Description

The invention relates to a mobile suction device for dusts, paint mist, vapors and the like, with a portable housing, in which a blower generating a vacuum in the interior of the housing and at least one activated carbon filter through which air flows are arranged and which has a filter surface on the wall side, through which large-area contaminated room air can be sucked in is that can be returned to the room after cleaning in recirculation mode via an air outlet of the housing.

Such a mobile suction device in the form of a so-called room air cleaning device is known from DE-A-2 621 172. This known device has a circular cylindrical housing which is made of double-walled labyrinth or perforated sheet metal shells and two labyrinth or perforated sheet metal sheets covering the bottom. The hollow interiors between the labyrinth or perforated sheet metal sheaths and the labyrinth or perforated sheet metal disks on the floor are intended to accommodate granular bulk material (activated carbon etc.) In the space enclosed by the inner perforated sheet jacket, a blower is arranged, which is suspended from a conically shaped funnel body attached to the end of the housing.

Because the entire surface of the device that can be used in any position of use is designed as a filter surface, locally concentrated suction cannot be achieved. Rather, the device is rather intended for continuous air recirculation, as is required in hospitals, manufacturing rooms with an odor-laden atmosphere, etc.

For example, in motor vehicle body repair shops, the body must be subjected to a pretreatment before it gets its paint in a paint spraying box, in which considerable dust and dirt as well as solvent vapors of the plastic primers used etc. occur. In order to remedy the resulting danger to the people involved in this work, it is necessary to prevent such local concentrations of pollutants in air-polluting work in workshops or the like. H. Effective suction of paint mist or the like at the place where they arise. However, this requires higher flow velocities and in particular a local concentration of the suction.

A locally concentrated suction allows a suction device known from NL-A-7 510 215, but this works with a suction hose connected to a filter box, which opens into a suction mouthpiece with a suction opening that can be moved vertically on a vertical rod. Such a suction device, which requires the stationary attachment of the vertical rod for the suction mouthpiece, is cumbersome and complex and cannot be used for mobile applications.

Finally, it is known from FR-A-2 442 084 for spraying paint on body walls of buses and the like. Like. Use a so-called suction frame, which has a walk-in opening on its front side and carries articulated wall parts on its rear side, which are hinged to the frame and which together with the object to be treated form the rear wall of the frame. The air extraction takes place within the frame through laterally arranged filter surfaces. Such a frame, which together with the object to be treated forms a type of paint spray booth in which the operator is located and whose side walls have suction devices for the paint mist, cannot be used universally and is suitable for the use of the above-mentioned paint spraying on the body walls of buses and the like. The like. Limited.

The object of the invention is therefore to provide a mobile, user-friendly and universally applicable suction device which allows local pollutant concentrations to be prevented in air-polluting work in workshops or the like, without the need for stationary air lines and the like. Like. would be required.

To achieve this object, the mobile suction device is characterized according to the invention in that in the case of the cabinet-like housing, only one wall side is designed as a filter surface, that the activated carbon filter downstream of the blower is formed by a number of filter cartridges evenly pressurized by air, and that the filter cartridges have an annular filter space filled with activated carbon with a cylindrical outer surface and with an inner surface that widens conically towards the blower.

The fact that only one wall side is designed as a filter surface in the cabinet housing ensures the required concentration and orientation of the exhaust air flow to the location of the pollutant generation.

The division of the activated carbon filter into a number of filter cartridges downstream of the fan on the pressure side, which the fan blows evenly on the air, on the one hand enables the filter material to be used in a fluidically favorable manner and thus achieve a high loading limit, and on the other hand simple filter replacement by replacing the filter cartridges. The ring-shaped filter chamber with a cylindrical outer surface and with an inner surface that widens conically towards the blower ensures uniform loading of the entire filter cartridges and thus intensive use of the filter material. The filter material is not flowed through radially, but diagonally upwards, which results in a long filter path with small radial dimensions of the cartridges.

The portable cabinet housing can also be brought directly to the place where the pollutant accumulates, with the pollutants being sucked off concentratedly on the spot.

In order to increase the filter effect, it is useful if between the fan and the Activated carbon filter, a suspended matter filter is arranged in the housing, which is connected downstream of the filter surface - which then in turn acts as a suspended matter prefilter. The particulate filter is located on the pressure side of the fan. It is used to filter out the dust content of the polluted air.

