Abstract

The plug has its contact pins either in a longitudinal or transverse direction. Each pin sits in a hole open on two orthogonal sides to provide two entrances 90 degrees apart. The holes are at appropriate places in the plug's two-part casing. Each pin is fixed into a seating block inside the casing. The block fits into the casing in either of two positions to allow the pin to project from either one of the two holes in the casing. Each block has a blank projection to block off the unused hole. The casing halves are disconnected by unscrewing a screw, separated and the blocks changed in position. The casing halves are then screwed together again.
