Abstract

1. A radiant unit for a cooking range or the like, having a glass-ceramic plate (3) disposed above said radiant unit, said radiant unit consisting of a plate-shaped, coiled heater-filament support (1), made of a high-temperature resistant material, for supporting an electric coiled heater-filament (7), characterized in that the coiled heaterfilament support (1) has a relatively good thermal conductivity of > lambda = 0.3 W/m degree at about 1000 degrees C.
