Definitions
- the invention relates to an arrangement of a sequence of fixedly arranged images parallel to and at a distance from the travel path of a passenger-carrying vehicle, which includes a stopping area and a travel distance, the image surface of the images being turned towards the people in a vehicle traveling along the travel path.
- billboards are provided at a distance from one another approximately in the middle of the platform.
- the image area of each billboard is dimensioned such that a person viewing can take the image from the window of the vehicle. These images do not change during viewing. Therefore, while the vehicle is standing on the platform, only relatively little information can be transmitted to the viewer from the images that are in the viewing area of the window.
- free areas can be e.g. in addition to rail-bound vehicles for artistic or commercial communication by using film sequences to create picture sequences.
- the image carriers are provided with the attachments according to the invention in such a way that when viewed from a point of view moving parallel to the image surface, the impression of a film running is experienced.
- a sequence of individual images which represent a sequence of movements into discrete phase images, is preferably located between individual stopping areas of the travel path.
- a special lamella construction ensures that an observer can only see one single image at a time from a passing vehicle, and is largely free of motion blur. The sequence of the individual images caused by the journey allows the viewer to experience a sequence of movements.
- the determination of the image dimensions with respect to the width depends on the typical average speed of the vehicles in the route sections in question; the height of the images is determined by the window height, aspects of uniform illumination and any security requirements to be taken into account, e.g. Keep escape routes clear. With an assumed average speed of 50 km / h and the usual frame rate of 24 / sec, the picture width is approx. 58 cm; Window-filling formats can result on high-speed routes.
- the arrangement according to the invention can e.g. Provide outdoors next to raised monorails. It is particularly expedient and advantageous if the route runs in a subway tunnel and the pictures and the slats are attached to the tunnel wall.
- the person traveling by train is beautified from the window, which until now only meets the bare tunnel wall on the route. The light falling from the window onto the tunnel wall illuminates the pictures.
- an image carrier attached to a wall.
- the individual images are on it at a constant size and evenly spaced from one another.
- a three-dimensional version is also possible, part of which are peep boxes behind the slats, the content of which changes accordingly from box to box.
- the fictitious hit strip is provided approximately in the middle of the slats of an image and the inclination of the slats is aligned with the central hit strip.
- the slats are at certain angles to the picture surface; these angles are determined from the distance of the image surface to the focal point at which the viewer is at the moment when he is at the angle intended for viewing, e.g. 90 °, looks at the vertical central axis of the picture. At this moment, the viewer perceives the front edges of the slats only as thin lines and the image as a whole. In the following moment - moved a little further - the aligned arrangement of the slats conceals the individual image segments.
- the number of slats per picture depends, among other things, on the length of the picture.
- the number of slats per image is reciprocal to the depth of the slats and is directly related to the distance from the image surface to the focal point of the viewer. With a picture width of 58 cm, a distance of the viewer from the picture of approx. 2 m and a number of 11 slats, these should be approx. 35 cm deep.
- the surface of the lamellae is designed to absorb light. This avoids unwanted reflections, especially with artificial lighting.
- the material from which the slats are to be made must also withstand both the air pressure generated by the rail vehicle and safety requirements, such as e.g. not to be flammable, not to develop dangerous fumes from heating, sufficient.
- a light source illuminating the image surface as uniformly as possible is provided directly above and / or below the slats.
- Light sources can also be arranged above and / or below the windows of the vehicle on the vehicle itself. When the vehicle passes the sequence of images, these light sources can then be switched on.
- the light sources are preferably darkened towards the front, towards the viewer. Since the light distribution decreases towards the center of the images with two light sources, in corresponding cases, i.e. with a certain image height and / or with certain image qualities, when producing the images, a light grid is placed over them, which brightens from the top and bottom edge to the center and thus compensates for the decrease in light. If the images are transparent, they are expediently illuminated on the back.
- an image carrier with devices for interchangeable attachment of the images is provided.
- the pictures can be exchanged in order to keep the interest of the people who regularly use the route in the pictures alive.
- the images are separate images from one another.
- poster-like individual images are attached to the permanently installed image carriers.
- the images are fitted into the provided templates.
- the templates indicate the exact frame of the image location and ensure the necessary precision when positioning the images. This montage is particularly useful for artistic sequences that are not often exchanged.
- the images are located on a band-shaped carrier extending over the sequence.
- the entire series of individual images required for a route section is attached to a continuous support made of fabric or other suitable material.
- a carrier is drawn onto the image carrier by means of a mechanism between the slats and the back wall.
- the upper and lower edges of the image strip are guided in rails by means of rollers, while the image strip is pulled and tightened by cable winches over the entire length of the section to be imaged.
- Precise positioning of the images is provided by pre-production, in which the individual images are fixed on the strips with adequate means.
- slats of each image are held together by struts to form a slat unit.
- the same slat unit can be used for each individual section for each route section with a constant distance from picture to viewer. In other sections with a different distance, a differently calculated slat unit is to be used, but this does not affect the interchangeability of the image material with a constant image size.
- the assembly of the slat units depends on the choice of image assembly. If the above-mentioned poster-like assembly of the pictures is selected, a number of lamella units are combined into sets which can be moved for the purpose of exchanging the pictures.
- the slat units located in front of the image carrier can be grouped together in groups of some images, e.g. be folded up so that the actual image area is exposed. If an image strip is selected in the guide rails, the lamella units are permanently installed at a distance that enables frictionless image strip movement.
- a track 1 is provided on the floor of a tunnel with two parallel, spaced-apart rails on which a vehicle travels which has windows 2 which face the one tunnel wall 3.
- a section of a route of a subway is shown in FIG. 1.
- An elongated image carrier 4 is attached to the tunnel wall at the height of the window 2.
- the image carrier 4 carries a sequence of images 5 arranged close to one another, abutting one another.
- a lamella unit 6 which comprises a plurality of flat, thin, rectangular lamellae 7.
- an elongated light source 8 is located above and below each lamella unit 6, which shines on the image 5 between the thin lamellae 7.
- the central lamellae 7 are exactly at right angles to the image area and the outer lamellae are inclined somewhat in the direction from the inside to the outside. The inclination to the right angle generally does not exceed 30 ° in any case and is generally not greater than 15 °.
- Fig. 3 it is indicated how fictitious extensions 9 run to a fictitious strip 10 in which they meet.
- the eyes of a viewer who is in the vehicle behind the window 2 are shown in the fictitious streak 10 at three different times A, B and C.
- the viewer's eyes are in a "focus".
- the eyes can be fully between the slats, i.e. look into the channels between the slats; they have 100% insight and see the picture completely.
- position B the viewer's eyes have only 50% insight; i.e. they see only half of the picture.
- position C the eyes no longer have a view of the slat unit and only see against the slats.
- the insight depending on the position to the slat unit is shown in the form of a sine curve 11 below.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to an arrangement of a sequence of fixedly arranged images parallel to and at a distance from the travel path of a passenger-carrying vehicle, which includes a stopping area and a travel distance, the image surface of the images being turned towards the people in a vehicle traveling along the travel path.
In an arrangement of this type known from practice, billboards are provided at a distance from one another approximately in the middle of the platform. The image area of each billboard is dimensioned such that a person viewing can take the image from the window of the vehicle. These images do not change during viewing. Therefore, while the vehicle is standing on the platform, only relatively little information can be transmitted to the viewer from the images that are in the viewing area of the window.
It is therefore an object of the invention to provide an arrangement of the type mentioned at the beginning, in which the impression of a film-like sequence is achieved in a person looking out of the window using stationary images.
This object is achieved by the invention specified in
With the help of the invention, free areas can be e.g. in addition to rail-bound vehicles for artistic or commercial communication by using film sequences to create picture sequences. The image carriers are provided with the attachments according to the invention in such a way that when viewed from a point of view moving parallel to the image surface, the impression of a film running is experienced.
There is a set of slats in front of each frame. The size, number and arrangement of the slats means that the viewer can only perceive one image at a time, followed by a short black phase before the next image is perceived. A sequence of individual images, which represent a sequence of movements into discrete phase images, is preferably located between individual stopping areas of the travel path. A special lamella construction ensures that an observer can only see one single image at a time from a passing vehicle, and is largely free of motion blur. The sequence of the individual images caused by the journey allows the viewer to experience a sequence of movements.
The determination of the image dimensions with respect to the width depends on the typical average speed of the vehicles in the route sections in question; the height of the images is determined by the window height, aspects of uniform illumination and any security requirements to be taken into account, e.g. Keep escape routes clear. With an assumed average speed of 50 km / h and the usual frame rate of 24 / sec, the picture width is approx. 58 cm; Window-filling formats can result on high-speed routes.
