Abstract

A board intended to be used as a writing surface is provided with a frame and with a complementary border constituting one inseparable entity. The frame is continuous all around the periphery with a cross-section comprising three flanges. One flange is external to the other two, a second flange is equipped with a rim positioned behind the board and bearing against a foot formed on the complementary border, and the third flange bears against the front face of the board.

Description

The present invention relates to a table, or a set of tables, each provided with a frame and more particularly intended to be used as a writing surface and / or incidentally, when it is of the enameled metallic type, also intended for adhere to it magnetized objects or comprising a magnet and, through these, non-magnetized objects, for example sheets of paper.

We already know different embodiments of framed paintings that can be used flat or even more generally intended to be placed against a wall and fulfilling the indicated functions; it is always either a frame made of several elements, which is fitted onto the edge of the table and which is then joined together in different ways, for example collage and other means of adhesion, or else an assembly which calls upon a certain number of accessory parts, nails, screws, brackets, etc., or else the table is placed by the rear of a frame of a part, the latter comprising in this case a beat against which we will maintain the table using a number of accessory parts, shims, nails, screws, etc.

Also provided in US-A patent No. 3711978 or in patent FR-A No. 1557246 a frame with two branches, but without using a complementary frame using one or more rear elements forming complete rear wall.

To make a framed picture according to the invention, no gluing or accessory fixing parts are used, but simply the picture is placed and inserted from the rear into the frame, this now and enclosing the edge of the table together with a complementary frame coming from him, from the back, inserting into the frame to form an inseparable whole.

To this end, the framed picture according to the invention is characterized in that the framing in one peripheral piece has a profile which has three. branches, two branches of which are angularly placed in relation to each other, one or a part of which is an extension of it serves as a support for the front face of the switchboard and the other branch of which is provided, towards the '' interior, a rim that can be supported indirectly on the rear face of the table under the effect of a tab of the complementary frame, when the latter rests on the rear face of the table, the complementary frame being in profile straight U-shaped, that is to say with two branches, at least one of the branches of the frame partially offering a certain elasticity, so that the frame, after the table has been inserted therein, tightens on it, the third complementary branch being external to the other two.

The fact that the painting is perfectly enclosed in the frame is particularly advantageous; indeed, it is thereby prevented from slipping into it.

The framed painting according to the invention includes a complementary rear frame, this, like the rear face of the frame, being arranged so as to be able to meet, for example, the following different criteria: being able to hang it on a wall, and this in both directions if it is rectangular; be able to use it flat, on a table for example; ability to hang various devices, for example a box, a hook, etc., to hold and place for example a marker, a scrubber, etc .; ability to hang a hinge on a first table to assemble a second and make a diptych, even a triptych.

Preferably, the framed table according to the invention is arranged so as to offer not one, but all of the criteria indicated above.

Referring to these various figures, 1 represents the table itself in a rigid enamelled sheet or other writing surface, 2 the frame which will appear on the side of the front face 1 a of table 1, as well as 'on the rear face 1b, by 3 the complementary frame which only appears on the rear face 1b of table 1.

The frame 2 comprises, as visible in profile (fig. 3, 3a, 4, 4a), at least two branches 2a, 2b angularly placed relative to one another, one of which 2a, provided with an extension 4, will serve as support for the front face 1a of the table and the other 2b of which is provided towards the inside with a flange 5 resting indirectly on the rear face 1b of the table under the effect a lug 6 which is provided with the complementary frame 3 when (fig. 3, 3a, 4, 4a) it rests on the rear face 1b of table 1.

So that the table 1 can be inserted in the frame 2 or even that the tab 6 of the complementary frame can also be inserted under the rim 5 of the frame and then be tightened there, it is necessary to be able to have a certain play in both directions more or less perpendicular to the table 1, arrow 7, as well as those more or less in the extension of the section of the table 1, arrow 8, and therefore of a certain elasticity of at least certain parts of the frame 2 and / or possibly of a certain part of the complementary frame 3.

