Definitions
- the invention relates to a combination tool in the form of a pair of scissors with two articulated double levers which have the cooperating cutting edges on one lever arm and the handles on the other lever arm.
- the invention provides that, in a tool of the type described in the introduction, the lever arms having the handles are jointly hammerhead-shaped, and the lever arm carrying the counter cutting edge has a longitudinal recess for receiving the lever arm carrying the cutting edge, the lever arms together being one have a closed cross-section in the closed position.
- the lever arms carrying the cutting edge or the counter cutting edge together serve in the closed position of the combination tool as a hammer handle, which thus represents a safe and handy handle.
- the rear, front and / or side windows of a motor vehicle can be smashed by inexperienced people with little effort. This is an important prerequisite for the fact that, on the one hand, the people who arrive first at the scene of the accident get into the interior of the car, but, on the other hand, the people can possibly free themselves from an accident vehicle.
- the combination tool according to the invention can also be used as effectively as scissors, for example for quickly severing the seat belt, from which an accident victim can still be involved, in particular if the buckle of the belt cannot be reached or is jammed by the helper.
- the hammer head consisting of the handles has a pointed outer profile on one side of the lever arm and a rounded outer profile on the side of the other lever arm.
- This design of the hammer head provides a high degree of flexibility and optimal usability of the combination tool according to the invention. So it is quite possible to easily smash a window of a vehicle if you first punch a hole in the window with the pointed outer profile of the hammer head, which is then broken out further with the rounded outer profile of the hammer head.
- this provides that the lever arms forming the hammer head are laterally flattened perpendicular to the hinge axis of the double lever.
- a hammer head flattened in this way in comparison to conventional hammers can be used more easily as a handle if the combination tool is used as a lever in order, for. B. open jammed doors.
- the hammer handle can be used as a lever to initially expand the door gap a little and then finally to open the door completely.
- lever arms forming the handles have thickening of the material. This increase in the dead weight of the hammer head significantly improves the effectiveness of the combination tool as a hammer. A relatively good effect can be achieved with a small amount of force, which is particularly important because the people who handle the combination tool in such circumstances may be in shock themselves or may even be injured themselves.
- one of the lever arms forming the handles has an approximately circular opening for reaching through the thumb and the other has an elongated hole opening for reaching through the other fingers of the hand.
- a compromise must be found between two equal demands on the tool.
- it should be manageable as scissors and, through the corresponding design of the opening, should ensure optimal power transmission from the hand of the user to the cutting edges of the scissors. This is particularly important because the seat belts, with which the victim may still be strapped and which are made of very strong material, must be severed quickly in the event of an accident.
- the openings for the fingers must not be too large so that the mass of the hammer head is not unduly reduced and the effectiveness of the tool is impaired when used as a hammer.
- the invention furthermore offers the possibility that the lever arm carrying the counter cutting edge is of approximately U-shaped cross section and that one U leg is shorter than the other and that the cutting edge of the other lever arm engages in the space between the two U legs and the end face of the shorter U-leg serves as a stop surface next to the cutting edge of the other lever arm.
- the abutment surfaces of the cutting edges support each other firmly. This measure is especially with regard to the required handiness and an optimal one Power transmission of the tool according to the invention is of great importance.
- this provides that the lever arms carrying the cutting edges have a circular to oval rod cross-section in the closed position and the lever arm carrying the cutting edge takes up about a quarter of this cross-section on which a cross-sectional triangular cutting edge is placed.
- These lever arms can of course also have a polygonal cross-sectional area. It only has to be ensured here that the combination tool according to the invention enables effective handling when used, be it as a hammer or as scissors.
- the combination tool 1 consists of two double levers 2 and 3, which are preferably articulated to one another with a screw or rivet connection 4.
- the double lever 2 as is particularly clear from FIG. 2, has two parallel outer edges 5 and 6 in the upper half, as seen from the viewpoint of the beholder, which are connected to one another via a semicircular curve 7.
- the outer edge 5 pivots below the bore 8 of the articulated connection 4 in a circular arc outwards to point 9.
