Abstract

A solderless electrical connector for producing a solderless connection between a multiple contact plug equipped with contact pins and a printed circuit board is provided with inserting segments at the free end of the contact pins which inserting segments are inserted by means of an additional insulating member into through-contacted bore holes of the printed circuit board. A tool having guide ducts formed to receive portions of the contact pins can also be used to press the contact pins into circuit board holes.

Diese Technik ist beispielsweise bereits aus der US-A- 4 125 935 bekannt, wobei bei einer speziellen dort gezeigten Ausführung auf eine Leiterplatte hin abgebogene, aus einem Isoliergehäuse ragende Kontaktstifte in dem einteiligen Gehäuse befestigt sind. Das Einpressen der Kontaktstifte in die Leiterplatte erfolgt dabei durch ein spezielles Werkzeug, das auf der Obeseite des Gehäuses und auf den Oberseiten der aus dem Gehäuse ragenden Kontaktstifte aufliegt. Eine solche Ausgestaltung führt jedoch sehr häufig zu Fehlsteckungen bzw. Beschädigungen durch Verbiegen der Kontaktstifte bei der Montage, weil hier das Einpressen durch Druck auf die Oberseiten der Abwinkelungen erfolgt, also weit entfernt von der eigentlichen EinpreßsteIle an der Leiterplatte und die langen, relativ dünnen Kontaktstifte somit im Zwischenbereich überhaupt keine seitliche Führung erhalten.This technique is already known, for example, from US-A-4 125 935, wherein in a special embodiment shown there bent contact pins protruding from an insulating housing are fastened in the one-piece housing. Abgesehen davon, daß es sich hier um keine auf die Leiterplatte hin abgewinkelten Kontaktstifte handelt, wird auch bei dieser Ausführung der Einpreßdruck auf die Einpreßzone der Stiftenden von der Stiftoberseite her aufgebracht, ohne daß eine ausreichende seitliche Führung der Stifte bis zur Einpreßzone hin vorgesehen ist. Aufgabe der vorliegenden Erfindung ist es daher, an Steckverbindern der eingangs beschriebenen Art geeignete bauliche Maßnahmen vorzusehen, um auch hierdie moderne sowie technisch fortschrittliche Einpreßtechnik einfach und erfolgreich anwenden zu können, ohne daß die zuvor beschriebenen Mängel bei der Montage auftreten können.The object of the present invention is therefore to provide suitable structural measures on plug connectors of the type described at the outset in order to be able to use the modern and technically advanced press-in technology here simply and successfully, without the above-described defects occurring during assembly.

Claims (1)

1. Blade connector plug (2) for solder-free connection with the bore holes (5), which are contacted through, of a circuitboard (6), in which the contact pins (4) are fastened by their one ends in an insulating housing member (1) and bent over in one or more rows parallel to one another at right angles towards the circuitboard (6) and comprise a press-in portion (7) and a contact pin upper side (4a) projecting out of the insulating housing member (1), characterised thereby that the contact pins comprise shoulderlike abutments (8, 8a), which are shaped on directly above the press-in portions for limitation of the depth of pressing in, and are laterally guided in comblike or pocketlike slots (10), which are open at the front and rear sides, of a second insulating housing member (9) serving as a press-in tool as well as an insulating cover of the contact pins, so that the comblike or pocketlike slots (10) of the mounted insulating housing member (9) receive each contact pin (7) up to the abutment (8), wherein webs (11), which laterally bound the slots (10) and which are for direct transmission of the pressing in pressure to the abutments (8), are provided attheirfree ends (11 b) with lateral bearing parts (11a) corresponding to the uppersides of the shoulderlike abutments (8), and that the free ends (11 b) of the webs extend so far between the abutments that in the pressed-in state of the latter they lie on the upper side of the circuitboard (6).
