Diese Wandung 8' erstreckt sich über den Umfang der im wesentlichen kreisabschnittförmigen Halterung und kann auch noch in Umfangsrichtung auf die Schneckenhalterplatte übergreifen. In der gleichen Ebene, in der sich im zusammengebauten Zustand die Eingriffsebene der Schnecke befindet, weist die Schneckenhalterung 5 Schlitze bestimmter Länge auf, welche die Montage der Schneckenwelle erleichtern und eine axiale Führung sicherstellen. Claims (17)

1. A container, especially a large-capacity garbage container made of plastic material, comprising a pivotable cover, which is secured to at least one pivot arm (2) and adapted to be pivoted about at least one pivot pin (25) provided on the laterial wall (1) of the container and which is held in its closed position by at least one spiral spring (20), and further comprising a device (30) which is used for increasing the tension of the spiral spring (20) and which is provided with an adjustment element (12), said spiral spring resting on said adjustment element (12), characterized in that the device (30) for increasing the tension of the spiral spring (20) is adapted to be actuated via a train of toothed gears (6, 13) acting on the adjustment element (12).
2. A container according to claim 1, characterized in that the train of toothed gears (6, 13) is positioned in the path of action o the spiral spring (20) acting on the pivot arm (2).
3. A container according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the train of toothed gears (6, 13) is a worm gearing.
4. A container according to at least one of the claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the adjustment element (12) is a disc provided with teeth (13).
5. A container according to claim 4, characterized in that the disc (12) is designed as a tooth lock washer having the teeth (13) provided on the outer circumference thereof.
6. A container according to claim 4 or 5, characterized in that there is provided a wall (16) extending circumferentially along the outer circumference of the tooth lock washer (12) and defining a spring chamber (14).
7. A container according to claim 6, characterized in that the spring chamber (14) has provided therein a locking projection (15) for the spiral spring (20).
8. A container according to at least one of the claims 4 to 7, characterized in that the tooth lock washer (12) is provided with a central opening (17) and is arranged in a freely rotatable manner in the tensioning area of the device (30) for increasing the tension of the spiral spring (20).
9. A container according to at least one of the claims 4 to 8, characterized in that the tooth lock washer (12) is in mesh with a worm (6), which is guided in a holding means (5) within slots (27).
10. A container according to claim 9, characterized in that the slots (27) are positioned in the plane of the tooth lock washer (12).
11. A container according to claim 9, characterized in that the holding means (5) for the worm (6) is arranged on a worm holding plate (4), which is provided for reinforcing the pivot pin area of the pivot arm (2).
12. A container according to at least one of the claims 1 to 11, characterized in that the lateral wall (1) of the container has secured thereto a spring holding plate (18) for taking up the spring force of the spiral spring (20).
13. A container according to claim 12, characterized in that the spring holding plate (18) is provided with a pin projection (25) adapted to be inserted into a cylindrical reception means (26) of a support (3) of the pivot arm (2).
14. A container according to claim 12 or 13, characterized in that the spring holding plate (18) has provided thereon a projecting annular wall (21) extending around the pin projection (25) in spaced relationship therewith.
15. A container according to claim 14, characterized in that the annular wall (21) has provided therein an opening (22) for fastening the spiral spring (20).
16. A container according to at least one of the claims 9 to 15, characterized in that, for the purpose of increasing the tension of the spiral spring (20), the worm (6) is adapted to be rotated by means of a tool (29).
17. A container according to claim 16, characterized in that the tool (29) is an attachment wrench, which is adapted to be attached to the worm shaft (7) fixedly connected to the worm (6).
