Description

  • [0001]
L'invention est relative à un disjoncteur électrique multipolaire à basse tension formé par l'assemblage modulaire d'un bloc de coupure à boîtier isolant moulé subdivisé en une pluralité de pôles juxtaposés, et d'un bloc déclencheur magnétothermique interchangeable en fonction du calibre choisi, chaque pôle du bloc de coupure comprenant une paire de contacts séparables dont le contact fixe est en liaison avec une borne amont de raccordement du disjoncteur et dont le contact mobile est relié électriquement à une plage de liaison susceptible de venir en contact par superposition avec une plage de connexion du bloc déclencheur dont le boîtier prend appui en position montée sur le boîtier du bloc de coupure, ledit bloc déclencheur comportant un déclencheur thermique et un déclencheur électromagnétique piloté par le courant circulant dans un conducteur aligné avec la paire de contacts dans la direction longitudinale du pôle, ladite plage de connexion étant age The invention relates to a multipole electrical circuit breaker for low voltage formed by the modular assembly of a switching block with a molded insulating casing subdivided into a plurality of juxtaposed poles, and an interchangeable magnetothermal trip unit depending on the chosen gauge , each breaking unit of the pole comprising a pair of separable contacts including a fixed contact is connected to a connection upstream terminal of the circuit breaker and the movable contact is electrically connected to a bonding pad capable of coming into contact by superposition with a trigger block pad whose housing is supported in mounted position on the breaking unit housing, said trip unit comprising a thermal release and an electromagnetic release driven by the current flowing in a conductor aligned with the pair of contacts in the direction longitudinal pole, said pad being age ncée à l'une des extrémités du conducteur dont l'extrémité opposée est solidaire de la borne aval de raccordement du disjoncteur, la continuité électrique par pôle entre le conducteur du bloc déclencheur et la paire de contacts du bloc de coupure étant assurée par une vis de connexion assurant le serrage de la paire de plages intermédiaires de liaison et de connexion en position superposée. NCEE to one of the ends of the conductor whose opposite end is secured to the downstream connecting terminal of the circuit breaker, the electric continuity by pole between the conductor of the trip unit and the pair of contacts of the breaking unit being ensured by a screw connection ensuring the clamping of the pair of intermediate connecting tracks and in a superposed position connection.
  • [0002]
It is conventional to have a range of magnetic trip blocks of different tripping characteristics can be selectively associated with the same standard cut-block to form breakers of different calibres. A clamping connection failure screws when the establishment of the trip unit may cause a detrimental overheating the proper functioning of the circuit breaker.
  • [0003]
According to a known device of the kind mentioned, the binding of each breaking unit of the cluster range is based on an integral fixed stud of the base, said stud comprises a threaded hole cooperating with the screw connection when connecting the pair of beaches connect link, in superposed position. It is noted that defects height positioning of the housings of the breaking unit and the trip unit resulting plastic molding usually imperfections can cause an insufficient tightening of a screw connection at d a particular pole, since all the threaded holes of the fixed studs are arranged in a same plane.
  • [0004]
To overcome these shortcomings, it has been proposed to use deformable flexible connection pads and / or liaison with appropriate flexibility to a tightness of beaches during the implementation of the trip unit. This type of deformable beaches by superimposing conductive thin sheets nevertheless has a high manufacturing cost, and is not suitable for circuit breakers of high ratings.
  • [0005]
The present invention aims to overcome these disadvantages and allow the realization of an interchangeable trip unit circuit breaker whose electrical connection is reliable regardless of any difference in height between the housings of the cut block and the trip unit.
  • [0006]
The circuit breaker according to the invention is characterized in that a flexible shunt of the moving contact arm is directly secured to the pole of each bonding pad, comprising a contact face cooperating with the associated connection range, and an opposite face with a nut, and each said bonding pad is positioned in vertical play in a transverse groove of the breaking unit of the housing, the tightening of the connection screw introduced in the nut in trip unit of the mounted position on the housing biasing said floating link area in the direction of said play to ensure a good electrical contact with the corresponding pad of the trip unit, independently of the positioning faults of both casings.
  • [0007]
According to a particular embodiment of the invention, the interchangeable magnetothermal release unit comprises a device for adjusting the thermal trip thresholds and / or said electromagnetic actuators, said electromagnetic release is formed by a fixed magnetic circuit U-shaped crossed by said conductor and cooperating with a ferromagnetic moving vane. The latter is biased in separated position by a tension spring anchored at its opposite end to a of the gap adjustment bar. The variation of the gap occurs via a spacer rod coupled between the adjustment bar and the blade, and extending parallel to the return spring and at a short distance thereof.
  • [0008]
The presence of the spacer rod allows a factory setting of the air gap and cancels the forces exerted by the restoring spring on the adjustment bar. The result of this relative position of the spacer rod and the spring that any gap change of the electromagnetic trip maintains the constant tensile force of the return spring.

