Abstract
The thread (10) of a plastic screw cap for bottles has at least one interruption (14) dividing the thread before reaching an angle of 360 ° calculated from the beginning of the thread (12), so that when the screw cap comes to lie obliquely on the bottle thread in an unfavorable rotational position , the plastic screw cap can snap over the first turn of the bottle thread to take up a straight position.
Description
Die Erfindung betrifft eine Kunststoff-Schraubkappe für Flaschen. The invention relates to a plastic screw cap for bottles.
In the known plastic screw caps for bottles, there is a risk that when the screw caps are screwed onto the bottles by means of an automatic machine, the screw cap will lie obliquely on the bottle mouth or on the bottle thread. This is the case if the thread start (lower thread end) of the screw cap is in a range from 0 to approx. 180 ° of the bottle thread. Then the screw cap thread comes into contact with the bottle thread with the screw cap initially aligned with respect to the bottle over less than 180 °, so that the larger part of it comes over freely the bottle thread stands and the screw cap tilts or jams when put on, which must be done with a certain pressure. A screw cap that is tilted in this way is held by the machine in this tilted position when it is unscrewed, so that a correct screw connection does not come about.
The invention is based on the object to remedy this situation and to design a screw cap of the type mentioned in such a way that it can easily be screwed on properly by the machine.
This object is achieved according to the invention in that the thread (raised part) of the screw cap has at least one interruption dividing the thread before reaching an angle of 360 ° calculated from the thread start (lower thread end).
Diese Unterbrechung ermöglicht nun ein leichteres Aufweiten des Umfanges der Schraubkappe im Bereich der ersten Gewindewindung, so dass beim Aufsetzen der Schraubkappe innerhalb eines Drehbereiches, in dem die Schraubkappe ansonsten schräg zu liegen käme, nunmehr unter Adwand einer geringen Kraft die erste Windung des Gewindes der Schraubkappe über das erste Gewinde des Flaschengewindes überschnappenThis interruption now enables an easier widening of the circumference of the screw cap in the area of the first thread winding, so that when the screw cap is placed within a turning range in which the screw cap would otherwise lie obliquely, the first turn of the thread of the screw cap is now applied with a small force snap over the first thread of the bottle thread
Claims (8)
360° gerechnet vom Gewindeanfang (unteres Gewindeende/ 12) mindestens eine das Gewinde unterteilende Unterbrechung (14) aufweist.1. plastic screw cap for bottles, characterized in that
that the thread (raised part / 10) of the screw cap before reaching an angle of
Calculated 360 ° from the beginning of the thread (lower thread end / 12) has at least one interruption (14) dividing the thread.
Screw cap according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the thread ends at the interruptions gradually taper in width and height. can and thus the screw cap comes to lie flat and can be opened properly. The interruption is preferably provided at a point at which the force for snapping the screw cap thread over the bottle neck thread when the screw cap is put on, when it comes to lie at an angle, is the lowest on average.
This is based on the following facts. The greatest inclined position of the screw cap is achieved when the thread start lies on the thread start. In this case, however, it is also relatively easy with the known plastic screw caps to transfer the screw cap into a straight position by snapping it over the bottle neck thread, so that it can be screwed on properly. If the screw cap is rotated from the point at which the screw cap assumes its largest inclined position in the sense of being screwed on, then the inclined position gradually decreases in accordance with the thread pitch, but the one required for snapping over. Force increases until it reaches a maximum value and then decreases again. Finally, the screw cap lies with most of its first turn on the first turn of the bottle thread, so that there is no longer an inclined position.
Therefore, it is also advisable to indicate the interruption the position of the screw cap thread that is as far away from the beginning of the screw cap thread as the place of the beginning of the thread of the screw cap from the beginning of the bottle thread when the force to snap over is greatest. It is apparent from the above statements that, if there are no other special features, the point at which the interruption is provided on the screw cap thread will be approximately 90 ° away from the beginning of the thread of the screw cap. The threads of the screw cap and bottle can have several turns, but the interruption is always provided only in the first turn of the screw cap thread. Instead of one interruption, several interruptions can also be provided without departing from the scope of the invention. The invention is illustrated again in the accompanying drawing, which comprises two figures, of which FIG. 1 shows a view from below of the open side of the screw cap and FIG. 2 shows a section through the screw cap. The thread 10 of the screw cap with the thread start 12 is interrupted at point 14, the thread ends at the point of interruption 14 being chamfered as shown.