It should be noted that, to insert the table 1 and / or the complementary frame 3, a certain elasticity and a certain spacing must be provided; it is important that we conversely ensure that, after this insertion, there is a sufficiently strong return to perfectly enclose the table 1 and that, for this, also make the distance at rest, that is to say without inserting the table between the line (or face) of the frame support 2 on the front face 1 of the table and the line (or face) of the complementary frame 3 on the rear face 1 b of the table, ie at less slightly less than the thickness of table 1.

When the frame 2 is made of a material having a certain elasticity, that is to say is in fact not sufficiently rigid, provision is made for the frame 2 to include in profile an additional complementary branch 2c and, for its part, that the complementary frame 3 has a U-shaped profile, that is to say with two branches 3a, 3b whose complementary branch 3b essentially aims to give rigidity to the complementary frame 3.

In its embodiment shown in FIGS. 2 to 5, there are, both in the profile of the frame 2 and the complementary frame 3, these complementary branches 2c and 3b but, moreover, these two parts 2 and 3 are designed so as to ensure the perfect holding of the table 1 , that is to say, perfectly enclose it and form an inseparable whole, but also according to other considerations of use.

Thus, the frame 2 (fig. 2 to 5) comprises three branches, one 2a at an angle to the other two 2b, 2c and which ends in an extension 4 parallel to the outer surface 1a of table 1, this extension 4 forms a small border serving as a stop for the use of a marker and therefore protects the frame (fig. 1). The two other branches 2b, 2c are parallel to each other and braced in a certain number of places around the perimeter of the frame 2, which increases its rigidity and, moreover, these spacers 9 (see fig. 2) will make it possible to produce a succession of cells 10.

For its part, the complementary frame 3 (fig. 2 to 5), in the form of a straight U, comprises two parallel branches 3a, 3b which are fairly distant from each other, so as to have, at the rear of the table , a peripheral band 11, fairly wide, making it possible to provide eyelets 12 in which we will be able to slide the fastening means (not shown).

To perfect the rigidity of the complementary frame 3 and ensure its proper insertion into the frame 2, there are provided (fig. 2), in a number of places of its outer perimeter over determined lengths, lugs 13 (fig. 2 ) formed by a third branch 3c, parallel to the other two 3a, 3b, and which will each slide into a cell 10, that is to say between the branches 2c and 2b of the frame (see fig. 3 and 4), so that both the complementary frame 3 and the frame 2 will constitute a massive unit capable of withstanding high service constraints. As perfectly visible in fig. 2, a certain number of empty cells 10 are kept, and this in order to be able to introduce the tab (not shown) or, more generally, a group, for example three aligned tabs, of the hooking means of a accessory or a hinge allowing to add to the first framed painting a second one (not shown).

At the four corners of the complementary frame 3, provision has been made for bumpers 14 (fig. 2), pieces of elastic material which are just placed and fixed (for example gluing) in a cavity 15 of the same shape (fig. 5) provided in the complementary frame 3. These buffers 14, which are, on the side of their outer faces 14a, (FIG. 5) in convex shape, have the function, on the one hand, of serving as a point of support for the framed painting and prevent it from scratching the surface on which it is used and, on the other hand, prevent it from slipping if it is used flat, for example on a table, without being hung.

Furthermore, these elastic buffers 14 protrude slightly from the rear plane of the framed picture and therefore keep it perfectly in place when it is hung by two points (use of two eyelets 12) on a wall.

Of course, these buffers 14 may be of different shape and structure from that shown and for example they could be small rubber nipples with conical attachment tab.

Preferably, as shown in FIG. 2, the eyelets 12 are of elongated shape and provided with a round opening 12a, enlargement by which the head of the hooking means (for example screw) can be introduced, to then slide this head in the elongated and narrower part 12b eyelet by lowering the framed table.

