Description

The invention relates to a padlock for connecting two links, in particular two end links of a chain, with a lock body, which has an outer tubular reinforcement jacket made of more resistant material than the lock body and two circumferentially open incisions for receiving a chain link and two transverse to one of these Incisions extending bearing bores, in which a lock cylinder which can be actuated with the aid of a key and is parallel to the bearing bores is installed in the lock body and a straight bolt is mounted longitudinally displaceably in each bearing bore, which leaves the associated cut of the lock body open in the extended open position and penetrates this cut in the closed position , thereby engages through the chain link inserted therein and from an S controlled by the lock cylinder, movably mounted to and from the bolt in the lock body, engaging in a circumferential groove of the bolt perrorgan can be held.

Padlocks of this type are known from DE-A-2 810 756 and have the general advantage that the lock body can be made of a relatively easily machinable material, in particular brass, and nevertheless by the arrangement of the outer tubular reinforcement jacket made of more resistant material, e.g. . B. hardened steel, a very high security against the padlock is achieved.

In the padlocks known from DE-A-2810756, the two bearing bores of the lock body and the latches which are mounted in a longitudinally displaceable manner therein are arranged coaxially to one another on the same side of the lock cylinder. The outer tubular reinforcement jacket is pushed axially parallel to the bolts or to the relevant bearing bores and to the lock cylinder in the lock body via the two adjacent, circumferentially open cuts of the lock body and each has a corresponding recess in the area of these cuts. The key opening of the lock cylinder is located on the one side of the lock body, which is not covered by the reinforcement jacket. The two bearing bores for the bolts also run out onto the head sides of the lock body, which are not protected by the reinforcement jacket. As a result, these known padlocks have the disadvantage that the reinforcing jacket is very weak due to the relatively large recesses in the area of the incisions of the lock body for receiving the chain links. In addition, the locking cylinder, which is not covered on the head side by the reinforcement jacket, can be attacked in the axial direction with a drilling tool and, as a result, can be broken open relatively easily. DE-A-2810756 provides additional covering of the head sides of the lock body with special front panels, but this embodiment requires additional material and labor and causes a corresponding increase in the manufacturing costs of the padlock.

The object of the invention is to remedy the above-mentioned disadvantages of the known designs and to achieve greater security against theft in the case of a padlock of the type described at the outset without additional components and practically without increasing the labor and cost.

This object is achieved according to the invention in that the two bolts and the corresponding bearing bores of the lock body are arranged on opposite sides of the lock cylinder and the associated incisions are provided for receiving the chain links in the relevant head sides of the lock body, and in that the outer tubular reinforcement jacket has its longitudinal axis transverse is directed towards the bolts and the locking cylinder and is provided with a lateral opening in the area of the bolt and the key opening of the locking cylinder.

In the design of the padlock according to the invention, the incisions intended to accommodate one chain link each are provided in the two opposite ends of the lock body, which are not covered by the reinforcing jacket. As a result, the outer tubular reinforcement jacket does not need to have any corresponding recesses in the area of these incisions and therefore practically retains its full resistance, which corresponds to an intact condition, since it is only provided with a lateral passage opening in the area of the two bolts and the key opening of the locking cylinder. These through openings are relatively small in order to bring about a noticeable weakening of the reinforcement jacket. At the same time, however, the locking cylinder is covered on the head side both on the side of the key opening around it and on the opposite side by the outer reinforcing jacket, as a result of which the opening of the locking cylinder is prevented or at least made very difficult by drilling parallel to the axis. Despite this significantly greater security against theft, the padlock according to the invention essentially does not require any additional components and does not require more work and costs than the previously known designs.

The padlock shown, intended for connecting two links, in particular two end links M and M 'of a chain, has an elongated lock body 2 which is approximately square in cross section and which has an incision 3 or 3' in its two opposite head sides for receiving one each Chain link M or M 'is provided. The incisions 3 and 3 'extend over the entire width of the lock body 2 and are each penetrated by a transverse, continuous bearing bore 5 and 5' provided in the lock body 2. In these two mutually parallel bearing bores 5 and 5 ', a bolt-like bolt 4 or 4' is mounted for longitudinal displacement. A locking cylinder 7 is arranged and fastened in an insertion bore 14 of the lock body 2 which is parallel to the two bearing bores 5 and 5 'and is provided centrally between these bearing bores.

The z. B. made of brass lock body 2 with an outer tubular reinforcement jacket 1 made of a more resistant material, for. B. hardened steel. This tubular reinforcement jacket 1 is directed with its longitudinal axis transversely to the bolts 4 and 4 'and to the lock cylinder 7 or to the corresponding bores 5, 5', 14 of the lock body 2, whereby it covers the two head sides of the lock body 2 with the relevant incisions 3 and 3 'releases and is flush with these top sides. Coaxial to the two bearing bores 5 and 5 ', the reinforcing jacket 1 has on one side of the padlock, for. B. on the left in Figures 1, 3 and 4, each have a through-hole 105 or 105 'through which the associated bolt-like bolt 4 or 4' projects outwards. On the side opposite these through bores 105 and 105 ', the outer reinforcement jacket 2 is provided with a through bore 8 which is arranged in the region of the key opening 207 of the locking cylinder 7 and which has precisely the size or shape required for the insertion and rotation of the key. As a result, the locking cylinder 7 is also largely covered on its head side corresponding to the through bore 8 by the outer, tubular reinforcement jacket 1. A complete covering of this head side of the lock cylinder 7 can be achieved with the aid of an additional cover disk 15, shown in FIG. 3, which is rotatably mounted coaxially to the lock cylinder 7 between the latter and the outer reinforcement jacket 1 and has a key through hole corresponding to the key opening 207 of the lock cylinder 7 .