- the outer edge 6 runs a little longer than the outer edge 5 and continues according to the description of a narrow circular arc 12 at 20 to 30 ° into a straight edge 13 to point 10. Points 9 and 10 are connected by a flat arch 11.
- the double lever 3 also has two parallel outer edges 14 and 15, which are connected at their upper end in the illustrated embodiment of the invention with a circular arc 16 which comprises approximately 90 °. Approximately at the level of the bore 8 of the screw connection 4, both outer edges 14 and 15 pivot outward at an angle of approximately 45 °. As it continues (FIG. 1), the distance between the outer edges 14 and 15 increases, the outer edge 15 merging into an arc 17.
- the outer edge 14 also shows, at the height corresponding to the circular arc 12 of the outer edge 6, an opposite circular arc 12 'which merges into an edge 13' of the double lever 3 corresponding to the edge 13 of the double lever 2. Seen in cross section (FIG.
- the lever arm 2a of the double lever 2 is approximately U-shaped in the region of its parallel outer edges 5 and 6, the one U-leg 18 being shorter than the leg 19.
- the lever arm 3a of the double lever 3 corresponds in cross-section seen (Fig. 5 and 7) about a quarter of an oval 21, with a triangular extension 22.
- the inner edge of the lever arm 3a represents the cutting edge 23.
- Corresponding to the counter cutting edge 24 corresponds to the inside of the longer U-leg 19 of the lever arm 2a .
- the triangular extension 22 of the lever arm 3a, which forms the cutting edge 23, projects into the intermediate space 20 formed by the U-legs 18 and 19 of the lever arm 2a.
- a contact surface 25 runs on the lever arm 3a.
- the two double levers 2 and 3 pivot about the common hinge axis 4.
- the surfaces 30 and 31 of the double levers 2 and 3 sliding on one another are flattened perpendicular to the hinge axis 4 of the double lever (see FIGS. 3 and 4 ).
- the lever arms 2b and 3b together forming the handle of the tool are hammerhead-shaped (FIG. 1) and have a bead-like thickening 27 along their outer edges 5, 11 and 17, 15 (FIGS. 5 and 6).
- a circular opening 29 for the passage of the thumb is provided in the surface of the lever arm 3b, and an elongated hole 28 for the passage of the other fingers of the hand is provided in the surface of the lever arm 2b.
- the combination tool can consist, for example, of surface-hardened steel that is tough at the core and can preferably be at least partially coated with a plastic jacket or lacquer. If it is used as a hammer, the lever arms 2a and 3b carrying the cutting edges in the closed position (see FIG. 1) serve as a hammer handle and the lever arms 2b and 3b together as a hammer head, which is pointed on one side and rounded on the opposite side Has profile. When using the combination tool as scissors, the hammer head serves as a scissor handle. In order to ensure that the combination tool is also within easy reach when required, it is advisable to attach it to the front part of the passenger compartment, the dashboard or the console using clamps.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a combination tool in the form of a pair of scissors with two articulated double levers which have the cooperating cutting edges on one lever arm and the handles on the other lever arm.
It is common practice to design tools so that they can serve several purposes at the same time, for example a combination pliers that can be used as pliers and flat pliers. This is intended to enable users to avoid having to keep a large number of special tools in stock. This applies to workshop or home use as well as to the use of tool kits in vehicles.
The accident statistics show an alarmingly high number of traffic victims every year, and experts point to theirs. Accident analyzes repeatedly point out that quick help could have saved some lives. However, such relief measures can only be effective if the injured persons are outside their vehicle. However, if the occupants are stuck in their car after an accident, they must first be released. But there is usually a lack of a suitable tool at the scene of the accident that enables quick and effective action.
This problem, which often occurs in the context of accident assistance, is remedied with the present invention, and at the same time the need for a tool which is versatile in general use is satisfied.
