Abstract

The invention concerns a ski particularly a touring and/or cross-country ski, with a binding (10) for holding an anterior tongue-shaped extension of the sole of a ski shoe. The binding (10) is formed by a recess (16) provided in the ski body (12) extending in the longitudinal direction of the ski, with a sole latching apparatus (abutments 18, 18'; latching device 20 or locking device 20') for fixing the sole extension and thus the ski shoe in a positively locked and friction-locked manner. The ski binding (10) is thus provided in the ski body (12) in integrated manner, so that no parts protrude above the ski deck area (14). In this way a subsequent mounting of the ski binding (10) is no longer necessary. In addition, the skis can be shipped with the ski binding (10) mounted for conventional skis without binding, tightly packed against each other. Finally, there is no additional friction caused by the ski binding during the cross-country run in somewhat deeper snow.

Description

The invention relates to a cross-country ski with a binding for positively and / or non-positively holding a ski boot, the binding parts attached to the ski body being arranged recessed in the ski body in such a way that they do not protrude beyond the ski top surface.

Such a cross-country ski is known from DE-A-2 418 187, the known system not only representing a departure from the conventional ski bindings, but also a departure from the conventional cross-country ski constructions, each with a front tongue-like sole extension. The shoe-side binding parts are mounted in the known construction on the underside of the outsole of the cross-country ski boot, in the same area of the ball, so that the bending line lies in the ball area of the foot in a corresponding manner. With such an arrangement, the upper leather of the cross-country ski boot is subject to severe deformation, which unnecessarily dissipates energy and also exerts pressure on the foot, which can make cross-country skiing a torture after some time.

In contrast, the present invention has for its object to further develop a cross-country ski of the type mentioned in such a way that conventional cross-country shoes with a front tongue-like sole extension can be used for fixation on the ski, in such a way that the bending line in front of the shoe or in front in a conventional manner the toes of the foot. This object is achieved by the characterizing measures of claim 1.

In the solution according to the invention, therefore, all of the binding parts fastened to the ski body are arranged sunk in such a way that they do not protrude beyond the ski top surface. This maintains the advantage of the known solution according to DE-A-2 418 887, according to which the ski takes up only a minimal transport space and there is no longer any risk that the ski will be damaged during transport by the binding which is normally mounted on the ski top surface. In addition, the construction according to the invention allows the ski boot to be fixed to the ski body in a conventional manner in such a way that the bending line lies in front of the boot or in front of the toes of the foot, so that a "long step" can be taken. Shoe deformations are reduced to a minimum; the resulting loss of energy and foot pain are accordingly low.

For the positive and non-positive fixing of the sole extension or the ski boot to the ski body, the recess provided according to the invention is assigned an abutment for the sole extension and a locking device which interacts with complementary locking means arranged on the sole extension. The abutment is designed in such a way that the sole extension either engages under or over or behind it in its end position introduced into the recess.

DE-OS 2 754 005).In a preferred constructional embodiment, the abutment cooperating with the sole extension is formed by a transverse web bridging the recess. In this case, the abutment defines the bending axis of the sole extension when lifting the heel (see e.g. DE-OS 2 754 005).

A protrusion protruding into the recess can also serve as an abutment, this protrusion preferably being located on the rear transverse wall of the recess as seen in the longitudinal direction of the ski, so that it can be engaged behind by a suitably designed hook-shaped end of the sole extension. This projection, in conjunction with an associated holding means, defines the bending axis of the sole extension when the heel is raised.

Instead of the single projection mentioned, projections projecting into the recess can be provided on both longitudinal sides of the recess, under which the front part or laterally projecting lugs of the sole extension can be pushed. The bending axis of the sole extension when lifting the heel is formed in the latter embodiment by the two laterally projecting lugs of the sole extension.

The locking device assigned to the binding comprises locking means, so-called binding locking means, arranged in the recess, and sole locking means assigned or complementary thereto. These locking means work together so that a mutual interlocking is achieved. The sole latching means are preferably formed by upwardly projecting projections and the binding latching means by downwardly projecting projections or vice versa, which can be hooked together. The sole latching means can also be projections laterally projecting from the sole extension, which can be snapped into corresponding recesses or depressions on the side walls of the binding recess, or vice versa. The projections are either elastic or preloaded by an elastic element.