The intermediate housing 14 includes a central partition 20 parallel to the funds, and sharing the inner space of the housing 12 into two superposed compartments, one upper 22 and one lower 24, insulated from each other. An opening is formed in the upper face of the cover 16 to allow passage of a handle 26 to maneuver associated with the control mechanism (not shown) disposed in the upper compartment 22. The four identical poles of the breaking unit 10 are juxtaposed in the lower compartment 24 in planes parallel to that of Figure 1. the operating mechanism common to all the poles is advantageously associated with an intermediate pole, so as to transmit the movement to the poles juxtaposed by means of a rod 28 solidarity actuation of the contact arm 30 of each pole. The transverse bar 28 is housed in the lower compartment 24 and extends perpendicularly to the different contact arm 30, which are actuated simultaneously during the displacement movement of the bar 28 between the positions opening and closing the circuit breaker.
  • [0011]
A each pair of fixed contacts 34 and mobile 32 is associated with an arc extinguishing chamber 40 of plate deionization tion arranged in the lower compartment 24 between the conductor 36 of the fixed contact support 34 and the base plate 18. a spring compression 42 interposed between the bar 28 and the contact arm 30 ensures a proper contact pressure in the contact closed position 32, 34.
  • [0012]
The opening of the circuit breaker operates in a conventional manner by a rotation in the counterclockwise direction of a watch of the bar 28 under the action of the control mechanism controlled manually by the handle 26 and automatically by a magnetothermal trip unit 44. each pole of the circuit breaker associated with a thermal element and an electromagnetic element accommodated in the shutter block 44, so as to cause the circuit breaker trip respectively when an overload current or short circuit.
  • [0013]
The magnetothermal trip unit 44 (Figures 2 and 6 to 8) is interchangeable depending on the size selected circuit breaker and is arranged in a housing (46) of molded insulating material including the lower bottom 48 is opened. The number of poles of the trip unit 44 corresponds to the breaking unit 10, and a range of removable trip units 44 of identical structure, but having different release characteristics, is associated with a same cutoff unit 10 to constitute the circuit breakers of different calibres. Each circuit breaker is formed by a modular assembly of the standard cut-off block 10 and a predetermined trip unit 44.
  • [0014]
The trip unit 44 is inserted through the open bottom 48 in a housing 49 of the base 18 of the breaking unit 10, and comprises 50R pads, 50S, 50T, 50N coming into contact by superposition with 52R bonding pads, 52S , 52T, 52N corresponding poles of the breaking unit 10. the electrical continuity of the blocks 10 and 44 in the assembled position occurs by means of a screw connection 54, which passes through holes 55, 53 aligned, formed respectively in each pair of superimposed beaches 50R, 52R; 50S, 52S ; 50S, 52S; 50T, 52T ; 50T, 52T; 50N, 52N. 50N, 52N. The head of each screw 54 is carried by a transverse rim 56 of the housing 46, the opposite face serves to support the fixed ranges 50R connection to 50N of the trigger block 44. A nut 58 cooperating with the screw 54 during the clamping is secured to the lower face 60 of each track 52R, 52S, 52T, 52N cutoff block 10, opposite the face 62 of contact with the track 50R, 50S, 50T, 50N conjugated block 44. Two connecting braids or shunts 64, 66 (figures 3 to 5) are welded to the lower face 60 of each track 52R to 52N and the movable contact arm 30 of the corresponding pole. 5). The bonding pad 52R to 52N of each pole is positioned with clearance in a transverse groove 68 of the intermediate housing 14 (see the left half view of Fig. 5). The groove 68 is delimited at its upper part by a stop formed by two flanges 70, 72, arranged in the projections 74 of the casing 14 at the subdividing panels of two adjacent poles. The upper shoulders 76 of the projections 74 of the casing 14 are formed as bearing face of the trip unit 44, the housing 44 rests on the other hand on the edge of opposite side walls of the base 18.
  • [0015]
5). During the establishment of the intermediate casing 14 of the base 18, each said bonding pad 52R, 52S, 52T, 52N bears on the edge of a transverse wall 78 separating the housing 49 (see right half view, fig. 5). A predetermined interval remains in the height direction between the contact face 62 of each track 52R to 52N and the flanges 70, 72 of the corresponding stop of the housing 14. This results in a floating mounting of the tracks 52R binding 52N cutoff block 10 when fitting the housings of the base 18 and the intermediate housing 14.
  • [0016]
In contrast to connection pads 50R 50N to the trip unit 44 includes connection terminals 80R, 80S, 80T, 80N cooperating with fixed blocks 82 housed in the base 18 to form the connection terminals of the downstream circuit breaker, terminals upstream 38 being connected directly to the fixed contacts 34 of the corresponding poles of the breaking unit 10. Upon insertion of the trip unit 44 in the housing 49, the shoulders 76 of the intermediate casing 14, the opposite sidewalls of the base 18 and the pads 82 positioning in height the block 44 with a precision dependent on the height differences and possible deformations of the plastic. The floating mounting of each said bonding pad 52R to 52N in the interval overcomes molding inaccuracies in the housing 46 of the trip unit 44 and the 12 of the breaking unit 10, and ensures reliable electrical connection at each pole. When tightening the connecting screws 54, each 52R beach floating 52N cutoff block 10 is biased in the direction of the height to implement its contact face 62 against the fixed range corresponding 50N to 50R connecting the trip unit 44.
