Abstract

Improved imaging compositions and film are provided that employ a tellurium imaging compound, a reductant precursor, a masked reducing a agent, a source of labile hydrogen and an organic compound that improves the speed, developed optical density and/or background fog. These organic compounds include the following: and where R¹ and R⁶ each and independently are hydrogen, alkyl of three carbons or less, hydroxyl, phenyl, benzyl or alkoxy of three carbons or less, R², R³, R⁴, R⁵, R⁷ and R⁸ each and independently are hydrogen, alkyl of three carbon atoms or less, phenyl or benzyl; and compounds of the formulae:
