Abstract

Description

The invention relates to a packaging container for ice cream, with a lid inserted into the opening of the outer casing, on which the peripheral edge tab of the outer casing is unfolded.

In such a known blanket closure, a relatively stable cardboard lid is introduced and through the flanged edge of the bag made of z. B. paper or aluminum foil itself reliably held in place. With unavoidable shock or pressure loads, e.g. B. by the rough treatment in the department store freezer, but can not guarantee the optimal position of the carton lid with this lid closure, which depending on the bag material used to a certain extent spring back from the carton lid, so that it is crooked or even falls out. As a result, the inherently stable and environmentally friendly closure no longer meets the hygienic requirements.

In a packaging container such. B. according to DE-PS 1 193 866, a tight hygienic closure is ensured by the heat sealing of the closure lid even in the event of deformations due to impact or pressure loads. However, due to the instability required for easy application, the closure lid, which is usually made of paper or film, cannot prevent permanent deformation of the packaging. The hygienically sealed packaging becomes unsightly and reduces the incentive to buy.

Such deformed, heat-sealed packaging, as well as packaging with a displaced cardboard lid, is, as can be observed, often thrown back into the freezer after a careful look, as a result of which the pieces sorted out in this way are further deformed or others are deformed for the first time or ultimately damaged and must be sorted out.

One has tried, for. B. in a reinforced by the use of composite material cone packaging for peanuts to achieve greater strength by sealing the conical side surface of a previously cup-shaped plastic lid in the opening provided with a mouth roller.

The plastic seal, however, requires a larger supply of heat, which is also undesirable in the case of various foods, and inevitably requires longer cycle times for the packaging machines and thus, in addition to the anyway increased material costs, also higher production costs.

Such disadvantages, particularly in the case of the mass article available according to the application, also speak against the use of, for. B. described in US-A-3583624 non-generic fastenings of container bottoms for the attachment of ice cream packaging lids.

For the deviating task envisaged there - stable fastening of a bottom carrying the container contents, which does not have to be removed again - such known solutions with appropriate, thick and stiff materials suitable also for the complex prior introduction of pre-perforations may be useful, but not for the Generic hygienic perfect closure of an easily tearable jacket of ice cream packaging with a removable lid.

The invention has for its object to provide a packaging container that ensures a stable, secure and hygienic closure even with higher mechanical and thermal stresses and is relatively simple, inexpensive and environmentally friendly.

According to the invention, it is proposed in a packaging container of the type specified in the introduction that the unfolded edge flap is firmly connected to the lid to form a stiffening bead and folds.

The connection is advantageously an adhesive layer, preferably an activated sealing layer, which can be arranged on the edge tab of the outer jacket and / or on the lid surface.

The solution according to the invention ensures a dimensionally stable, hygienically perfect closure due to the special firm connection between the marginal flap and the stable lid, even against impact loads.

The reinforcing bead, as a reinforcing bead, allows the ice cream packaging to be handled robustly. The reinforcement of the container is further favored by the adhesive bonding of the folded-over edge flaps, which are also glued to one another in their folded position, so that even in extreme cases a secure holding of the lid is still ensured even if the lid itself is for some reason with the folded overlap should no longer be glued.

A substantial stabilization of the opening area, which is at risk from improper stresses, is achieved with optimal use of the simple materials that are later used as empty packaging, which do not harm the environment, e.g. B. cardboard lid and paper outer jacket, which also allow easy production with high cycle rates.

This welded area is also of particular advantage insofar as the welding within the overlapping folds 5 results in a fixed annular collar which still stabilizes the stiffening bead 4, but in particular also secures the cardboard lid 2 against falling out, if in extreme cases firm connection between edge tab 3 and cardboard lid 2 should be destroyed.