To ensure good stability, there is provided not an eye let 12 allowing a point of attachment to the upper horizontal part of the framed painting, but two eyelets 12 halfway up the vertical sides of the framed painting and therefore by two dots 'hanging. If the latter, as shown, is rectangular, an eyelet 12 is provided on each side, so as to be able to hang the framed picture both in the direction of its length and its width.

In the case of a triptych and even more particularly of a diptych, it is expected that the framed painting, which is hung on the wall and on which a second hinge is mounted, has a third point of attachment and therefore provision is made for 'use, in addition to the two eyelets 12 on the longitudinal sides, a third eyelet 12 on the lower side; to do this, as visible, the eyelet 12, which is provided therein, has a second, more odd part 12b ′ in the vertical direction.

As visible and shown in dotted lines in FIG. 2, to strengthen the complementary framework, two branches 3a, 3b are connected by transverse spacers 16.

If a certain number of elements are provided to increase the rigidity of the frame 2 and of the complementary frame 3, such as the doubling of the branches 2b, 2c and 3a, 3b of the spacers 9 and 16, etc., conversely, to allow the insertion of the complementary frame 3 in the frame 2, provision has been made in certain places of the perimeter for the thinning of the branch 2a (fig. 3, 4 and 5), and not in others (fig. 3a, 4a) , the presence of the rim 5 and the tab 6 (fig. 3a, 4a) but not in others (fig. 3, 4 and 5).

These are details of implementation, whether one is considering it or not; the invention is therefore not limited to the embodiment described and shown and, for example, the strip 11 of the complementary frame 3 can be used to stick an adhesive strip thereto allowing attachment by this means of the framed painting to a wall ; for aesthetic reasons, as shown in figs. 1 and 2, the four corners of the rectangular frame 2 are rounded, without that we must provide that it is the same for the table 1 itself; but, of course, we can provide many other forms.

Claims (6)

1. Board (1) provided with a frame (2) and with a supplementary frame (3) forming an inseparable whole, more especially intended to be used as a writing surface, characterized by the fact that the frame (2) consisting of one single peripheral piece has a section comprising three sides (2a, 2b, 2c), of which two sides (2a, 2b), placed at an angle one (2a) to the other (2b), of which the one (2a) or a part (4) in extension of it, acts as a support to the front face (1 a) of the board (1), and of which the other side (2b) is provided on the inside with a ledge (5) which can rest indirectly against the rear face (1 b) of the board (1), the supplementary frame'having an upright U-shaped section, i.e. with two sides (3a, 3b), at leat one of the sides (2a or 2b) of the frame (2) offering in part a certain elasticity, so that the frame (2), after the board (1) has been inserted into it, presses against the latter, the third supplementary side (2c) being outside the other two (2a, 2b).

Framed board according to Claim 1, characterized by the fact that the side (2a) placed at an angle or obliquely in relation to the other two (2b, 2c) ends with an extension (4) parallel to the front surface (1 a) of the board (1) and makes an abutment there, and the two other sides (2c, 2b) are parallel one to the other and braced at a certain number of points of the perimeter of the frame (2), such braces (9) forming a succession of cavities (10).

3. Framed board according to Claim 2, characterized by the fact that the supplementary .frame (3) includes, at a certain number of points on its outer perimeter, at specific intervals, projections (13) formed by a third side (3c) parallel to the two others (3a, 3b) and which can each slide into a cavity (10) in the frame (2).

Framed board according to any of Claims 1 to 3, characterized by the fact the two parallel sides (3a, 3b) of the supplementary frame (3) are sufficiently distant one from the other to have, behind the board (1), a peripheal strip (11) where eyelets (12) or other means of attaching the board to a wall can be provided.

5. Framed board according to Claim 4, characterized by the fact that, at least at the four corners of the strip (11) on the supplementary frame (3), a recess (15) is provided to fix elastic stops (14).

6. Framed board according to any of Claims 2 to 5, characterized by the fact that other empty cavities (10) or groups of empty cavities (10) are provided on the frame (2) into which hinge projections and other accessory devices n be slid.