The filter surface provided in the area of one wall side of the cabinet housing is expediently formed by filter cassettes which are sealed and releasably connected to the cabinet housing. These filter cartridges can be easily replaced if they are dirty, without requiring any special intervention in the suction device itself.

In order to increase the suction effect emanating from the suction device, adjustable shielding walls can be arranged on the cabinet housing in the region of the boundary of the filter surface, through which the suction zone is limited.

The effectiveness of the filters depends on the fact that they are not excessively dirty or loaded. The mobile suction device therefore advantageously has monitoring devices arranged in the cabinet housing for the degree of contamination or loading of the individual filters. For this purpose, at least one of the filters can be assigned a differential pressure measuring device which determines the pressure drop occurring on the filter.

The adsorption of the color thinner consisting of aromatic hydrocarbons by the activated carbon of the activated carbon filter leads to an increase in the weight of the filter. This increase in weight can be used for monitoring in that the activated carbon filter is assigned a weighing device which has a display device, which indicates the increase in weight and, if necessary, lights up a warning light arranged on the cabinet housing in a visible position in order to indicate that the activated carbon filter is desorbed or replaced got to.

In a preferred embodiment, the filter cartridges are placed in a sealed manner on an air guide funnel which is arranged in the cabinet housing and is connected to the pressure side of the blower and which has air passages assigned to the individual filter cartridges which lead into the filter cartridge. In order to enable the aforementioned control of the loading of the activated carbon filter with absorbed solvents in a simple manner, one of the filter cartridges can be connected to the control device as a test filter cartridge and height-adjustable and sealed connected to the air guide funnel via a liquid-filled labyrinth seal. The test filter cartridge can be suspended in the cabinet housing so that it can move in height, whereby its weight is balanced when unloaded.

In addition, it is expedient if the air outlet of the cabinet housing is formed directly by the air outlet openings of the filter cartridges opening out into the open. Finally, to expand the possible uses, the arrangement can also be such that the filter surface is covered on the outside by at least one air collection funnel which is detachably fastened to the housing and carries a suction port for connecting at least one air suction hose.

The mobile suction device for dusts, paint mist, vapors and the like shown in the drawing has a closed, cabinet-like sheet metal housing 1, which carries rollers 2 on its underside, by means of which it can be moved on the floor. The rollers 2 are provided with a detachable lock. The front side wall 3 of the cabinet housing 1 is formed in the manner shown in FIGS. 3 and 4 in a protruding manner in a gable or triangular manner, so that two partial surfaces 3a, 3b enclosing an angle of approximately 90 ° result, which are air-permeable as filter surfaces . For this purpose, two layers of filter cassettes 4, 4a are sealed on the surfaces 3a, 3b and releasably connected to the cabinet housing 1. The filter cassettes 4, 4a form two suspended matter filters; they can be removed from the cabinet housing 1 and replaced with new filter cartridges as soon as their maximum permissible degree of contamination has been reached.

A fan 5 is arranged in the cabinet housing 1, the fan wheel of which is driven by an electric motor 6, which is housed in the cabinet housing 1 in a completely encapsulated manner. The encapsulation indicated at 7 is connected to the atmosphere via its own supply and exhaust air duct 8, the supply air duct opening at 9 on the rear side of the cabinet housing 1 opposite the filter surface formed by the filter cassettes 4, 4a, as can be seen from FIG. 2 .

The blower 5 generates a negative pressure in the interior of the cabinet housing 1, under the effect of which, through the filter surface of the filter cassettes 4, 4a arranged on the front of the cabinet housing 1, contaminated room air over a large area is sucked in, which is conveyed back into the room after cleaning in recirculation mode via an air outlet provided at the top of the cabinet housing 1 with 10.

Fig. 4 bis 7) nachgeschaltet. The filter cassettes 4, 4a can be followed by at least one further suspended matter filter 11 arranged in the cabinet housing, which is arranged on the pressure side of the blower 5. The suspended matter filter 11 is then in turn connected to an activated carbon filter 12 (see FIGS. 4 to 7) which is also arranged in the cabinet housing 1.

In the filter cassettes 4, 4a, or the suspended matter filter 11, which act as a suspended matter filter, the dust components contained in the polluted air are filtered out, while the activated carbon filter 12 serves to absorb solvent vapors contained in the air.

