Definitions
- the invention relates to a cutting device for crown-shaped cutting of fruits and the like by means of a star-shaped knife arranged around a fruit receptacle with a substantially V-shaped cross section, the cutting blades of which are displaceably guided between the gable roof-shaped, radially extending guide surfaces of a first housing part and at least one counter surface on the housing, and each engage with a driver pin arranged on them in a spiral groove of a second housing part rotatable relative to the first housing part, so that they can be moved radially along the guide surfaces by relative rotation of the two housing parts.
- Another known cutting device uses in V-shaped guides in the lower housing part sliding V-shaped knives with guide bodies embedded at the radially outer end with protruding upward protruding pins which protrude through radial slots in a housing upper part which is non-rotatable relative to the lower housing part, so that outside the housing Actuators, such as a pull rope or operating lever, grip it and move it radially (DE-GM 1 878 496).
- Actuators such as a pull rope or operating lever
- grip it and move it radially (DE-GM 1 878 496).
- This construction is also relatively complicated and correspondingly difficult to clean because, in addition to the knives and the two housing parts, there are also additional external actuators.
- the radially inner knife ends can also tip upward, and if the knives lose the flat contact with the guide surfaces, they can also bend and jam due to their low material thickness.
- At least one counter surface is formed on at least one of the two relatively rotatable housing parts.
- the advantage of the simplicity of the new cutting device is based primarily on the idea of having the second housing part, preferably the upper housing part, perform two functions simultaneously, namely both the direct pressing of the knives onto the guide surfaces of the lower housing part and the radial movement drive of the knives. Under these conditions there is no need for radial guide slots for the driver pins.
- the holding of the knives in contact with the guide surfaces can be achieved in that the knives themselves and / or guide bodies connected to them slide against the counter surfaces formed on the first housing part, which extend parallel to the guide surfaces.
- a very good guidance of the knives is achieved because in this case the shortest and stiffest connection exists between the gable roof-shaped guide surfaces and the counter surfaces.
- Another way of keeping the knives in contact with the guide surfaces is that they slide with their outer apex edge and possibly the top of a guide body connected to them against a mating surface on the second housing part, preferably the housing upper part, this mating surface in is a radial plane of the axis of rotation and preferably extends to the radial inner edge of the upper housing part.
- the knives are stiffened by outer stiffening ribs or guide bodies.
- the rigidity of the guide can be improved in that the upper housing part is stiffened both by guide ribs formed on the inside, which delimit the spiral grooves, and by a flange-like design of its radially inner end edge, which serves as a support for the apex edge of the knife. Mating surfaces can also be present on both housing parts.
- the knives can be made of steel with outer stiffening ribs or stiffening guide bodies made of plastic. They can also be made in one piece from plastic together with a stiffening rib or a stiffening body, which can also serve as a guide body, it being advisable to design the legs of the knives with longitudinal ribs or beads.
- the cutting device shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 consists only of a round lower housing part 10, a pot-shaped upper housing part 12 which can be brought into engagement with it on the outer circumference and, in the example, five V-shaped knives 14, i.e. a total of seven individual parts.
- the outer edge of the lower housing part 10 encompasses a flange edge 16 with cutouts on the upper housing part 12, which can be inserted into the encompassing edge of the lower housing part 10 in the manner of a bayonet lock in a specific relative angle of rotation position.
- the lower housing part 10 has essentially the same shape as the lower housing part according to DE-PS 23 32 131 with a central cup-shaped fruit receptacle 18 and star-shaped roof-shaped elevations 20 adjoining it in a star shape.
- the vertex angle of the roof-shaped elevations 20 corresponds to the vertex angle of the V-shaped knives 14, since this is on the roof-shaped elevations 20 sit radially.
- the side surfaces of the elevations 20 can be formed with shoulders or recesses, so that the knives do not lie against them over their entire surface.
- the knives 14 are fixedly connected at their radially outer ends on the outside to a guide body 22 or are formed integrally therewith.
- the latter is firmly connected in the middle position on its upper side to a driver pin 24 or is formed in one piece with it.
- the driver pins 24 each engage in a spiral groove 26 on the underside of the upper housing part, so that when the latter rotates with respect to the lower housing part 10, the driver pins 24 slide along the spiral grooves and the knives along the radial one Elevations 20 are moved.
- the tilt-proof guidance of the knives 14, which are tapered in the usual way towards the radially inner vertex, serve several measures in the example according to FIGS. 1 and 2. Since the V-shaped knives lie with their inner surfaces over a large area on the roof-shaped guide surfaces of the elevations 20, it is essentially a question of supporting the knives on counter surfaces to the roof-shaped guide surfaces, so that the knives, when they encounter resistance when cutting relatively hard fruits , with their radially inner ends cannot tilt upwards away from the roof-shaped guide surfaces.
- the lower surface of the ribs on the underside of the upper housing part 12, which each delimit the spiral groove 26, serves as the first counter surface.
- the uppermost surface of the guide body 22, which is designated by 28, slides against this surface.
- a second counter surface is located on the radially inner edge of the upper housing part 12 directly at the edge of the fruit receptacle 18.
