Description

The invention relates to a mechanical lock according to the preamble of claim 1.

In US-A-4 030 325 a so-called learning lock is described, which can be programmed by manipulations on any key from a predetermined variety. The advantages of such a learning lock are obvious and are even more important if the associated keys themselves can also be changed or adjusted. Such a variable key is described in the cited US Pat. No. 4,030,325, but it is structurally complicated and complex and, furthermore, also relatively difficult to adjust. In addition, it is relatively difficult with this key to keep the key information or key combination set in mind.

Schlosskombinationen leicht merken lassen.Such a mechanical lock is to be improved by the present invention in such a way that its variable key is structurally relatively simple and can be adjusted easily and simply and that the set key or lock combination can be easily memorized.

The lock according to the invention is described in claim 1. Preferred embodiments result from the dependent claims.

The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to an embodiment shown in the drawing. Show it :
  • FIG. 1 shows a partially broken section through the lock perpendicular to the lock axis,
  • FIG. 2 shows an axial section through the key,
  • Figure 3 is a view of the key in the direction of arrow 111 in Fig. 2 and
  • 4 shows a sectional view of the key along the line IV-IV of FIG. 2nd

The lock shown is constructed exactly the same as the lock described in the already mentioned US-A-4 030 325 except for the differences to be explained. Fig. 1 corresponds directly to Fig. 1 of US-A-4 030 325, so that a more detailed description and illustration of the lock should be unnecessary. In this sense, the disclosure of US-A-4 030 325 is expressly to be understood as part of the present description.

The most important parts of the castle are a housing or stator 1, a main rotor 2, an additional rotor 3, a locking member 4, a number of z. B. ten axially one behind the other key scanning elements 5 and an equally large number of interacting with them transmission elements 6 and a total of 7 designated key, which in the present case is permanently mounted in the lock and rotatably mounted about the lock axis 0.

To understand the invention, it is only necessary to know that when the key 7 rotates during the opening or closing process, the scanning fingers 5a of the scanning elements 5 come into contact with the scanning surfaces 6a of the associated transmission elements 6 and thus via transmission elements 6 the keys 7 Scan key information contained in mechanical-spatial form. The transmission members 6 are pivotally mounted in the main rotor 2 by means of a bolt 6b and are pressed against the key 7 by means of a spring 6c. Their scanning lugs 6d formed at the end scan cam discs 71a, 71b ... 75a, 75b formed on the key 7, which contain or form the key information. The structure and interaction of the other parts of the lock and the function thereof are explained in detail in US-A-4 030 325 and are therefore not to be repeated here. Apart from the design of the key, the only difference from US-A-4 030 325 is that the key is scanned directly by the scanning elements 5, while in the present case this is done indirectly by means of the transmission elements 6.

As is apparent from Fig. 2, the key 7 is rotatably mounted in the end wall 8 of the lock. As the main components, it comprises a number of z. B. ten axially one behind the other cam discs 71a, 71b ... 75a, 75b, which are each rotatably connected to one another in pairs or in one piece. The pairs of cams are seated on coaxial hollow shafts 81-85 which are guided through the end wall 8 of the lock and are provided with handwheels 91-95 outside the lock. The individual pairs of cams can be rotated against each other by means of these handwheels.

Each cam disc forms a key information element and has five different discrete radius levels (FIG. 4), which are scanned by the scanning noses 6d of the transmission elements 6, which are only hinted at in FIG. 2. Five times five radius combinations are possible per pair of curves. Accordingly, each pair of curves is in 25 discrete angular positions with respect to a reference plane, here z. B. the drawing plane, adjustable, with a different radius combination or information element combination is scanned in each angular position. With the five pairs of curves shown, the total variety of variations of the overall key combination is 5 1 °, which in practice should be sufficient for most cases.

The number of 5 radius levels or gradations is of course not mandatory, ge just as little as the fact that two panes are rotatably connected to each other. It is only essential that each disc or disc combination (pair) has approximately as many different angular positions with different radii or combinations of radii as an alphabet has letters. This then allows the individual angular positions to be identified by the letters of the alphabet and, on the other hand, to manage with relatively few letters (digits) for the entire key combination. Since practically the entire alphabet is available for each angular position, the key combination can very easily be selected in such a way that meaningful words result, which makes it much easier to remember the key combination.

Die jeweils. eingestellte Schlüsselkombination ist durch ein Anzeigefenster 100 sichtbar.3 shows how the individual angular positions of the pairs of cams 71a, 71b ... 75a, 75b are identified by letters attached to the circumference of the end faces of the handwheels 91-95. The each. set key combination is visible through a display window 100.

In the present case, the key 7, as already mentioned, is permanently installed in the lock, so that the lock works as a so-called combination lock. Of course, it is also easily possible to design the key 7 and the lock in such a way that the key can also be removed or inserted, so that the lock then works as an ordinary lock with a socket key. In the present description, “key” is understood to mean that permanently installed or pluggable part which contains the (variable) key information, which is then scanned in the actual lock and compared with the key combination contained therein.

The lock, not shown and described here, is preferably a so-called learning lock, just like in US Pat. No. 4,030,325, the lock combination of which can be set to any key information by simple manipulation with the key. The operation and operation of such a learning lock is described in detail in US-A-4 030 325 and is exactly the same in the present case.

In the example shown in FIG. 2, each pair of cams 71a, 71b ... 75a, 75b is driven by its own handwheel 91-95. Of course, the drive or the angle adjustment of the pairs of cams could also be done, for. B. sequentially by means of a single handwheel or the like.

The most important advantages of the lock or its key described are that the set key or lock combination can be easily remembered, the key information or combination can be set easily and can be checked easily, the lock combination can be changed very easily in the case of the learning lock and practically no possibility due to the indirect scanning the acoustic detection of the set lock combination.
