Definitions
- the invention relates to a method for scenting packaging containers.
- fragrances are usually contained directly in the product, so that the consumer has the fragrance experience both when opening the packaging and when using the products.
- fragrances are unstable to a large number of ingredients in washing and cleaning agents. This applies e.g. for chlorine as hypochlorite or bound to organic chlorine carriers, such as sodium dichloroisocyanurate and trichloroisocyanuric acid. Perborate in combination with bleach activators can also negatively affect the stability of fragrances. According to EP-A No. 4463, these disadvantages can be avoided by scenting the packaging material itself, in particular the carton used as packaging. Direct contact of the fragrances with the disruptive ingredients then practically does not take place. Preferably, the fragrances are applied to the inner top of the package with the aim of impregnating the cardboard material.
- a common disadvantage of the above-mentioned methods for scenting packaging materials is that larger containers, such as drum and carrier packages, round and rectangular drums, etc., which are increasingly used as packaging containers, only shortly before filling with the intended product can be scented. Longer storage or scenting in stock is not or hardly possible, since over time both the scent nuisance of the environment and the loss of fragrance itself would become too great. So far, these disadvantages can only be avoided if the containers are closed and sealed in films or stored in a cool place. However, such an approach is uneconomical.
- the invention has for its object to provide a method for scenting packaging containers, in which scenting is possible without significant fragrance losses and environmental nuisance occurring and cooling can also be dispensed with.
- the solution according to the invention in the method consists in that an absorbent carrier material is separately scented and attached to the inside of the container.
- packaging containers are advantageously scented with the aid of absorbent carrier bodies, in particular in disc form, which themselves have only indirect contact with the container.
- Disks made of absorbent cardboard laminated on one side with a metal or plastic film are preferably used. The film side faces the container wall and the cardboard side the interior of the container.
- the absorbent cardboard or cardboard material of the disc-shaped carrier should have a Cobb 30 value of more than 100 g / m 2 .
- the scented carrier material in particular in the form of a disc, is attached to the inner wall of the container by gluing or riveting, preferably in the upper space of the container.
- the carrier material is expediently attached in such a way that direct contact with the product contained in the container is avoided.
- the attachment is preferably carried out by riveting together with carrying handles or straps present on the container, for example the drum or the rectangular container.
- the carrier material in the form of a cardboard or cardboard disc also has a stabilizing function like a washer at the rivet point. This makes it possible, for example, to reduce the basis weight of the cardboard material used for the packaging from, for example, 700 to 800 g / m 2 up to 50 g / m 2 .
- a further advantage of the separately scented carrier disks as an indirect component of the packaging is that materials are to be used for producing the respective container which, owing to their low absorbency, are not even accessible to scenting with the help of perfume oils. Also with inner barrier layers, e.g. Packaging materials made of plastic, metal foil or barrier lacquers are to be used when using the separately perfumed fragrance carriers according to the invention.
- the scenting can be carried out by a central location which is spatially distant from the actual production site and packaging line and at which the fragrances of choice are to be applied to the carrier material. Because of the small volume of the fragrance carriers, the corresponding discs or other bodies can be stacked without difficulty, sealed in foils and / or stored in closed containers. Noteworthy or annoying fragrance losses therefore do not occur even without separate cooling.
- the use of the scented carrier materials is preferably carried out in the course of the assembly, that is to say shortly before the respective container is filled.
- the absorbent carrier files are preferably treated by spraying, dropping or knife coating with the fragrance to be used in pure form or as a paste. If the scented carrier materials are stored temporarily, which can take up to several weeks, the fragrance applied is evenly distributed in the absorbent carrier material without any action. Improvements and further refinements of the invention are described in the subclaims.
- FIG. 1 the head region of a drum 1 provided for example for holding detergent is shown in perspective.
- a carrying strap 3 is riveted to the drum 1 below the stabilizing bead 2.
- the corresponding rivet 4 has a relatively large head 5 on the outside of the carrying band 3 and is on the inside of the drum 1, i.e. on the inner wall 6 stabilized with the help of a scented according to the invention and taking over the function of a washer 7.
- a washer is required at least on the end of the rivet 4 to be riveted in order to stabilize or firmly seat the rivet in the wall of the drum, additional material is practically not required to carry out the invention in the schematically indicated exemplary embodiment.
