Description

The subject of the invention is a double-glazed frame intended to separate an exterior environment from an interior environment comprising an interior blind of the tubular type, the design of which considerably improves the coefficient of thermal insulation and also makes it possible to cancel easily any unpleasant effect of cold wall, which usually produces any glazed surface even with double glazing.

The tubular blind is a blind which, due to its construction, has a succession of elongated volumes extending parallel between the two panes of a frame. These volumes can follow one another in a vertical direction, when the blind is in use, in a single row in a horizontal direction; it is also possible that the blind comprises in horizontal direction several rows of contiguous tubular volumes which follow one another, also joined, in vertical direction. Document US-A-4 307 768 provides a complete description of a blind of this type produced using strips joined by an adhesive.

It is also known to use plastic strips covered with a layer of sprayed metal.

According to an important characteristic of a blind according to the invention, there is on each of the faces of each of the bands which constitutes the blind, a break in the continuity of the metal layer between the opposite edges of these bands, which are located d on the one hand on the side of the external environment, on the other hand on the side of the internal environment separated by the chassis; this break in continuity exists over the entire length of each strip.

It is preferable to provide for this break in continuity in the middle part of each strip, in the direction of its width. In general, in this middle part is a zone of adhesion of each of the bands which limit a tubular volume with one of the bands which limit the tubular volume immediately higher or lower in the vertical direction. The break in continuity is confused then with the adhesion zone of the faces which are glued together.

When the blind comprises several successive tubular volumes in the horizontal direction, according to a preferred embodiment of the invention, provision is made for a break in the continuity at each of the adhesion zones which are spaced in the transverse direction of the blind; this rupture is carried out not only on the faces of the strips which adhere to one another, but also on the opposite faces in correspondence with the bonding zones.

According to the method of the invention for manufacturing such a tubular blind, a sheet of metallized plastic material is used on its two faces by depositing a layer of a reflective metal, generally aluminum; strips of suitable width having the desired length are cut from this sheet, the metal layer is removed on the two faces of the sheet in correspondence with determined areas of adhesion, the strips are then joined together by gluing carried out along areas of bonding in correspondence with the desired configuration of the blind.

The above relates to the case where the metal layer previously existing on the plastic sheet is removed from said areas, by an appropriate operation.

The invention also encompasses the case where the metal layer is not produced in certain areas, for example by means of a cover or by the use of a protective material which can be easily removed later, when the covering is covered. plastic sheet of the reflective metallic layer. In the context of the process defined above, these sheets are used to cut strips therein so as to use as bonding zones at least some of the zones devoid of the metal layer.

Whichever way it is done, breaking the continuity of the metal coating in direction transverse to the blind is a characteristic which results in an unexpected and surprising result: the coefficient of thermal insulation of a blind according to the invention is significantly improved; for example, it has been found on a double-glazed frame containing a conventional blind with a heat loss coefficient that 0.70 W / m 2 / ° C that this coefficient reaches the value of 0.55 W / m 2 / ° C when the blind is produced in accordance with the invention.

In addition, whatever the configuration of the tubular volumes of the blind, there is on a face of any first elongated strip a metal layer which is electrically insulated from the layer deposited on the opposite face of this strip and from the layers deposited on the bands to which this first band is joined. It has been found that such an electrically insulated layer has, over a width of 23 mm and over a length of 10 cm, an electrical resistance of 10 n.

For a double glazed window frame containing a blind according to the invention, having a total surface of 2.50 m 2 (for example a height of 2.50 m with a width of 1 m), with a temperature difference of 30 ° C approximately on one side and the other of this chassis, the heat loss is of the order of 40 W. By circulating an electric current in the metallic layer of a single strip, over a length of 10 -15 cm and at a voltage of 24 V for example, it is easy to obtain the dissipation of an electrical power of 40 W inside the frame with double glazing. We thus cancel the loss that would occur through the latter and we remove the cold wall effect that would result.

In a frame according to the invention, it is advantageous to provide at least one pair of elastic blades arranged to come into electrical contact with two contact surfaces of the same strip forming part of a tubular volume of the blind, preferably with the face lower of a strip of the lowest tubular volume, the contact between these blades and said strip being made when the blind is in the lowered position.

Preferably, the elastic blades are part of an electrical circuit extending outside the chassis to be connected to an appropriate source of electric current and also comprising a thermostat connected to a temperature detector fixed, for example, to the interior window. double glazed chassis. This thermostat can cause the circulation of current when the temperature of the interior window drops below a predetermined value, 19 ° C for example.

The elastic blades can occupy a fixed position in order to be encountered by the blind when the latter reaches the bottom of its downward stroke. It is also possible to mount the blades on a movable blade holder that can be moved from outside the chassis so that the electrical contact can be created or removed at will when the sore has been lowered. In this case, the movable blade holder can be provided with several pairs of contact blades intended to be applied each against a corresponding strip of several tubular volumes of the blind.

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the tubular volume or volumes which are limited by a strip intended to come into contact with the electric blades, contain a rigid load bar which provides better quality electrical contact between the one or more strips and the pair or pairs of electric blades.