The arrangement according to the invention can e.g. Provide outdoors next to raised monorails. It is particularly expedient and advantageous if the route runs in a subway tunnel and the pictures and the slats are attached to the tunnel wall. Here, the person traveling by train is beautified from the window, which until now only meets the bare tunnel wall on the route. The light falling from the window onto the tunnel wall illuminates the pictures.
It is also particularly expedient and advantageous if the image areas of the images run essentially vertically.
At eye level and at a constant distance from the viewer is e.g. an image carrier attached to a wall. The individual images are on it at a constant size and evenly spaced from one another. - In addition to attaching two-dimensional images, a three-dimensional version is also possible, part of which are peep boxes behind the slats, the content of which changes accordingly from box to box.
It is then particularly expedient and advantageous if the fictitious hit strip is provided approximately in the middle of the slats of an image and the inclination of the slats is aligned with the central hit strip. The slats are at certain angles to the picture surface; these angles are determined from the distance of the image surface to the focal point at which the viewer is at the moment when he is at the angle intended for viewing, e.g. 90 °, looks at the vertical central axis of the picture. At this moment, the viewer perceives the front edges of the slats only as thin lines and the image as a whole. In the following moment - moved a little further - the aligned arrangement of the slats conceals the individual image segments.
The number of slats per picture depends, among other things, on the length of the picture. The number of slats per image is reciprocal to the depth of the slats and is directly related to the distance from the image surface to the focal point of the viewer. With a picture width of 58 cm, a distance of the viewer from the picture of approx. 2 m and a number of 11 slats, these should be approx. 35 cm deep.
It is also particularly expedient and advantageous if the surface of the lamellae is designed to absorb light. This avoids unwanted reflections, especially with artificial lighting. The material from which the slats are to be made must also withstand both the air pressure generated by the rail vehicle and safety requirements, such as e.g. not to be flammable, not to develop dangerous fumes from heating, sufficient.
It is then particularly expedient and advantageous if a light source illuminating the image surface as uniformly as possible is provided directly above and / or below the slats. Light sources can also be arranged above and / or below the windows of the vehicle on the vehicle itself. When the vehicle passes the sequence of images, these light sources can then be switched on. The light sources are preferably darkened towards the front, towards the viewer.
It is also particularly expedient and advantageous if an image carrier with devices for interchangeable attachment of the images is provided. The pictures can be exchanged in order to keep the interest of the people who regularly use the route in the pictures alive.
It is particularly expedient and advantageous if the images are separate images from one another. In this case, poster-like individual images are attached to the permanently installed image carriers. The images are fitted into the provided templates. The templates indicate the exact frame of the image location and ensure the necessary precision when positioning the images. This montage is particularly useful for artistic sequences that are not often exchanged.
However, it is also particularly expedient and advantageous if the images are located on a band-shaped carrier extending over the sequence. The entire series of individual images required for a route section is attached to a continuous support made of fabric or other suitable material. Such a carrier is drawn onto the image carrier by means of a mechanism between the slats and the back wall. The upper and lower edges of the image strip are guided in rails by means of rollers, while the image strip is pulled and tightened by cable winches over the entire length of the section to be imaged. Precise positioning of the images is provided by pre-production, in which the individual images are fixed on the strips with adequate means.
By standardizing image sizes, such strips with pre-produced image sequences can be transferred to different sections of the route and to other locations. - Depending on the nature of the carrier material, the strips can be reused for different series. This type of image montage is particularly suitable for commercial use, since it can be carried out with the necessary accuracy regardless of the current rail traffic and also enables mobility of the material created.
It is then particularly expedient and advantageous if the slats of each image are held together by struts to form a slat unit. The same slat unit can be used for each individual section for each route section with a constant distance from picture to viewer. In other sections with a different distance, a differently calculated slat unit is to be used, but this does not affect the interchangeability of the image material with a constant image size.
The assembly of the slat units depends on the choice of image assembly. If the above-mentioned poster-like assembly of the pictures is selected, a number of lamella units are combined into sets which can be moved for the purpose of exchanging the pictures. The slat units located in front of the image carrier can be grouped together in groups of some images, e.g. be folded up so that the actual image area is exposed. If an image strip is selected in the guide rails, the lamella units are permanently installed at a distance that enables frictionless image strip movement.
