Description

The invention relates to a cardboard packaging with a locking tab, which is formed on a wall of the packaging via a neck piece and has locking shoulders, and with a slot arrangement in which the locking tab engages.

A cardboard packaging with three locking tabs is known from US Pat. No. 3,767,042. Sealing this packaging is relatively complicated since all three locking tabs have to be inserted into corresponding recesses at the same time.

Starting from this prior art, the invention is based on the object of creating a cardboard packaging of this type, the closure device of which is simple and easy to hook and which nevertheless functions reliably.

This object is achieved according to the invention in that a first cut line with two S-shaped sections and a straight section is provided as the slot arrangement, which forms two tabs separated from one another by the straight section, and in that two further cut lines from this first cut line on the respective one Go out at the end of the straight section.

In the finished state of the cardboard packaging, the locking shoulders can engage behind these tabs, the tabs being designed so flexibly by the two further cutting lines that the locking tab can easily slide past them when hooked together.

It is very advantageous if, according to the invention, the two further cutting lines converge from the first cutting line. This gives the flaps a relatively large articulation width, which serves for a secure closure.

It is also very advantageous if, according to the invention, a third cutting line is provided which is at least approximately perpendicular to the straight section. This results in a further flexibility of the locking device.

A further embodiment of the cardboard packaging according to the invention is characterized by two adjoining walls which are connected to one another by a fold line, the cut lines being arranged in one of these walls and the first cut line forming a slot when the two walls are folded, which runs along the fold line, and in that a further wall surface (closure flap) is provided which at least partially overlaps the first wall and which bears the locking tab which is inserted through the slot (cutting line) and whose locking shoulders engage behind the tabs, the neck piece being centered between the tabs is.

In addition to a secure closure of the cardboard packaging, this embodiment of the invention ensures that the two closure flaps are aligned with one another.

It has also proven to be very advantageous if, according to the invention, the tips of the flaps are at a distance from the center of the fold line.

This makes it much easier to insert the locking tab.

In the case of cardboard packaging for objects arranged in two rows with an inner closure flap and an outer closure flap, it has turned out to be advantageous according to the invention if the inner closure flap has several openings, each with a slot-like extension, and the outer closure flap has the same number of spacer tabs. which can be inserted into the slot-like extensions and protrude into the interior of the packaging, thereby forming spacers for the objects in the two rows.

This prevents the objects from being beaten up during transport, which is particularly advantageous for sensitive objects.

It is also very advantageous if, according to the invention, the spacer tabs are hooked onto the inner closure flap.

This further secures the closure.

This securing is further improved if, according to the invention, the spacer tabs are engaged behind projections of the inner closure flaps.

These projections give the spacer tabs an additional hold.

Furthermore, it is advantageous if, according to the invention, the slot-like extension forms two projections which are delimited by two cutting lines, as a result of which the projections are movable.

The projections can thereby dodge when inserting the spacer tabs, so that the force required for ice tucking is relatively low.

The blank designated 14 in Fig. 1 is substantially rectangular and made of cardboard. The blank 14 has an upper cover wall section 16, on which oblique surfaces 18 and 20 are provided on each opposite side and are connected to the upper cover wall section 16 by fold lines 22. Side walls 24 and 26 are with fold lines 28 with these inclined surfaces 28 and 20 connected. The blank 14 also has an inner closure flap 30, which is connected to the side wall 24 by an interrupted fold line 32, and an outer closure flap 34, which is connected to the side wall 26 by a fold line 36. The outer closure flap 34 has a central fold line 38 which divides the outer closure flap 34 into two halves 40 and 42. Both flaps 30 and 34 form the bottom of the packaging in the erected state. The blank 14 ends in a locking tab 44 which protrudes from the outer closing flap 34 and is connected to the outer closing flap 34 by a fold line 46. All of the fold lines mentioned run transversely to the blank 14, but along the upright packaging.

The sloping surfaces 18 and 20 have circular openings at such locations that the neck parts can be received by containers to be packaged. So that the blank 14 fits tightly around the containers C to be packed, the blank 14 also has openings 50 which are provided along the fold lines 36 in accordance with the position of the containers in the packaging. The blank 14 has two spacer tabs 52, which are formed by cutting lines 54, which end along the folding line 38, from the outer part of the closure flap 42. The connecting line 56 of the spacer tabs to the inner part 40 of the outer closure flap which runs along the fold line 38 is shorter than the tab width, whereby relatively short shoulder pieces 58 are formed.