We will now give, without limiting intention and without excluding any variant, a description of an exemplary embodiment. Reference is made to the appended drawing in which:
  • FIG. 1 is a partial enlarged view in section through a transverse plane of part of a blind according to the invention,
  • FIG. 2 is a sectional view through a transverse plane of the lower part of a double-glazed frame containing a blind according to the invention with a pair of electric blades,
  • FIG. 3 is a partial view along F of the chassis of FIG. 2 showing the two electric blades and the diagram of the electric circuit,
  • - Figure 4 is a partial schematic view of a blind with several successive tubular volumes in the horizontal direction.

Figure 1 shows part of a blind 1 composed of a succession of tubular volumes 2 joined in a vertical direction. Each tubular volume 2 is obtained by means of a first lower strip 3 and a second upper strip 4 which are joined to one another by bonding along bonding zones 5, 6 which extend along of their longitudinal edges over a width of several millimeters. The second upper strip 4 of a tubular volume is bonded by its outer face to the first lower strip 3 'of the immediately higher tubular volume. These bands 4, 3 ′ are joined in a middle zone 7, elongated in the longitudinal direction of these bands, over a width of several millimeters. It is the same from the bottom to the top of the blind.

When the blind is raised, the successive strips 3,4,3 'etc. are flat and pressed against each other. When the awning is in the position of use, under the effect of the weight, the strips 3,4,3 'deviate outside the adhesion zones 5,6,7 etc. and the tubular volumes 2 appear. In this deployed state of the awning, the strips 3,4,3 'etc ... are in contact with each other only by the adhesion zones 5,6,7 ... The strips 3,4,3' etc ... are obtained from metallized plastic sheets on their two opposite faces. The metallization layer-8 has a low thickness (50 microns for example), but it is continuous, in a conventional blind, so that it establishes a continuity of thermal conductivity between the longitudinal edges of the adhesion zones 5 (assumed in FIG. 1 to be on the I side of the interior medium) and the opposite longitudinal edges of the adhesion zones 6 (assumed in FIG. 1 to be on the E side of the external medium), on the two faces of the strips 3,4,3 '...

According to the invention, the strips 3,4,3 '... which make up a blind have no metallic layer 8 in the bonding zones 5, 6, 7, on the side of the sheet where the adhesion is effectively carried out, but also on the opposite side, in other words on the two opposite faces of the sheet or of the strip, over a width and a length equal at least to those of bonding zones which are several millimeters wide, even on the longitudinal edges.

La figure 4 montre un store conforme à l'invention qui présente plusieurs volumes tubulaires 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D, en sens horizontal et en sens vertical, quand le store est utilisé ; ces volumes sont obtenues par collage de bandes dans des zones de collage 5, 5', 6, 7 où il existe à chaque fois, une rupture de la continuité sur les deux faces de la bande comme expliqué plus haut.FIG. 4 shows a blind according to the invention which has several tubular volumes 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D, in horizontal direction and in vertical direction, when the blind is used; these volumes are obtained by bonding strips in bonding zones 5, 5 ′, 6, 7 where there is each time a break in continuity on the two faces of the strip as explained above.

In FIG. 1, the metal layer 8 has been greatly enlarged. FIG. 2 shows a blind of the same kind as that of FIG. 1, with a single row of tubular volumes 2 joined in vertical direction; the metal layer does not appear, but it has been removed, as in the awning in FIG. 1, before bonding along the bonding zones 5,6,7.

In this example, each tubular volume 2 has, in cross section, a more rectangular configuration than in the example of FIG. 1. The lowest tubular volume contains a load bar g , with rectan profile corresponding gular, preferably made of non-conductive material of heat and electricity; of course, the lowest band of the blind also has a zone 10 for breaking the continuity of the metal layer, on its two opposite faces, although there is no bonding zone there. There is therefore on this lowest strip, a metal coating 8 which extends over the entire length of this strip and only between the zone 10 of break in continuity and the zone 5 of bonding to the strip which follows.

This blind is contained between two panes 11,12 supposed to be the first on the outside side E, the second on the inside side I. Between the two panes, the frame (which is not shown completely) comprises a lower cross member 13 of electrically insulating material. In the inner face of this cross member 13 is provided a housing in which can partially penetrate the lower bar of the blind stiffened by the load strip 9. In this housing, project two elastic blades 15, 16 of electrical contact which are joined respectively, through the thickness of the crosspiece 13, by two conductors 17,18 to an electrical circuit comprising a thermostat 19 having a temperature detector 20 fixed to the interior glass 12. This circuit is connected to a source of direct current at 24 V. The two electric blades 15,16 are spaced a distance substantially equal to the width of the blind so as to circulate in the metal layer 8, under the control of the thermostat 19, an electric current capable of producing a heating inside the glass frame canceling the cold wall effect, as explained above.

It will be noted that it would be easy to mount the electric blades 15, 16 on a movable insulating rod displaceable by an operating means passing through the thickness of the cross-member 13. Thus, these blades 15, 16 could be brought into contact or no, at will, -with the blind,
