Description

The invention relates to a device for introducing flocculants into the sludge inside the inlet chamber of a centrifuge, consisting of a flocculant feed pipe which is passed through the sludge feed pipe and projects into the inlet chamber of the centrifuge provided with sludge through openings.

From German Offenlegungsschrift 28 22 533, a full jacket decanter centrifuge is known in which the flocculant is fed into the inlet chamber of the centrifuge without pressure via a stationary line which is passed through the sludge feed pipe. The flocculant is mixed with the sludge here solely by the flow turbulence prevailing in the inlet chamber. Adequate mixing of the flocculant with the sludge is not hereby, however to be achieved once more flocculants are added to the sludge than is necessary for the flocculation of the solid particles present in the sludge. Overdosing the sludge with flocculants is associated with increased costs and is therefore uneconomical. On the other hand, with this known type of flocculant supply into the sludge, not all of the solid particles in the sludge are reached by the flocculants, which in turn has a disadvantageous effect on the separation of the solids from the liquid in the centrifuge.

The object of the invention is therefore to provide a device for introducing flocculants into the sludge inside the inlet chamber of a centrifuge, which enables the flocculant to be optimally mixed with the sludge while using as little flocculant as possible.

The object is achieved in that the flocculant supply pipe is axially adjustable and / or rotatably held in the sludge supply pipe.

Due to the fact that according to the invention the flocculant supply pipe is held axially adjustable and / or rotatable in the sludge supply pipe, the flocculant jet emerging from the nozzle-shaped outlet opening of the flocculant supply pipe can be directed or adjusted precisely to the sludge flow located in the peripheral area of the inlet chamber , in which an optimal mixing of sludge and flocculant takes place. As practical tests have shown, this area lies between the baffle of the inlet chamber and the sludge through openings in the Inlet chamber, where the sludge flow runs in the axial direction. By appropriate adjustment of the flocculant supply pipe according to the invention, as practice has further shown, the flocculant addition can be reduced to the minimum required in each case, which in comparison to the previously known flocculant supply devices saves flocculants in some cases up to over 50 % is achieved.

According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the flocculant feed tube consists of several parts which are arranged to be pluggable or telescopically displaceable. With this configuration of the flocculant supply pipe, the removal and installation of the flocculant supply pipe can be carried out in a simple manner with a small space requirement.

In a further embodiment of the invention, the flocculant feed tube consists of a flexible or elastic material, in particular rubber. Such a flocculant feed pipe is particularly characterized by the easy handling during installation and removal and by the self-sealing at the through opening in the sludge feed pipe.

The device according to the invention is explained in more detail below on the basis of exemplary embodiments shown schematically in the drawing.
  • Figure 1 is a partial section of a solid-bowl screw centrifuge with inlet chamber and flocculant supply pipe according to the invention.
  • Fig. 2 shows a partial section of a holder arranged on the sludge feed pipe for the flocculant feed pipe according to the invention on an enlarged scale.
  • 3 is a partial section of a multi-part flocculant supply pipe according to the invention;

As shown in FIG. 1, the centrifuge consists of a centrifuge drum 1, in which a screw conveyor 2 is arranged coaxially, the shaft of which is designed as a hollow shaft 3 and is externally surrounded by the spiral screw 4. The hollow shaft 3 is closed by an end wall 5, which is provided in the central area with an opening 6 through which a stationary arranged sludge feed pipe 7 is passed. A baffle 8 with baffle cone 9 is installed in the hollow shaft 3 at a distance from the end wall 5, which together with the end wall 5 and the hollow shaft 3 forms an inlet chamber 10 for the sludge. Provided in the hollow shaft 3 in the area of this inlet chamber 10 are a plurality of openings 11 evenly distributed over the circumference for the sludge to pass into the centrifuge drum 1.

A flocculant feed pipe 12 is guided through the sludge feed pipe 7, which opens into the inlet chamber 10 and is provided in the end region with a nozzle-shaped outlet opening 13. This Flocculant feed pipe 12 is held in the sludge feed pipe 7 according to the invention both axially adjustable and rotatable. A tubular extension piece 14 with a locking screw 15 arranged at the outer end of the sludge feed pipe 7 serves as a holder. By loosening the adjusting screw 15, the flocculant feed pipe 12 can be moved both in the axial direction and rotated about the axis. In this way, the flocculant supply pipe 12 with the nozzle-shaped outlet opening 13 can be adjusted very advantageously in such a way that the flocculant jet 16 emerging from the nozzle-shaped outlet opening 13 under pressure strikes the rotating sludge layer located in the peripheral area within the sludge inlet chamber 10 and at least partially penetrates, with an intimate mixing of sludge and flocculant. As has been determined by practical tests, this area lies between the baffle 8 and the sludge passage openings 11, specifically at the point where the sludge in the peripheral region of the inlet chamber 10 is away from the baffle wall 8, approximately in the axial direction towards the sludge passage openings 11 emotional. The amount of flocculant supplied to the sludge in the inlet chamber 10 under pressure of, for example, about 0.5 to 10 bar via the line 12 can be optimally adjusted in this way, that is to say can be adjusted to the amount of flocculant that is necessary to all in the Detect and flocculate existing solid particles. In this way, the flocculant consumption can be reduced considerably in comparison to the previously known devices and the separation effect can be significantly improved. In order to enable the removal and installation of the flocculant supply pipe 12 in a simple and particularly space-saving manner, as shown in FIG. 2, the flocculant supply pipe 12 can consist of several parts 17 which are arranged to be pluggable or telescopically displaceable.

Eine besondere Feststellschraube ist bei dieser Ausbildung und konstruktiven Anordnung des Flockungsmittel-Zuführungsrohres 12 nicht erforderlich.3, can also consist of a flexible or an elastic material, in particular rubber, and can be passed through a corresponding opening 18 in an extension piece 19 arranged on the sludge feed pipe 7, whereby due to the Elasticity of the pressurized flocculant supply pipe 12, a tight fit and thus clamping in the opening 18 of the extension piece is achieved in a simple manner. A special locking screw is not required with this design and structural arrangement of the flocculant supply tube 12.

The object of the invention is not limited to the exemplary embodiments shown in the drawing. For example, the flocculant feed pipe 12 can also be attached in the sludge feed pipe 7 centrally, laterally at the top in the axial direction, or also at an angle to it. The flocculant feed pipe 12 can optionally also be introduced into the inlet chamber 10 outside the sludge feed pipe 12. Furthermore, the flocculant supply pipe 12 according to the invention can also be very advantageously provided with a plurality of nozzle-shaped outlet openings.