- a washer simply use the disk made of carrier material, which is required anyway for scenting. The attachment of this disc can be postponed until just before the drum 1 is filled with the intended product. Since the carrying band 3 is to be fastened in the upper region of the drum anyway, there is practically no risk of any significant contact between the scented carrier material and the product content of the drum.

Abstract
Description
Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Beduften von Verpackungsbehältern. The invention relates to a method for scenting packaging containers.
Detergents and cleaning agents are usually offered in perfumed form. The fragrances are usually contained directly in the product, so that the consumer has the fragrance experience both when opening the packaging and when using the products.
However, fragrances are unstable to a large number of ingredients in washing and cleaning agents.
In practice, however, it has been shown that many cardboard materials absorb fragrances applied slowly by drops or spraying. The fragrances are therefore “nose-shaped” and there are visible spots. Furthermore, when the fragrances are sprayed and the associated fragrance nebulization occurs, there are considerable losses associated with odor nuisance in the environment. Therefore, the older application EP-A No. 0084821 describes a method for scenting packaging materials. proposed in which the fragrance is processed into a higher-viscosity paste before application and is applied in the form of the paste to the packaging material. In this case, direct perfuming of the products is again dispensed with, and the fragrance consumption is thereby considerably restricted. Furthermore, the use of the fragrance in paste form enables a technically feasible solution with special consideration of the reduced fragrance load at the workplace as well as reduced fragrance losses.
A common disadvantage of the above-mentioned methods for scenting packaging materials is that larger containers, such as drum and carrier packages, round and rectangular drums, etc., which are increasingly used as packaging containers, only shortly before filling with the intended product can be scented.
The invention has for its object to provide a method for scenting packaging containers, in which scenting is possible without significant fragrance losses and environmental nuisance occurring and cooling can also be dispensed with. The solution according to the invention in the method consists in that an absorbent carrier material is separately scented and attached to the inside of the container.
According to the invention, packaging containers are advantageously scented with the aid of absorbent carrier bodies, in particular in disc form, which themselves have only indirect contact with the container. Disks made of absorbent cardboard laminated on one side with a metal or plastic film are preferably used. The film side faces the container wall and the cardboard side the interior of the container. The absorbent cardboard or cardboard material of the disc-shaped carrier should have a Cobb 30 value of more than 100 g / m 2 .
The scented carrier material, in particular in the form of a disc, is attached to the inner wall of the container by gluing or riveting, preferably in the upper space of the container. The carrier material is expediently attached in such a way that direct contact with the product contained in the container is avoided. The attachment is preferably carried out by riveting together with carrying handles or straps present on the container, for example the drum or the rectangular container. The carrier material in the form of a cardboard or cardboard disc also has a stabilizing function like a washer at the rivet point. This makes it possible, for example, to reduce the basis weight of the cardboard material used for the packaging from, for example, 700 to 800 g / m 2 up to 50 g / m 2 .
A further advantage of the separately scented carrier disks as an indirect component of the packaging is that materials are to be used for producing the respective container which, owing to their low absorbency, are not even accessible to scenting with the help of perfume oils. Also with inner barrier layers, e.g. Packaging materials made of plastic, metal foil or barrier lacquers are to be used when using the separately perfumed fragrance carriers according to the invention.
The main advantages of the method according to the invention lie in the logistic area. In particular, the scenting can be carried out by a central location which is spatially distant from the actual production site and packaging line and at which the fragrances of choice are to be applied to the carrier material. Because of the small volume of the fragrance carriers, the corresponding discs or other bodies can be stacked without difficulty, sealed in foils and / or stored in closed containers. Noteworthy or annoying fragrance losses therefore do not occur even without separate cooling. The The use of the scented carrier materials is preferably carried out in the course of the assembly, that is to say shortly before the respective container is filled.
The absorbent carrier files are preferably treated by spraying, dropping or knife coating with the fragrance to be used in pure form or as a paste. If the scented carrier materials are stored temporarily, which can take up to several weeks, the fragrance applied is evenly distributed in the absorbent carrier material without any action. Improvements and further refinements of the invention are described in the subclaims.
Details of the invention are explained on the basis of the schematic drawing of an exemplary embodiment.
In the drawing, the head region of a