- the upper housing part 12 forms there around the fruit receptacle 18, downward-facing collar 30, on the lower surface of which the apex edges of the knives 14 rest.
- the collar 30 also improves the rigidity and dimensional stability of the upper housing part 12 under the stress of the knives during cutting.
- third counter surfaces are also provided in the region of the leg ends of the V-shaped knives.
- guide rails 32 on both sides, in which engage outwardly projecting strips 34 which are formed on the lower end of the guide body 22.
- the strips 34 are located at the very end of the legs of the knives 14.
- the bottom plate of the lower housing part 10 is perforated, whereby the shaping of the counter surfaces on the guide rails 34 is made considerably easier.
- the counter surfaces to the roof-shaped guide surfaces should be located as far radially as possible inside. This applies not only to the counter surface on the collar 30, but also to the guide rails 32. However, there is also the possibility that the guide rails 32 extend essentially over the entire length of the elevations 20.
- the driver pin 24 has an oval cross section, which is so inclined to the radial and tangential direction that there is a particularly large contact surface on the spiral groove 24.
- Figures 3a, 4a and 6a of the center line show the right and left respectively different shapes of knives 14, and Figures 3b, 4b and 6b then show one of the two in the associated drawings, in cross-sectional diameter also shown in side view.
- the two knives according to the right and left side of FIG. 3a differ in the cross-sectional shape of the projecting strips 34 at the lower end of the guide body 22.
- the strip 34 On the left side of FIG. 3a, the strip 34 has a right-angled upper outer edge, on the right side in contrast, an acute-angled outer edge.
- the guide rails 32 are correspondingly differently shaped.
- the guide body 22 with the strips 34 is injection molded at a distance from the radially outer end edge of the knife and from its leg ends. Maintaining a distance from the end edges of the knives ensures easier and better sealing of the injection mold.
- the knife shown on the left-hand side of FIG. 4 a and in FIG. 4 b in side views has leg ends that are angled outwards and bear directly against the counter surfaces on the underside of the guide rails 32.
- FIGS. 5 and 6 show knives which, together with the guide bodies 22, are made in one piece from plastic.
- the guide bodies can e.g. 1 and 2.
- Knives 14 are provided with different longitudinal ribs for stiffening in the embodiments according to FIGS. 5a and 5b and with longitudinal beads in the embodiment according to FIGS. 6a and 6b.
- the design of the knives and guide bodies and then correspondingly the counter surfaces interacting with them to the roof-shaped guide surfaces also permits numerous other design variants. If guidance of the knives by counter surfaces on the upper housing part 12 is omitted or only takes place on the radially inner edge at 30, the guide body 22 can also be omitted or reduced to a stiffening rib.
- two hooks 40 are attached, which overlap the flange-shaped edge 16 of the upper housing part 12 in the locked state and guide them rotatably, but hold them axially.
- the two hooks 40 have different radially inward contours 42 and 44 and chamfers 46.
- the edge 16 of the upper housing part 12 has snap-in areas 48 in the form of recesses at two opposite points, which are designed differently in accordance with the two contours 42 and 44.
- the inner edges of the latching areas 48 are, however, about 1.5 mm larger in diameter than the associated controls 42, 44 of the lower housing part 12. On the one hand, this makes it easy to find the correct mounting position by rotating the upper housing part 12 so that the contours 42, 44 and the snap-in areas 48 match, on the other hand achieve simple snap-in by simply pressing the upper housing part 12 in the aligned position onto the lower housing part 10.
- the inner edges of the latching areas 48 first meet the chamfer 46, are pressed inward by this and then jump under the hook 40.
- the upper housing part 12 can be freely rotated around the knives in the manner described above or in a known manner to operate. To release the connection, it is sufficient to turn the housing parts 10, 12 into the relative position in which the hooks 40 are located at the snap-in areas 48, and then to press them onto the outer surface 50 of the upper housing part 12 and lift it off.

Description
The invention relates to a cutting device for crown-shaped cutting of fruits and the like by means of a star-shaped knife arranged around a fruit receptacle with a substantially V-shaped cross section, the cutting blades of which are displaceably guided between the gable roof-shaped, radially extending guide surfaces of a first housing part and at least one counter surface on the housing, and each engage with a driver pin arranged on them in a spiral groove of a second housing part rotatable relative to the first housing part, so that they can be moved radially along the guide surfaces by relative rotation of the two housing parts.
In such a cutting device, it is known to guide the V-shaped knives between the gable-roof-shaped guide surfaces on their inner surfaces on the lower housing part and on their outer surfaces, likewise shaped mating surfaces on an intermediate housing part, which is provided with radial slots, through which the driving pins pass extend in spiral grooves in the rotatable upper housing part (DE-PS 23 32 131). Disadvantages here are the manufacturing outlay due to the additional, relatively large intermediate housing part, the complicated cleaning and the fact that the complicated construction tion practically no tilt-proof guidance of the knives guaranteed, because only the largest possible guidance of the knives is intended, but not because the guide surfaces must be as stiff as possible.
