Abstract

The invention relates to an electric motor-driven blower for an air bubble massager, which is accommodated in a housing with suction and pressure ports, in which the suction port is provided with an end wall in which a plurality of suction openings are distributed. In order to markedly reduce the suction noise of the blower, the invention provides that the suction openings themselves are again designed as suction sleeves, the cross sections of which continuously decrease in the suction direction and that suction sleeves are integrally formed on the end wall integrally connected to the suction nozzle. The sucked-in air flow is divided into several small partial flows that have significantly less suction noise.

Description

The invention relates to an electric motor-driven blower for an air bubble massager, which is accommodated in a housing with suction and pressure ports, in which the suction port is provided with an end wall in which a plurality of suction openings are distributed.

A blower of this type is known from U.S. Patent 2,695,781. The end wall provided with outlet openings is part of a filter and covers filter disks which are used as a filter insert in the suction port of the housing. The dimensioning of the outlet openings of the end wall is such that the contact resistance for the air flow sucked in via the filter insert is as small as possible. The suction openings of the end wall have no effect on the reduction of the noise generated by the blower, since swirls always form behind the suction openings, which increase the noise generated.

It is an object of the invention to greatly reduce the noise generated by the intake air flow in a simple manner in a blower of the type mentioned.

This object is achieved according to the invention in that the suction openings are again designed as suction sleeves, the cross sections of which are continuous in the suction direction lend remove, and that the suction sleeves are integrally formed on the end wall integrally connected to the suction nozzle.

The design of the suction openings as suction sleeves with a cross-section that decreases in size in the suction direction, in addition to the division of the sucked-in air flow into a number of smaller air flows, also calms them down when they pass through the suction sleeves, so that no noise-causing eddies are formed when they emerge from the suction sleeves. Through the one-piece connection of the end wall to the suction nozzle and the one-piece molding of the suction sleeves on the end wall, the advantage of noise reduction is achieved solely by a differently designed housing part.

An embodiment has proven to be advantageous, which is characterized in that the suction sleeves protrude on the 'inside and outside of the end wall and that the suction sleeves are arranged evenly distributed on a circular path. The suction sleeves protrude further on the outside of the end wall than on the inside thereof.

The installation of the structural unit consisting of electric motor and blower into the housing is simplified in that the housing is composed of two housing parts, with the pressure connection piece being formed on one housing part and the suction connection piece being formed on the other housing part with the end wall and the suction sleeves. Due to the integral molding of the suction sleeves on the associated housing part, the manufacturing costs are not noticeably influenced compared to the known blower, since only the material requirement for the assigned housing part is increased somewhat.

  • Fig. 1 in Explosionsdarstellung die Teile des Gebläses,
The invention is explained in more detail using an exemplary embodiment shown in the drawings. It shows:
  • 1 is an exploded view of the parts of the blower,
  • Fig. 2 is a partial view with partial section of the housing part provided with the suction nozzle and
  • Fig. 3 shows the view of the outside of the suction nozzle.

The blower with the electric motor represents a complete structural unit 10, which can also be provided with a heating coil for heating the intake air. The connecting cable 11 for the electric motor and the heating coil is inserted into the housing part 23 via the seal 12 and the bore 13. The two housing parts 17 and 23 are directed towards each other with their open end faces, connected to one another when the structural unit 10 is installed. For this purpose, the flanges 19 and 24 are provided with the mounting holes 22, and a sealing element can also be placed between them. The structural unit 10 is introduced into the assembled housing such that the connecting piece of the housing part 17 serves as a pressure connecting piece 18 and the connecting piece of the housing part 23 serves as a suction connecting piece 25.

Before the housing is assembled, the filter disks 16 and 20, which consist, for example, of fine-pored plastic foam, are attached to the pressure connection 18 and the suction connection 25. These filter disks 16 and 25 completely cover the suction opening and the pressure outlet opening of the blower, so that the dust contained in the sucked-in air is retained and the coal dust and other dirt particles released in the electric motor and the blower do not overlap. the pressure port 18 can reach the connected bubbling grate. The central recesses 21 of the filter disks 16 and 20 can serve to fix them in the housing parts 17 and 23.

The structural unit 10 is supported in the housing part 23 via the sealing ring 15 outside the suction connector 25 at the stepped transition of the housing part 23. The other end of the assembly 10 is supported by the support plate 14 directly at the inlet of the pressure port 18. Parts of the housing part 17 can take over the fixing of the support disk 14 via the bores 31 and the filter disk 10 via their central recess.

As the enlarged representations according to FIGS. 2 and 3 show, the suction port 25 is closed by means of the end wall 26 and carries a plurality of suction sleeves 27, which are preferably distributed uniformly on a circular path concentric with the center of the suction port 25. These intake ports 27 are integrally formed on the end wall 26 of the intake port 25, so that the manufacture of the housing part 23 is not noticeably more expensive. The suction sleeves 27 with their suction openings 28 divide the sucked-in air flow into several equal smaller partial flows, so that the suction noise is considerably weakened. It is advantageous if the suction sleeves 27 protrude both on the outside and on the inside of the end wall 26. It has proven to be expedient for the suction sleeves 27 to protrude more on the outside of the end wall 26 than on the inside thereof. In addition, noise is reduced if the cross section of the suction openings 28 continuously decreases in the suction direction. This also facilitates the demolding of the housing part 23 when it is manufactured in the plastic "injection molding process.