In a further development of the invention, the recess is a trough-shaped depression with an approximately trapezoidal cross section in the longitudinal direction of the ski and an approximately rectangular cross section in the direction transverse to the longitudinal direction of the ski. When the abutment is designed as a transverse web, this is then located approximately at the level of the rear end of the flat sole of the recess. The rear inclined surface of the recess formed in this way facilitates the insertion of the sole extension into the recess and under the abutment or the transverse web obliquely from above. The skier or cross-country skier can therefore "get into" the binding without difficulty. In Snow accidentally accumulated in the recess is pushed out of the recess by the sole extension over the front inclined surface of the recess.

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the latching device comprises a projection which is elastically mounted in the direction approximately perpendicular to the ski top surface and which a correspondingly switched projection on the free front end of the sole extension can engage behind. If the sole extension is inserted sufficiently far into the recess and under the abutment designed as a crosspiece, the two projections of the latching device and the sole extension latch or catch.

The projection of the latching device is preferably arranged, advantageously integrally formed, on the underside of an actuating element mounted on the ski body about an axis extending approximately transversely to the longitudinal direction of the ski. This type of locking device is structurally particularly simple and easy to handle. To unlock the latching device, a notch for a ski pole tip is provided on the top of the actuating element at the end facing away from the projection, such that the actuating element can be brought into its unlocking or release position or by exerting pressure on the ski pole tip and thus on the notch. is pivotable. The axis of rotation of the actuating element is thus between the notch and the locking projection.

A particularly simple construction of the latching device is characterized in that the actuating element is designed as a flat plate and is attached to the ski body on both sides of the recess by means of two leaf spring-like tabs which define the axis of rotation of the actuating element. On its underside, the actuating plate has the latching projection on the end facing the abutment designed as a crossbar and on its upper side on the front end facing away from the abutment designed as a crossbar, the notch for the ski pole tip. The actuator plate is arranged so that it forms part of the ski deck area. It can be dimensioned in such a way that it clears a front through opening of the recess, through which snow which may have accumulated in the recess can be pushed out of the recess through the sole extension inserted from behind.

However, it is also conceivable to dimension the actuating plate such that the entire extension is covered or covered when the sole extension is engaged, so that snow cannot penetrate into the recess in the first place. This dimensioning of the actuating plate is particularly useful in the embodiment according to claim 6, in which serves as an abutment protruding into the recess, which is located on the rear transverse edge or on the rear side wall of the recess. In addition, in this embodiment, the actuating plate also serves more as a holding means or support than as a locking means.

In another embodiment of the invention, the latching device assigned to the recess or binding can comprise at least one pin arranged in the recess, which cooperates with a corresponding opening or recess in the sole extension, the pin countering the effect of an elastic element in its the outside Sole process releasing position can be brought.

Finally, a clamping device can also be provided as a means for fixing the sole extension in the recess, which essentially only holds the sole extension in the recess with a force fit.

The arrangement of a conventional cross-country ski binding with a spring clip in the recess is also conceivable, as long as it is only ensured according to the invention that the holding or fixing means do not protrude beyond the ski top surface.

From a manufacturing point of view, it is particularly advantageous if the recess is formed by a component made of plastic, stainless steel or the like that can be inserted into the ski body. This component is preferably connected to the ski body by gluing, foaming and / or screwing.

If both the abutment and the locking device are an integral part of the component forming the recess, the binding produced in a separate operation can be inserted as a whole into a corresponding cavity in the ski body and connected to it, e.g. are glued.

When the component or insert is made from plastic, it is preferably designed as a one-piece component (injection molded part).

To increase the lateral guidance of the ski boot, the rear inclined surface of the recess is provided with at least one guide groove or guide cam extending in the longitudinal direction of the ski, which can be continued outside the recess in the direction towards the rear or towards the end of the ski and which has a corresponding guide cam or groove cooperates on the underside of the outsole or the front sole extension thereof. The guide groove or guide cam is thus also an integral part of the binding according to the invention.

Otherwise, the width of the tongue-shaped front sole extension corresponds approximately to the inside width of the recess in the ski body, which also ensures a certain lateral guidance of the ski boot with respect to the ski.

In the case of a sole extension in the outsole plane, the rear of the integrated ski binding extends in the this inserted shoe obliquely upwards in the unloaded state. This leads to the surprising advantage that after the push-off, when the ski is raised at the back, the optimum angle between the shoe and the ski on the one hand and between the ski and the running plane on the other hand is achieved.

