Description
The invention relates to an adjusting device for adjusting the pitch of propeller blades which are rotatably mounted in the hub of an adjusting propeller of watercraft and which can be actuated by a linkage, the linkage being arranged by means of an adjusting member which is arranged in a non-rotating manner on the outflow side of the hub of the adjusting propeller and forms part of the adjusting device can be actuated with the adjusting propeller rotating adjusting member.
Adjustment devices with which the pitch of the blades of an adjustable propeller are adjusted are known in various designs. They serve on the one hand to better utilize the power installed in a watercraft and on the other hand to facilitate maneuvering of the watercraft. The pitch of the propeller blades can be adjusted manually or automatically, depending on the application, and the propeller blades can also be adjusted for reverse travel.
While the variable pitch propeller is driven by a motorized drive inside the watercraft bene shaft is driven, the propeller blades are adjusted in different ways. It is known to introduce a pressure fluid into the propeller hub and thus to act on a piston system arranged in the hub, by means of which the propeller blades are adjusted (US Pat. No. 2,931,443).
It is also known to carry out the adjustment of the propeller blades by means of a mechanical linkage or gear, the adjustment force being applied manually. For this purpose, the adjustment movement is transmitted to an adjustment member which is mounted in the propeller hub and is arranged in a non-rotating manner and from there via a thrust bearing to a rotating adjustment member which carries out the adjustment movement of the propeller blades via a linkage (US Pat. No. 2,742,097).
Both types of adjustment devices have disadvantages. The adjustment of the propeller blade due to a pressure medium introduced into the propeller hub is complex, which is why it can only be used for larger watercraft, and it is also difficult to achieve complete tightness of the pressure system. The disadvantage of the manually operated adjustment device is that it can only be used with small adjustment propellers, since the adjustment forces can no longer be applied manually with larger adjustment propellers.
This is where the invention comes in, which is based on the object of designing an adjusting device of the type described at the outset in such a way that the adjusting device is simple and at the same time allows large adjusting forces to be applied, making it possible to use it with larger adjusting propellers.
This object is achieved according to the invention in that the non-rotating adjustment member is connected to an adjustment linkage which in turn is coupled to a linear motor arranged at a distance from the adjustment propeller.
The adjustment device according to the invention can be used according to the invention in a watercraft in such a way that the linear motor is arranged in the area inside or outside the hull of the watercraft.
- Fig. 4 eine Ansicht der Verstellvorrichtung nach Fig. 3 aus Richtung IV in Fig. 3.
- 1 is a schematic representation of an adjustment device according to the invention for adjusting the pitch of a propeller blade,
- 2 shows a first arrangement of the adjustment device for an adjustment propeller permanently attached to the watercraft,
- Fig. 3 shows a second arrangement of an adjusting device for an adjustable propeller, which is mounted in a pivoting part articulated on the watercraft, which also carries the rudder, and
- 4 shows a view of the adjusting device according to FIG. 3 from the direction IV in FIG. 3.
The adjusting device for an
In Fig. 2, the
The adjustment device described ensures that because of the arrangement of the
With this arrangement, if the