In order to limit the suction zone and to be able to adapt to the respective local conditions, two adjustable shielding walls 13 are articulated on the cabinet housing 1 on both sides of the front wall 3 and can be pivoted about vertical joint axes. To increase the suction effect, the cabinet housing is sealed against the floor in the region of its front wall 3 by a brush strip 14. The brush strip 14 also extends over the lower edge of the shielding walls 13, so that a seal against the floor is also present at this point.

The activated carbon filter 12 is formed by a number of filter cartridges 16, which are placed in a sealed manner on an air guide funnel 17 which is arranged in the cabinet housing 1 and is connected to the pressure side of the blower 5 and which has air passages 18 (FIG. 5) assigned to the individual filter cartridges 16 the filter cartridges open.

Each of the filter cartridges 16 has an annular filter chamber 19 which tapers conically towards the respective air passage 18 of the air guide funnel 17 and is filled with activated carbon (cf., for example, FIG. 5), which is technically advantageous on the one hand because the air throughput, as indicated by arrows 20 is indicated in Fig. 5, increases with increasing distance from the air passage 18 and on the other hand has proven to be favorable with regard to the service life of the filter cartridges. A tightly closing upper plastic cushion 25 prevents the occurrence of short circuits during the filtering process in the event of a reduction in volume caused by shaking the activated carbon.

The degree of contamination and loading of the individual filters 4, 4a, 11, 12 can be monitored separately. For this purpose, dedicated monitoring devices are provided, which indicate when the individual filters have to be replaced due to the maximum contamination or loading being reached.

For this purpose, the filter cassettes 4, 4a at 21 in FIG. 4 are assigned differential pressure measuring devices, which measure the pressure drop occurring across the filter cassettes and are connected to display devices (FIG. 3) on the front of the cabinet housing via measuring lines running in the cabinet housing 1. The differential pressure measurement not only controls the degree of contamination of the filter, but also monitors the amount of air circulated, which can be kept under control. Switching devices can be provided in order to be able to control the filters individually.

To monitor the loading condition of the activated carbon filter 12, the arrangement is such that one of the filter cartridges 16 designed in the manner of filter candles - namely the filter cartridge 16a in FIG. 4 - is designed as a test filter cartridge and is connected to a balance 24, the scale of which is visible from the outside Pointer 26 indicates the weight of the test filter cartridge 16a and thus the pollutant load.

For this purpose, the test filter cartridge 16a is connected to the air guide funnel 17 to a limited extent via a liquid-filled labyrinth seal 27. It is suspended in a height-adjustable manner in the cabinet housing 1 by means of rollers 28 which are arranged in a fixed manner and by means of the cables 29 guided thereon, the cables 29 being connected at the end to counterweights 30 which balance the weight of the test filter cartridge 16a in the unloaded state.

The filter cartridges 16, 16a each have air outlet openings 31 that open out of the filter chamber 19 and together form the air outlet 10 of the cabinet housing 1.

For example, if a so-called underbody protection is sprayed onto the underside of a motor vehicle from an assembly pit, there is a risk that an inadmissibly high concentration of the solvent vapors will result in the assembly pit, which is due to the fact that the specific weight of the solvent is higher than that of the air . In order to be able to use the suction device for such cases as well, the filter surface of the filter cassettes 4, 4a can be covered to the outside by an upstream air collection funnel 50, which is detachably fastened to the cabinet housing 1 by means of sashes and which carries a suction nozzle 51 for connecting flexible air suction hoses. which are placed with their free end in the assembly pit in order to collect the solvents, dusts and. suction. The air collection funnels 50 with the associated suction ports 51 are shown in dashed lines in FIGS. 3, 4.

The cabinet housing 1 is constructed in such a way that, in the manner shown in FIGS. 8, 9, it has strip-like corner profiles 52 with an approximately C-shaped cross-sectional shape, with which plate-like wall parts 53, 54 are screwed at 55. In the C-shaped corner profiles 52, their inner contour shape corresponding profile pieces 56 are inserted, on which brackets or the like. Of the cabinet housing 1 are supported, on which in turn the elements accommodated in the cabinet housing 1 are fastened and arranged. The profile pieces 56 are also screwed to the corner profiles 52 at 55.