Another known cutting device uses in V-shaped guides in the lower housing part sliding V-shaped knives with guide bodies embedded at the radially outer end with protruding upward protruding pins which protrude through radial slots in a housing upper part which is non-rotatable relative to the lower housing part, so that outside the housing Actuators, such as a pull rope or operating lever, grip it and move it radially (DE-GM 1 878 496). This construction is also relatively complicated and correspondingly difficult to clean because, in addition to the knives and the two housing parts, there are also additional external actuators. In addition, the radially inner knife ends can also tip upward, and if the knives lose the flat contact with the guide surfaces, they can also bend and jam due to their low material thickness.
In addition, another known cutting device (US Pat. No. 3,190,330) should also be mentioned, in which the V-shaped knives are only connected at their rear ends to a guide body which is moved along a radial groove by a spiral groove. There are no gable roof-shaped guide surfaces and counter surfaces between which the radially inner end and the central region of the cutting blades are guided. The freely cantilevered knives therefore tend to tilt and are difficult to move. In addition, the assembly and disassembly of the device are very cumbersome. The invention has for its object to provide a cutting device of the type mentioned, in which with a simple, easy-to-clean, two-part housing a tip-free guidance of the cutting blades of the knife between guide and counter surfaces is achieved.
The above object is achieved in that at least one counter surface is formed on at least one of the two relatively rotatable housing parts.
The advantage of the simplicity of the new cutting device is based primarily on the idea of having the second housing part, preferably the upper housing part, perform two functions simultaneously, namely both the direct pressing of the knives onto the guide surfaces of the lower housing part and the radial movement drive of the knives. Under these conditions there is no need for radial guide slots for the driver pins.
In the cutting device according to the invention, the holding of the knives in contact with the guide surfaces can be achieved in that the knives themselves and / or guide bodies connected to them slide against the counter surfaces formed on the first housing part, which extend parallel to the guide surfaces. A very good guidance of the knives is achieved because in this case the shortest and stiffest connection exists between the gable roof-shaped guide surfaces and the counter surfaces. Another way of keeping the knives in contact with the guide surfaces is that they slide with their outer apex edge and possibly the top of a guide body connected to them against a mating surface on the second housing part, preferably the housing upper part, this mating surface in is a radial plane of the axis of rotation and preferably extends to the radial inner edge of the upper housing part. With this support at the apex edge, it is advantageous if the knives are stiffened by outer stiffening ribs or guide bodies. In addition, the rigidity of the guide can be improved in that the upper housing part is stiffened both by guide ribs formed on the inside, which delimit the spiral grooves, and by a flange-like design of its radially inner end edge, which serves as a support for the apex edge of the knife. Mating surfaces can also be present on both housing parts.
The knives can be made of steel with outer stiffening ribs or stiffening guide bodies made of plastic. They can also be made in one piece from plastic together with a stiffening rib or a stiffening body, which can also serve as a guide body, it being advisable to design the legs of the knives with longitudinal ribs or beads.
It could be that the particularly advantageous embodiment with guide and counter surfaces on the same housing part has not yet been proposed because there was no possibility of economically producing these opposite surfaces, which extend on several sides, by injection molding. However, it was surprisingly found that this is possible if the counter surfaces lie above openings in the bottom plate of the lower housing part, because then the counter surfaces can be formed through the openings in the base plate.

The cutting device shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 consists only of a round
In the example, the
The
The tilt-proof guidance of the
An dieser Fläche liegt die mit 28 bezeichnete oberste Fläche der Führungskörper 22 gleitend an.The lower surface of the ribs on the underside of the
A second counter surface is located on the radially inner edge of the
Finally, in the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 1 and 2, third counter surfaces are also provided in the region of the leg ends of the V-shaped knives. For this purpose, in addition to the roof-
The counter surfaces to the roof-shaped guide surfaces should be located as far radially as possible inside. This applies not only to the counter surface on the
In the normal case, one will get along with the counter surfaces on the
Figures 3a, 4a and 6a of the center line show the right and left respectively different shapes of
In the case of the
The knife shown on the left-hand side of FIG. 4 a and in FIG. 4 b in side views has leg ends that are angled outwards and bear directly against the counter surfaces on the underside of the guide rails 32.
It is readily apparent that the design of the knives and guide bodies and then correspondingly the counter surfaces interacting with them to the roof-shaped guide surfaces also permits numerous other design variants. If guidance of the knives by counter surfaces on the
It is advisable to provide at the radially outer end of the roof-shaped guide surfaces in each case an upstanding stop, designated 36 in FIG. 1, which ensures that when the
In a cutting device with the basic structure described, in which an upper housing part is placed on a lower housing part, with which the knives are operated simultaneously, regardless of whether the knives are guided as described above or in some other way, the problem arises that the upper housing part lifts from the lower housing part by the actuation pressure. As a countermeasure brackets were installed previously on two 180 0 offset locations that held the housing top and the housing bottom. The disadvantage of these two additional brackets is not only the additional manufacturing effort, but also the complex assembly. 7 and 8 show a connection of the Housing parts that make it possible to do without such clips.
The