According to the invention, the heel of the cross-country ski boot can be made somewhat higher than usual in order to reduce the distance between the underside of the outsole and the ski top surface in the heel area and to impart a certain body template to the skier for downhill runs. In the latter solution, the tread of the ski boot can be wedge-shaped in cross-section from front to back.

According to the invention, however, the sole extension can also be angled slightly downward in order to additionally facilitate insertion into the recess with a rear inclined surface.

To further increase the lateral guidance of the ski boot, a flat depression adjoins the rear oblique surface of the recess, the width of which is slightly larger than the width of the sole extension and the depth of which is slightly less than the thickness of the sole extension. This trough is used for partial absorption of the sole extension and thus for increased lateral guidance even when the heel is raised.

The arrangement of a flat trough is particularly advantageous in the embodiment in which the abutment is formed by a latching projection arranged on the rear transverse edge of the recess, since in this embodiment there is only an insignificant insertion of the sole extension into the recess. The side stabilizing effect of the side walls of the recess is therefore relatively low in this embodiment. The lateral guidance thus takes place very substantially through the aforementioned guide trough, which adjoins the rear transverse edge of the recess.

For better anchoring of the above-mentioned integral component with recess, abutment and possibly latching device in the ski body, this is preferably provided on the underside with a nose-like projection which extends rearward in the longitudinal direction of the ski and / or a nose-like projection which extends forward in the longitudinal direction of the ski, the one Represent kind of barb.

In Figure 1, only a portion of the ski body 12 is shown in perspective, in which the binding 10 is located. The ski binding 10 is designed as a unitary component 32, preferably made of plastic, and is sunk in the ski body 12. The top of the ski binding 10 is flush with the ski top surface 14. There are no parts protruding beyond the ski cover area 14.

Der Quersteg 18 erstreckt sich etwa in der Ebene der Skideckfläche 14.The component 32 comprises a recess 16, the cross section of which is trapezoidal in the longitudinal direction of the ski and rectangular in the direction transverse to the longitudinal direction of the ski, and into which a correspondingly dimensioned front tongue-shaped extension of the sole of a ski boot, not shown, can be inserted. The sole extension engages under an abutment in the form of a transverse web 18 bridging the recess 16, which at the same time defines the bending axis of the sole extension. The crosspiece 18 extends approximately in the plane of the ski top surface 14.

On the side of the crossbar 18 facing the ski tip, a latching device 20 is provided in the recess 16, which comprises an actuating plate 26 mounted in a torsionally elastic manner about an axis 36 extending transversely to the longitudinal direction of the ski, at the rear end of which there is a downwardly extending latching projection 24. The locking projection 24 is formed on the underside of the actuating plate 28. It interacts with a corresponding upward locking projection at the free front end of the sole extension which can be inserted into the recess 16 in a locking manner. The locking projection 24 is preferably slightly bent forward, while the upward-facing complementary locking projection on the top of the sole extension of the ski boot, not shown, is slightly curved backwards. This ensures that the latching projections are properly hooked and thus securely fixes the ski boot to the ski.

Einsatzteil. The torsionally elastic mounting of the actuation plate 26 on the ski body or in the present case on the component 32 takes place via two leaf spring-like tabs 28, 30 which are arranged on both sides of the recess 18 and at the same time define the axis of rotation 36 of the actuation plate 26. The actuating plate 26 and the leaf-spring-like tabs 28, 30 are integral components of the component 32 in the present exemplary embodiment. The same applies to the crossbar 18. Thus, the entire binding 10 is one in the exemplary embodiment shown one-piece component or insert.

The leaf spring-like tabs 28, 30, as can be clearly seen in the attached drawing, are obtained by corresponding L-shaped incisions in the side walls of the component 32.

However, it is just as well conceivable to fasten the fastening plate 26 to the two side walls of the component 32 or to the ski body 12 only via torsionally elastic connecting webs which extend in the direction of the axis of rotation or bending line 36.

At the front or the ski tip facing end of the actuating plate 26, a notch 34 is provided for a ski pole tip on its upper side, such that the actuating plate can be pivoted about the axis 36 into its unlocking or release position by exerting pressure on the notch. The locking projection 24 is raised by pressure on the notch 34, so that the corresponding locking projection on the upper side of the sole extension, not shown, is released.

