Description

The invention relates to a fountain pen with a housing part with gripping surfaces into which an extension protrudes, which is provided with a nib and rotatably but axially fixed in the housing part, and with a locking device which is effective when the extension is rotated in the housing part.

From DE-B-1275410 a fountain pen for novice writers is already known, which has a sleeve which can be fixedly fixed on the front part of the fountain pen in any rotational position and which has finger attachment points (gripping surfaces) offset on the outer circumferential surface in the circumferential direction and in the axial direction, the sleeve on the end section of the fountain pen front part, which is offset in diameter, is rotatably supported against a shoulder and can be positively locked in such an angular position relative to the nib by means of a locking device securing it against unwanted axial displacement that one of the gripping surfaces is in the position in which it is located the index finger guiding the fountain pen offers a starting point at the correct distance from the nib for the respective hand size. Such an arrangement enables the user to optimally adjust the position of the nib against the gripping surfaces and in accordance with the respective individual writing posture, in order thus to achieve easy and fatigue-free writing. The change or setting of the nib position can be carried out easily and conveniently by simple handling, without the fingers being soiled with ink or the nib being damaged. However, it is necessary to provide a large number of individual elements in a precisely predetermined order and with correspondingly precise dimensional tolerances for the assembly of the fountain pen. Without these exact dimensional tolerances, twisting of the nib can result in jamming or the nib can twist automatically if the clamping device is set too loosely.

To set certain rotational positions, the barrel of the fountain pen shown there carries on its inner surface, along which the nipple carrying the nib is rotatably mounted, an inwardly projecting small nose, which is arranged in three small, appropriately designed detent recesses, each offset uniformly in the circumferential direction on the nipple can intervene. In this known fountain pen, rotation of the shaft relative to the spring is possible, and certain individual relative positions provided by the position of the locking troughs can also be achieved in the locking position, thereby preventing undesired rotation of the locking position achieved when writing. If, in this known fountain pen, however, the extension piece is to be rotated relative to the barrel, the small nose projecting inwards on the inside of the barrel must inevitably remain on the cylindrical surface during the twisting movement until it can engage in a new locking recess of the extension piece to be rotated, since this rests against the cylindrical inner circumference of the shaft for guidance and storage. However, since the latch protrudes inwards, a constraint occurs when twisting, because during the twisting movement, a local play in the size of the nose projection between the guide pin and the shaft must be generated. This inevitably leads to the fact that the actually circular cross section of the inner wall of the shaft is converted into a slightly oval shape by the forced gap. The constraints that occur not only cause a completely uneven pressure distribution along the sliding surfaces of guide pins on the one hand and inner shaft surfaces on the other hand, but also create a local peak pressure build-up at the point where there is contact between the projecting nose and the outer surface of the guide pin. The result of this is that the inwardly projecting nose grinds off relatively quickly or, if the material of the guide bolt is softer, an annular groove digs in there. In any case, the effect of the locking device deteriorates with continued use. In addition, due to the recurring oval expansion of the shaft when twisting, not only is the seal between the guide surfaces destroyed locally, but also relatively large torsional forces of the user are required, since the forcing of a deviation of the inner shape from its otherwise circular cross section is too great Forces in the shaft.

Proceeding from this, the object of the invention is to create a latching arrangement which operates reliably even over a long period of use, does not produce any local leaks and nevertheless allows easy adjustability with little effort with a reliably guaranteed latching effect.

This object is achieved in a fountain pen of the type mentioned at the outset in that the latching device has two resilient tabs which protrude from the front end of the housing part into the extension piece and which engage in a radially arranged counter-grid on the inner surface of the attachment piece facing the tabs, and that the resilient tabs are arranged such that they can be deflected inwards when the extension piece is turned.

In the solution according to the invention, the fact that two mutually opposite resilient locking tabs are arranged, which in the protrude twisting extension piece and there cooperate resiliently with a suitable inner grid, created the possibility, in a particularly space-saving and simple manner, but very effectively, to ensure the desired locking. However, the fact that at the same time the tabs are arranged in such a way that they can spring out towards the inside of the fountain pen when twisted, not only ensures a relatively low expenditure of force for twisting the extension piece, but also the forced occurrence of an otherwise non-existent game all unpleasant consequences of the same (occurrence of constraints, undesirable changes in shape, wear, etc.) safely avoided.