The inner flap 30 has two openings 60 that are aligned with the spacer tabs 52. Each opening 60 ends in a slot-like extension 62 that runs longitudinally to the packaging. The slot-like extension 62 has two bendable projections 64 at each end, which are delimited by an oblique cutting line 66. The locking tab 44 cooperates with a slot assembly 68 that lies between the ends of the broken fold line 32, as shown in FIG. 2. The slot assembly 68 is primarily within the inner flap 30 and is spaced from each other by generally S-shaped cut line portions 70 that terminate in straight cut line portions 72 converging with each other. These cutting line parts delimit tabs 74 which are formed entirely from the inner flap 30 and the tips of which are at a distance from the center line 76 of the interrupted fold lines 32. The straight cutting lines 72 are connected by a cutting line section 78 which runs parallel and at a certain distance from the interrupted folding line 32. The slot arrangement 68 also has a centrally located cutting line 80, which runs from the cutting line 78 along the blank 14 and ends at the point where it would meet an imaginary extension of the cutting lines 72. When the inner flap 30 is folded at right angles to the side wall 24 - which occurs when the package is erected - those parts which lie within the cut line sections 70 and 78 and which are connected to the side wall 24 assume a vertical position , whereby an open slot 82 is formed through which the locking tab 44 can be pushed through unhindered. This locking tab 44 consists of a narrow neck piece 84 and a head piece 88, which is connected to the closing flap via central pieces. The tab 44 has two locking shoulders 86 adjacent to the neck piece. The neck piece 84 is slightly shorter in width than the distance between the tips of the tabs 74. The locking tab 44 is inserted vertically through the slot 82 of the finished packaging and the shoulder pieces 86 engage behind the tab 74. Since the slot 82 is formed only by cut lines, the locking tab 44 in the slot 82 is pressed firmly against the upright side wall 24 by the projecting parts (tab 74) of the inner closing flap 30. In this way, the locking tab 44 remains locked with the inner closure flap 30.

The blank 14 is wrapped around four containers C (FIG. 3), the upper cover surfaces 16 and the inclined surfaces 18 and 20 engaging the upper sections of the containers C and the side walls 24, 26 being folded down next to the containers. The inner flap 30 is then folded under the container C in order to assume the position that is particularly evident from FIG. 4. The outer closure flap 34 is then folded along the fold line 35 in order to contrast the spacer tabs 52 with the slot-like extensions 62. The spacer tabs 52 are then pushed through the slot-like extensions 62 between the two rows of containers, as shown in FIGS. 3 and 4.

The outer section 42 of the outer closure flap 34 and the locking flap 44 articulated thereon are finally pivoted in order to push the locking flap upward through the slot arrangement 68 and through the slot 82, respectively.

Claims (9)

1. Board pack with a male locking tab (44) that is joined to a panel of the pack by a neck and has locking shoulders (86) and with a female slot arrangement in which the male locking tab engages, wherein the female slot arrangement consists of a first cut line with two S-shaped sections (70) and a straight section (78) which forms two tabs (74) separated from each other by the straight section (78) and wehrein two further cut lines (72) extend from this first cut line starting at each end of the straight section (78).

2. Board pack according to claim 1, wherein two further cut lines (72) converge away from the first cut line.

3. Board pack according to claim 2, wherein there is a third cut line (80) which is located at least approximately at right angles to the straight section (78).

4. Board pack according to one of the previous claims, wherein there are two adjacent panels (24, 30) joined by a fold line (32), the cut lines (70, 78 and 72) being formed in one of these panels (30), the first cut line (70, 78) forming a slot when the two panels (24, 30) are folded which extends along fold line (32) and wherein there is a further panel (closure flap 42) overlapping at least part of the first panel (30) and carrying the male locking tab (44) which projects through the slot (cut line 70, 78) and has locking shoulders (86) projecting beyond the tabs (74), the neck being centred between the tabs (74).

5. Board pack according to claim 4, wherein said tabs (74) have tips offset from the centre (76) of the fold line (32).

6. Board pack according to one of the previous claims for receiving articles (C) in two rows, comprising an inner closure panel (30) and an outer closure panel (42), wherein the inner closure panel (30) has several openings (60), each of which has a slot-like extension (62) and the outer closure panel (42) has the same number of spacing tabs (52), which project through the slot-like extensions (62) into the inside of the pack and act as spacers for the second row of objects.

7. Board pack according to claim 6, wherein the spacing tabs (52) are locked to the inner closure panel (30).

8. Board pack according to claim 6 or 7, wherein the spacing tabs (52) lock behind projections (64) on the inner closure flaps (30).

9. Board pack according to claim 6, 7 or 8, wherein the slot-like extension (62) has two projections (64) limited by two cut lines (66), as a result of which the projections are movable.