In the exemplary embodiment shown, the bottom of the recess 16 is defined by a rear inclined surface 38, a front inclined surface 42 and a sole 22. The rear inclined surface 38 is provided with a guide groove 40 which extends in the longitudinal direction of the ski, which continues somewhat outside the recess 16 in the rearward direction, and into which a corresponding guide cam engages on the underside of the outsole and the front sole extension of the ski boot, not shown.

The actuating plate 26, which is mounted on the component 32 or ski body 12 in a torsionally elastic manner, is dimensioned such that a front through opening to the recess 16 is kept free, through which snow which may be located in the recess 16 can be pushed out when the sole extension passes through the rear insertion opening of the recess 16 is pushed into this and under the crosspiece 18.

The component 32 is preferably glued into the ski body 12. However, it can also be releasably connected to the ski body 12 by means of conventional screw connections. The latter solution has the advantage that the bond 10 e.g. can be easily replaced when the torsionally elastic mounting of the actuating plate 26 becomes tired.

The recess 16 and the use of the component 32 cause the ski body to be weakened to a certain extent in the region of the binding 10. This weakening can easily be compensated for in this area by appropriate reinforcement of the side cheeks and the lower flange of the ski body. Glass fiber reinforcement is preferably used as reinforcement. However, spring steel reinforcements are also conceivable.

As has already been explained at the outset, the width of the sole extension which can be inserted into the recess 16 of course corresponds approximately to the inside width of the recess 16, as a result of which good lateral guidance of the ski boot is obtained independently of the guide groove 40. The thickness of the sole extension is dimensioned such that it can be pushed under the transverse web 18 with little play with the upward-facing projection, which cooperates with the projection 24 of the latching device 20.

The surface of the downward facing locking projection 24 facing the end of the ski is preferably bevelled downwards and forwards. In a corresponding manner, the front surface of the latching projection formed on the top of the sole extension is bevelled backwards and upwards. In this way, the upward deflection of the locking projection 24 or the actuating plate 26 is facilitated when the sole extension is inserted into the binding 10. Conversely, however, the latching is not impaired after it has snapped into place.

Instead of the latching device described, laterally acting latching means can also be provided, which snap into corresponding lateral notches of the sole extension and can be brought back into an unlocking position against the action of an elastic element. A reverse arrangement of the locking means mentioned is also conceivable.

The elastic elements of the latching means can be set so that when a predetermined tensile force on the sole extension is exceeded, it is automatically released in the manner of a safety binding.

In the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 2 and 3, parts which have already been described in connection with FIG. 1 are provided with the same reference numbers. A corresponding description is therefore unnecessary.

-rippen 40'.The exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 2 and 3 differs from that according to FIG. 1 essentially only in that the front inclined surface 42 of the recess 16 is replaced by an upright or front wall 42 'extending vertically to the ski top surface. The actuating plate 26 is also dimensioned such that, in its locking position, it completely covers the recess 16 in the region between the transverse web 1 β and the front side wall 42 '. Finally, in the binding according to FIGS. 2 and 3, no guide grooves corresponding to the guide groove 40 are provided, but two raised guide cams or ribs 40 '.

In the embodiment according to FIGS. 2 and 3 it is ensured in particular that no snow can penetrate into the recess 16 when the outsole is locked.

The embodiment according to FIGS. 4 and 5 differs from the embodiments described with reference to FIGS. 1 to 3 essentially in that the transverse web 18 serving as an abutment is replaced by a protrusion 18 ′ protruding into the recess 16, which at the rear transverse edge the recess 16 is arranged. This projection 18 'is of a suitably designed one hook-shaped end 47 of the sole extension 46 (shown in broken lines) can be gripped behind, as shown schematically in FIG. 4. The sole extension or the hook-shaped end of the same is locked in the recess 16 by a holding element 24 ', which is formed on the end of a torsionally elastic actuating plate 26' facing the sole extension in accordance with the actuating plate 26 described above. The holding element 24 'is thus mounted on the actuating plate 26' in a torsionally elastic manner in the insert part 32 or ski body.