The solution according to the invention enables the resilient latching elements to be designed very specifically for their latching function. Depending on requirements, the resilient tabs can be designed so that the desired force characteristics can be achieved when engaging or disengaging and twisting. Due to the opposing resilient tabs, a certain centering effect between the force and fountain pen housing part and the extension piece is achieved, because it is precisely through the opposing locking forces that favorable conditions can be achieved with regard to the forces that occur. The adaptation of the resilient tabs to the counter-grid can be optimized in terms of both material and design so that significant wear in the locking device that occurs over the life of the fountain pen does not have to be expected, thereby ensuring reliable functioning even over long periods of time.

Preferably, in a fountain pen according to the invention, the resilient tabs have latching projections in the form of longitudinal ribs and the counter-raster on the extension piece has corresponding longitudinal grooves, which results in a simple but particularly effective latching device which can be operated with little effort.

It is also advantageous if, in the case of a fountain pen according to the invention, the extension piece in the housing part is rotatably but axially fixed by means of a snap fit.

A particularly advantageous embodiment of the fountain pen according to the invention also consists in the fact that at the end of the section of the extension projecting into the housing part, elastically deflectable bead sections are provided which are separated from one another by longitudinal slots and which, in the assembled state, engage radially overlapping an inner contact surface on the outer housing part. In this case, the bead can be moved in the radial direction during assembly and, when the assembly is complete, lie behind the inner contact surface of the outer housing part in order to form a secure bearing in the form of a large contact surface and at the same time to hold the attachment piece.

  • Fig. einen Teillängsschnitt durch einen erfindungsgemässen Füllfederhalter,
Further advantages of the invention result from the following description of an exemplary embodiment in conjunction with the accompanying drawings. Show it:
  • 1 shows a partial longitudinal section through a fountain pen according to the invention,
  • Fig. A cross section through the fountain pen shown in Fig. 1 along the line AA and
  • Fig. A cross section through the fountain pen shown in Fig. 1 along the line BB.

The housing part is designated by reference number 2. Grip areas are identified by the number 3. The gripping surfaces 3 are located on the outer surface of the housing part 2, which has two resilient tabs 6 and 7 on its end face, on which longitudinal ribs 8 and 9 are arranged, which cooperate with corresponding inner longitudinal grooves 10 (FIG. 2) of an extension 11. Inside there is an ink supply system 4 and a nib 5. The extension 11 is held and guided in addition to the cylindrical bearing in the housing part 2 in the axial direction via a bead 12 on the contact surface 13 of the housing part 2.

A of FIG. 1 how the resilient tabs 6 and 7 with the longitudinal ribs 8 and 9 each cooperate with the inner longitudinal grooves 10 of the end piece 11. The tabs 6 and 7 and thus the longitudinal ribs 8 and 9 each spring into the inner longitudinal grooves 10 opposite them, in order to bend inward in the radial direction when the extension 11 is rotated and the user of the fountain pen when adapting the gripping surfaces 3 to oppose a certain twisting resistance to his individual writing attitude.

In Fig. The snap fit inside the fountain pen 1 is shown. The extension 11 is located in the housing part 2 and engages with its bead 12 behind the contact surface 13. When mounting the extension 11 in the housing part 2, the three beads 12 are pressed together in the axial direction, so that the slots 14 arranged symmetrically between them are almost are closed. After the beads 12 have stepped behind the contact surface 13, they can move outward again in the axial direction and thus securely store and hold the extension 11 in the housing part 2.

The operation of the invention is as follows:
  • The change in the angle of the setting of the pen takes place in that the extension 11 is rotatably arranged together with the ink supply system 4 relative to the housing part 2 which has a rib-groove connection. The extension 11 is held over the undercut in the housing part 2 having the gripping surfaces 3. After assembly, only radial but no axial displacement is possible. In order to precisely position the setting of the nib 5 or to secure it against unintentional change, the housing part 2 with the two resilient La 6 and 7 are provided, on each of which a longitudinal rib 8 or 9 is arranged, which projects into the housing part 11 and is guided accordingly. The housing part 11 is provided in this area with a radially arranged grid in which the two resilient tabs 6 and 7 engage accordingly and thus hold the set position. The two resilient tabs 6 and 7 allow the writing position to be changed easily by rotating the housing part 11, but there is still noticeable resistance for the user.