To solve this problem, the invention provides that, in a tool of the type described in the introduction, the lever arms having the handles are jointly hammerhead-shaped, and the lever arm carrying the counter cutting edge has a longitudinal recess for receiving the lever arm carrying the cutting edge, the lever arms together being one have a closed cross-section in the closed position. This means that one and the same tool can be used both as scissors and as a hammer. When using the striking tool, the lever arms carrying the cutting edge or the counter cutting edge together serve in the closed position of the combination tool as a hammer handle, which thus represents a safe and handy handle. With the help of such a combination tool z. B. in an accident, the rear, front and / or side windows of a motor vehicle can be smashed by inexperienced people with little effort. This is an important prerequisite for the fact that, on the one hand, the people who arrive first at the scene of the accident get into the interior of the car, but, on the other hand, the people can possibly free themselves from an accident vehicle. On the other hand, the combination tool according to the invention can also be used as effectively as scissors, for example for quickly severing the seat belt, from which an accident victim can still be involved, in particular if the buckle of the belt cannot be reached or is jammed by the helper.
Based on this general principle of the inventor This further provides that the hammer head consisting of the handles has a pointed outer profile on one side of the lever arm and a rounded outer profile on the side of the other lever arm. This design of the hammer head provides a high degree of flexibility and optimal usability of the combination tool according to the invention. So it is quite possible to easily smash a window of a vehicle if you first punch a hole in the window with the pointed outer profile of the hammer head, which is then broken out further with the rounded outer profile of the hammer head.
In a further embodiment of the invention, this provides that the lever arms forming the hammer head are laterally flattened perpendicular to the hinge axis of the double lever. A hammer head flattened in this way in comparison to conventional hammers can be used more easily as a handle if the combination tool is used as a lever in order, for. B. open jammed doors. Depending on the situation-related requirements, the hammer handle can be used as a lever to initially expand the door gap a little and then finally to open the door completely.
It has proven to be particularly advantageous that the lever arms forming the handles have thickening of the material. This increase in the dead weight of the hammer head significantly improves the effectiveness of the combination tool as a hammer. A relatively good effect can be achieved with a small amount of force, which is particularly important because the people who handle the combination tool in such circumstances may be in shock themselves or may even be injured themselves.
According to the invention it is further provided that one of the lever arms forming the handles has an approximately circular opening for reaching through the thumb and the other has an elongated hole opening for reaching through the other fingers of the hand. In this embodiment of the combination tool according to the invention, a compromise must be found between two equal demands on the tool. On the one hand, it should be manageable as scissors and, through the corresponding design of the opening, should ensure optimal power transmission from the hand of the user to the cutting edges of the scissors. This is particularly important because the seat belts, with which the victim may still be strapped and which are made of very strong material, must be severed quickly in the event of an accident. On the other hand, the openings for the fingers must not be too large so that the mass of the hammer head is not unduly reduced and the effectiveness of the tool is impaired when used as a hammer.
The invention furthermore offers the possibility that the lever arm carrying the counter cutting edge is of approximately U-shaped cross section and that one U leg is shorter than the other and that the cutting edge of the other lever arm engages in the space between the two U legs and the end face of the shorter U-leg serves as a stop surface next to the cutting edge of the other lever arm. In this way you get a solid profile of the hammer handle from the cutting edges of the scissors, which guarantees effective power transmission when using the combination tool as a hammer. The abutment surfaces of the cutting edges support each other firmly. This measure is especially with regard to the required handiness and an optimal one Power transmission of the tool according to the invention is of great importance.
In a further embodiment of the invention, this provides that the lever arms carrying the cutting edges have a circular to oval rod cross-section in the closed position and the lever arm carrying the cutting edge takes up about a quarter of this cross-section on which a cross-sectional triangular cutting edge is placed. These lever arms can of course also have a polygonal cross-sectional area. It only has to be ensured here that the combination tool according to the invention enables effective handling when used, be it as a hammer or as scissors.

The combination tool 1 consists of two
The
The double lever 3 also has two parallel
Fig. 3 und 4).In the assembled state, the two
The
The combination tool can consist, for example, of surface-hardened steel that is tough at the core and can preferably be at least partially coated with a plastic jacket or lacquer.