In the embodiment according to FIGS. 4 and 5, the holding element 24 'is designed as a bead, whereby a certain rolling of the hook-shaped end 47 of the sole extension 46 is ensured when the heel is lifted over the bead. So that the holding element 24 'or the end of the actuating plate 26' facing the sole extension is not pressed into the recess 16 when the heel is lifted by the sole extension or its end, the actuating element 26 'or the holding element 24' is via a support 24 "supported on the sole 22 of the recess 16. The support 24", as can be seen in FIG. 5, is formed by two upright strips formed on the side walls of the recess 16. The torsionally elastic mounting of the actuating plate 26 'takes place, as in the actuating element 26 described above, via leaf spring-like tabs 28', 30 '. The axes of rotation 36 'of the actuating plate 26' are also defined by these tabs (FIG. 5).

By exerting pressure on the notch 34, the holding element 24 'is raised and the hook-shaped end 47 of the sole extension 46 is released.

The embodiment according to FIGS. 4 and 5 has yet another special feature, namely a flat trough following the projection 18 'serving as an abutment. The width of this shallow depression 45 is slightly larger than the width of the sole extension 46. The depth of the shallow depression 45 is somewhat less than the thickness of the sole extension 46. Moreover, as can be seen in FIG. 4, the thickness of the sole extension 46 is in the region the trough 45 larger than in the rest of the area. The recess 45 provides increased lateral guidance, even when the heel is raised. The trough 45 is of great importance in particular in the embodiment according to FIGS. 4 and 5, since in this embodiment the side walls of the recess 16 ensure a far less lateral guidance than e.g. in the embodiments according to FIGS. 1 to 3.

The exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 6 differs from that according to FIGS. 4 and 5 only in the different design of the holding element 24 'and the complementary design of the side of the sole extension 46 facing this holding element. The holding element 24' is in the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 6 formed by an inclined surface inclined upwards and forwards. The facing side of the free end of the sole extension 46 is inclined in a corresponding manner. This ensures that when the heel is raised, the holding element 24 'is pressed against the support strips 24 "and the hook-shaped end 47 of the sole extension 46 is not released.

In the embodiment according to FIGS. 7 and 8, the sole extension 46 'is angled downwards or adapted to the trapezoidal cross section of the recess 16 in the longitudinal direction of the ski. Furthermore, the sole extension 46 'has a longitudinal slot 57, the inner end of which is formed by an approximately circular opening 48. Instead of an elastically effective latching or snap-in device, a positive locking 20 'is provided for fixing the sole extension 46' in the recess 16. The lock 20 'comprises a holding element 49 (holding disc) which can be rotated in the recess about a vertical axis and under which the sole extension 46' can be pushed. A locking part 50 is formed on the underside of the holding disc 49, the width of which corresponds approximately to the width of the longitudinal slot 57 and the length corresponds approximately to the diameter of the opening 4ß. In turn, an axis of rotation 51 is integrally formed on the locking part 50, which is rotatably mounted in the sole 22 or a corresponding sole bearing 52. The retaining disc 49 is fixed in the sole bearing 52 via a retaining disc 53 fastened to the free end of the axis 51, which cooperates with spring-loaded locking cams 54. The interaction of the holding disc 53 with the locking cams 54 takes place in such a way that the flat locking part 50 is locked either in the longitudinal direction of the ski or transversely thereto. It is particularly important to lock the flat locking part 50 in the direction of the ski in order to prevent the sole extension from slipping out of the recess 16 during cross-country skiing, i.e. to prevent alternating loads. To actuate the lock 20 ', an approximately cross-shaped recess is provided on the upper side of the holding disc 49, into which e.g. an appropriately trained ski tip can be used. The cross-like depression is identified in FIGS. 7 and 8 with the reference number 55. However, a simple slot can be provided as well as the slot in the head of a screw.

The diameter of the holding disk 49 is preferably only slightly smaller than the width of the recess 16 in order to ensure that the sole extension is adequately fixed in the recess 16. The outer circumference of the holding disk 49 need not be circular, but can also have a shape an oval.

As in the above-described embodiments, the recess 16 is preferably a one-piece component, the lock 20 ′ described and its mounting being fastened separately from this component in the ski body. However, it is also conceivable to design the recess together with the locking and storage thereof as a built-in part and to insert it overall into the ski body.

A very simple solution is characterized in that an upwardly projecting spring-loaded push button is arranged on the sole extension, which can be snapped into a correspondingly dimensioned passage (bore) in the crossbar (18), the top of the push button being preferably trough-shaped for the engagement of the ski pole tip Has deepening. Preferably, the top of the push button is inclined slightly upward from the front to the rear in order to facilitate the insertion of the sole extension into the recess or under the crossbar.