The core of the locking cylinder 7, which can be rotated with the key, projects with a core shoulder 107 from the rear inner end of the locking cylinder 7 into the corresponding insertion hole 14 of the lock body 2 and is designed to control two locking elements 9-109 and 9'-109 ', which are equipped with two circumferential grooves 12 and 13 or 12 'and 13' of the two bars 4 and 4 'cooperate. In the illustrated embodiment, each locking member consists of a two-part locking pin 9, 109 or 9 ', 109' which is directed in a transverse to the insertion bore 14 of the Scpliess cylinder 7 or transverse to the bearing bore 5 or 5 'of the associated bolt 4 or 4' Bore in the lock body 2 is slidably mounted. Between the two parts 9 and 109 or 9 'and 109' of each locking pin, a helical compression spring 10 or 10 'is clamped, which on the one hand the inner locking pin part 109 or 109' against the core shoulder 107 of the lock cylinder 7 and on the other hand the outer locking pin part 9 or 9 'presses against the assigned bolt 4 or 4'. The rotatable, cylindrical core shoulder 107 of the lock cylinder 7 has two flats 11 and 11 'offset one from the other in the area of the locking pins 9, 109 and 9', 109 '. The locking pin parts 9 and 9 'cooperating with the bolts 4 and 4' have frustoconical free ends. The two circumferential grooves 12 and 13 provided in each bolt 4 and 4 'are delimited by conical side walls. The rear, d. H. However, in the vicinity of the inner end of the bars 4 and 4 'lying circumferential groove 13 is on its rear, d. H. the side corresponding to the inner transom end is bounded by a much steeper side wall. At their opposite, outer ends, the two bolts 4 and 4 'are each provided with a handle 104 or 104' for manual adjustment.

In the open position of the padlock, the core shoulder 107 of the lock cylinder 7 is rotated with the help of the key so that its flats 11 and 11 'face the inner locking pin parts 109 and 109' and, as a result, these locking pin parts 109, 109 'penetrate deeper into the insertion hole 14 allow for the lock cylinder 7, as shown in particular in Fig. 4. The outer locking pin parts 9 and 9 'can therefore resiliently deflect inwards and allow the two bolts 4 and 4' to be pulled out into an open position with the aid of their outer handles 104 and 104 ', in which they can hold the associated incisions 3 and 3 'release and be held by the resilient engagement of the outer locking pin parts 9 and 9' in the rear circumferential grooves 13 and 13 ', as shown in Fig. 4 for the upper bolt 4. The complete removal of the bars 4 and 4 'from the lock body 2 is prevented by the steeper rear boundary wall of the circumferential grooves 13 or requires the use of a very large tensile force. In the open position of the bolts 4 and 4 ', the two chain links M and M' to be connected to each other are inserted into a head-side recess 3 or 3 'of the padlock and the bolts 4 and 4' are then pressed into their closed position in which they pass through the associated incision 3 or 3 'and reach through the chain link M or M' inserted therein, as shown in FIG. 3. Since the core shoulder 107 of the locking cylinder 7 is also in its open position according to FIG. 4, the outer locking pin parts 9 and 9 'are pressed out of the rear circumferential grooves 13 and 13' when the bolts 4 and 4 'are pressed in and then engage after insertion the latch 4 and 4 'in the front . Circumferential grooves 12 and 12 '. As a result, the bolts 4 and 4 'are held in their inserted closed position, but are not yet locked. For this purpose, the core extension 107 of the lock cylinder 7 is rotated by the key by approximately 180 ° and brought into its closed position, in which the inner locking pin parts 109 and 109 'through the fully cylindrical surface parts of the core extension 107 resiliently outwards almost to the contact with the associated one , outer locking pin part 9 or 9 'are pressed, as shown in Fig. 3. The core shoulder 107 of the lock cylinder 7 thereby prevents the resilient disengagement of the outer locking pin parts 9 and 9 'from the front circumferential grooves 12 and 12' of the two bolts 4 and 4 'via the inner locking pin parts 109 and 109' acting as stops and locks them in their inserted closed position.

The outer ends of the bolts 4 and 4 'have a blind bore 6 at the head, as shown in FIG. 3 for the upper bolt 3. With this blind hole 6, the part of the latches 4 and 4 'projecting from the padlock in the closed position is weakened to such an extent that it is impossible to grasp and pull out the latches 4 and 4' with the aid of a break-open tool which allows the use of a large force, since the outer weakened , the bolt part which has been gripped with the demolition tool breaks off before the bolt is torn out.

The bearing bores 5 and 5 'for the bolts 4 and 4' and the insertion bore 14 for the lock cylinder 7 are designed as continuous bores in the lock body 2 and are closed off on the side opposite the bolt handle side or the key insertion side by the outer tubular reinforcement jacket 1. The incisions 3 and 3 'provided on the head side in the lock body 2 for receiving the chain links M and M' are designed as incisions which run transversely to the lock body 2 and are laterally closed by the outer tubular reinforcement jacket 1. This simplifies the manufacture of the padlock and increases its security. In the area of the lateral ends of the incisions 3 and 3 ', the tubular reinforcement jacket 1 can each have an outwardly projecting bulge 101, which correspondingly extends the width of the receiving space for the chain link M or M'. As a result, it is possible to choose the width of the lock body 2 smaller than the width of the chain links M and M 'to be connected and to cover them laterally to increase security by the outer tubular reinforcement jacket 1.
