Definitions
- the invention relates to a gripper clip projectile for weaving machines, with a housing and a thread clip attached therein with two axially extending legs, each provided with a jaw at their ends.
- the invention has for its object to provide a gripper clip projectile of the type defined, which is suitable for interacting with a weft nozzle. According to the invention, this object is achieved by the features specified in the characterizing part of claim 1.
- the sub-claims define advantageous further developments.
- the projectile 1 has a housing 2 with a cavity 3.
- a weft thread clamp 4 is fastened in the cavity 3 and consists of two axially extending legs 5 and 6, each with a clamping jaw 7 and 8, respectively.
- the height h1 of the clamping jaws is only slightly less than the height h2 of the cavity 3, so that there is only a very slight play s between the two.
- opening the thread clamp 4 introduces a (not shown) clamp opener into the projectile, which presses the legs 5 and 6 apart.
- the clamping jaws 7 and 8 When the thread clamp is open, the clamping jaws 7 and 8 form a practically closed flow channel 10 with the inner wall 9 of the housing, so that the air which is blown into the projectile through a weft threading nozzle 11 and carries a weft end 12 'with it flows through the flow channel without turbulence and the weft end in essentially stretched between the jaws 7 and 8. If the clamp opener is removed and the clamp closes, the fastening of the weft thread end 12 'between the clamping surfaces 7' and 8 'of the clamping jaws is ensured. The air that flows out of the flow channel 10 leaves the projectile through openings 13 which are provided on both sides of the housing wall.
- the height h1 of the clamping jaws 7 and 8 is preferably at least twice as large as the diameter d of a channel 14 in the donor nozzle 11, which guides the weft thread 12. With this dimensional ratio indicated in FIG. 3, the air flow through the flow channel 10 is almost laminar, so that the weft end 12 ′ is introduced into the flow channel practically in a straight line.
- both clamping jaws 20 and 21 of a (partly drawn) thread clamp 22 are provided on their clamping surface 23 or 24 with a recess 25 or 26 such that they form a conical centering opening 27 when the thread clamp is closed. This arrangement makes it even easier for a thread end to penetrate into the flow channel between the clamping jaws.
- FIGS. 5 and 6 is behind the jaws 30 and 31 of a thread clip 32 an insert in the form of a nozzle 33 which is attached to the housing inner wall of the projectile.
- An inlet channel 34 of the nozzle connects to the flow channel, which is present between the jaws 30 and 31 when the thread clamp is open.
- An outlet channel 35 of the nozzle opens approximately in front of outlet openings 36 on both sides of the housing of the projectile.
- FIG. 7 also shows a projectile with a nozzle 42 arranged behind the clamping jaws 40 of a thread clamp 41.
- the nozzle has an inlet channel 43 which merges into two outlet channels 44 and 45.
- the outlet channels are aligned with outlet openings 46 and 47, which are provided in a wall 48 of the housing.
- a donor nozzle 49 inserts a weft end 50 ′ of a weft thread 50 into the inlet channel 43, whereupon the thread clamp 41 is closed. Since the air leaves the projectile directly through the outlet channels 44 and 45 and the openings 46 and 47 after exiting the nozzle, no flight can settle in the housing, which could otherwise impair the correct functioning of the thread clamp.
- a nozzle 55 is formed by local deformation of a housing wall 56 of the projectile.
- the housing wall is cut on both sides along the lines of the projectile a and b and the section lying between the lines is cut in a direction transverse to it.
- the lips 57 and 58 formed on one side of this dividing line on both sides of the housing are then deformed in such a way that the nozzle 55 is created behind the clamping jaws 59.
- the two lips 60 and 61 on the The other side of the dividing line is bent inwards into a cavity 62 of the projectile, so that the lips on the one hand form two outlet channels 63 and 64 and on the other hand close off the cavity behind.
- a thread clamp 70 of a projectile has two legs 71 and 72 with stepped clamping jaws 73 and 74, so that the clamping jaws partially overlap one another.
- the jaw 73 has a first step 75 and a second step 76
- the jaw 74 has a first step 77 and a second step 78.
- the first stages 75 and 77 of the jaws run parallel when the clamp is closed.
- the same also applies to the second stages 76 and 78.
- the latter stages 76 and 78 form the actual clamping surfaces 76 'and 78' of the thread clamp.
- the jaw 73 has a funnel-shaped centering channel 79, which ends before the second stages 76 and 78 of the jaws.
- One end 80 'of a weft thread 80 is blown by a donor nozzle 81 into the centering channel 79 and from there between the clamping surfaces 76' and 78 'of the thread clip.
- both clamping jaws 85 and 86 of a thread clamp 87 have a centering channel 88 or 89, the outlet openings 90 of which, however, end in the clamping surface 85 'or 86'.
- the weft thread end 93 'blown in by a donor nozzle 92 reaches the clamping surface 85' through the outlet opening 90 of the centering channel 88.
- the other centering channel 89 is used in the next shot because the projectile is rotated through 180 ° about its longitudinal axis during its cycle. If a double shot is entered, both centering channels 88 and 89 are used simultaneously. Fig. 13 shows this.
- the projectile now interacts with two donor nozzles 95 and 96, each of which feeds a weft thread 97 or 98 simultaneously or according to a special sample program. Both ends 97 'and 98' of the weft threads are simultaneously gripped and clamped by the closing jaws.
- a projectile 105 has a thread clip 106 which ends in front of a funnel-shaped centering insert 107 in the projectile.
- An inlet 108 'of an inlet chamber 108 of the centering insert has dimensions which correspond to those of an outlet 109 of a transmitter nozzle 110.
- An outlet opening 111 of the centering insert 107 ends in the middle of the two clamping jaws 112 and 113 of the thread clamp.
- the donor nozzle 110 retains all weft threads until one is to be entered according to a pattern, in which case the end in question, e.g. the end 114 'of a weft thread 114 is blown through the centering insert 107 between the clamping jaws 112 and 113.

The
The height h1 of the
In the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 4a and 4b, both clamping
In a further embodiment, FIGS. 5 and 6, is behind the
In the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 10 and 11, a
Fig. 13 zeigt dies. In the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 12, both clamping
In the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 14 and 15, a projectile 105 has a
