Description

METHODE ET APPAREIL DE MESURE DE L'HUMIDITE DES METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MEASURING THE MOISTURE OF
The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for measuring the absolute humidity of seeds by measuring the absorption coefficient of a high frequency field simultaneously with the coefficient of compaction by sonic or ultrasonic densimetry and of the temperature of l 'explored sample, with automatic correction by these parameters of the actual humidity.
Electric conductometry methods are known which have the disadvantage of measuring the least electrical resistance of the sample.
We also know methods by weighing and drying which are quite precise but which are laborious and require a long period of time.
Various methods of absorbing or reflecting infrared radiation are also known.
The high frequency electric exploration methods are usually used for the purpose of desiccation by the thermal conversion of the electrical energy absorbed by the explored sample. The present invention eliminates a series of disadvantages of the designed methods by proposing a method for exploring the absolute humidity of the seed samples, characterized by measuring the absorption coefficient of a high frequency electromagnetic field at constant speed, by the control of the initial temperature and of the heating of the sample during the measurement as well as by measuring the degree of compaction of the sample with the automatic correction of the humidity as a function of all these parameters mentioned.
L'appareil réalisé conformément à l'investion fonctionne de la manière suivante:In figure no. 1 shows an exemplary embodiment of the present invention. In accordance with the invention, the absolute humidity measuring device is compsed by a high frequency generator A which applies, through a frequency and amplitude stabilizer stage B, regular oscillations at high frequency in a coil C inside which the seeds to be explored are placed and which is tuned with source A in resonance mode. The signals modified in amplitude by the attenuation of the field in the interior of the coil C will then be detected in amplitude in the circuit D and after, the value of the output voltage will be related to a reference voltage amplified differently in the amplifier E and corrected in linearity by stageF and then applied in the general correction circuit G. At this level, the two reciprocal corrections arrive from one of the sonic or ultrasonic source H which applies by the transmitter I 1 ultrasonic waves or sound passing through the explored sample and which will then be picked up by the sensor I 2 and analyzed in amplitude by the stage J, and the other by the high-precision temperature sensor I 3 and the temperature measurement stage T. After the actual humidity value correction, the corrected values as well as the primary values are displayed in the display circuit K and processed in the display. computer age L. The stage T which measures the temperature exerts a double correction by the initial temperature of the sample and by the difference between this one and the heating during the measurement which is a value in relation to the humidity of the sample and its initial temperature. The device produced in accordance with the invasion operates as follows:
The seeds are introduced into the interior of the container which is inside the coil C. The high frequency source A produces high frequency oscillations stabilized in frequency and amplitude by stage B. The attenuation of the waves produced in the interior of the coil C by the variation of the magnetic permeability and the conductivity of the explored sample is proportional with the output current. Under conditions for controlling the volume explored and the degree of compaction and the initial temperature of the sample, a value is obtained which expresses the degree of absolute humidity of the sample to be explored. The compaction corrections are obtained by sound or ultrasonic desimetry by the measurement chain H, I 1 , I 2 , J. The temperature correction is obtained by the chain I 3 , T. All the corrections are made by the circuit of general correction G and then are displayed in the display circuit K and optionally processed in the computer stage L.
The device offers the possibility of correct measurement of humidity at wide limits of humidity and temperature. The device has high reliability, the measurement is carried out instantly and the construction price is low.