  • [0017]
The triggering elements (fig. 2 and 6 to 8) of the poles of the trip unit 44 are identical and subsequently, it will be described only one of them, namely that associated with T. Phase the pad 50T 80T and the connection range are interconnected by a conductor 84 passing longitudinally through the shutter block 44 and extending in alignment with the pair of contacts 32, 34 of the corresponding pole of the breaking unit 10. the driver 84 is traversed by the current of the pole and is inserted between the legs 86, 88 of a magnetic circuit 90 U-92 cooperating with a mobile blade made of ferromagnetic material to form the electromagnetic trip element responsive to a short current -circuit. The driver 84 has a curved U-shaped structure whose middle portion is pressed against the base 93 of the magnetic circuit 90 by means of a bolt assembly 94. An insulating washer 96 is interposed between the base 93 and the conductor 84 , and the bolt head 94 bears against a projection 98 of the housing 46. the middle portion of the conductor 84 is thus trapped between the magnetic circuit 90 and the housing 46.

The thermal release element includes a bimetallic strip 100 along secured by riveting to the conductor 84. The bimetallic element 100 extends substantially in the vertical median plane arranged between 50T and 80T beaches and is indirectly heated by conduction during current flow in the conductor 84. the free end of the bimetallic strip 100 cooperates in a sufficient deflection with a finger 102 carried by a common rod 104 main trigger. The latter is mounted with limited rotation on a pin 106 positioned transversely in the housing 46 in the direction of the bar 28.

The pallet 92 pivotally electromagnetic release element has two wings 108, 110 side-fitted between the two legs 86, 88 of the magnetic circuit 90 in U. The end of each wing 108, 110 comprises a notch 112 semi- open mounted on a pin 114 fixed projecting towards the inside of the leg 86, 88 associated to form the hinge of the pallet 92. a tab 116 integrally control the pallet 92 is capable of cooperating with an extension 118 of the trip bar 104 when the main magnetic field generated by a short-circuit current flowing through the conductor 84 causes the attraction of the blade 92 against the polar surface 120 of front end faces of the legs 86, 88 of the magnetic circuit 90.
  • [0020]
An adjusting rod 122 of the electromagnetic trigger extends parallel to the trip bar 104 above the pallet 92, and is rotatably mounted in bearings of the housing 46 to cause a variation of the air gap formed between the pallet 92 and 120 corresponding pole face. A spacer rod 124 (Fig. 2 and 8) is coupled unidirectional tionally between the adjusting rod 122 and the movable blade 92 to transmit the rod of the adjusting movement 122 to the pallet 92 without hindering the electromagnetic attraction of the latter against the pole face 120 upon the occurrence of a short circuit current.
  • [0021]
A tension spring 126 anchored between the adjusting rod 122 and each mobile pallet 92, extends parallel to and at short distance from the spacer rod 124 associated, and biases the movable pallet 92 to the inactive position away from the surface pole 120. One of the ends of the spacer rod 124 is secured mechanically to the movable blade 92, and its opposite end has an extension 128 bearing against a seat 130 of the adjustment rod 122. the tip 128 is extended by a threaded rod 132 projecting from the rod 122 and cooperating with a nut 134 to form a length of the spacer rod adjusting device 124 constituting a factory setting of the gap.
  • [0022]
The pivoting of the adjustment rod 122 of the air gap of the magnetic circuits 90 is controlled by a customer setting button 136 of the electromagnetic trip threshold. A torsion spring 138 (Fig. 2) acts in the clockwise direction and urges the rod 122 bears against the button 136.
  • [0023]
The bar 104 of the main tripping bimetal 100 receives the pulses and pallet 92 respectively upon occurrence of an overcurrent or short circuit, and cooperates with the latch 139 of an energy storage device 140 the striker 142 which causes the automatic tripping of the mechanism for controlling the breaking unit 10 resulting in opening of the contacts of the circuit breaker.
  • [0024]
Le fonctionnement d'un pôle du déclencheur électromagnétique et le réglage usine et client du seuil de déclenchement électromagnétique s'effectuent de la manière suivante : The operation of a pole of the electromagnetic release and the factory setting and customer electromagnetic trip threshold are made as follows:
The threshold of the factory setting occurs in the separated position of the pallet 92 by varying the length of the spacer rod 124 through the endpiece 134 adjustable. The presence of the spacer rod 124 cancels the other, the forces exerted by the spring 126 return the control rod 122.
  • [0025]
The length of the spacer rod 124 being fixed, the threshold of the client adjustment is effected by rotation of the knob 136 causing pivoting in a given direction the adjustment rod 122. This causes the tip 128 of the spacer rod 124 in a direction of approaching or spacing of the pallet 92 relative to the pole face 120 on which it is desired to increase or decrease the air gap. During this air gap variation, the tension spring 126 is buttressed to the spacer rod 124 of predetermined length, and the pallet 92 is then subjected to a return force of constant intensity to the desired threshold.
  • [0026]
The occurrence of a short-circuit current in the pole causes after passing the threshold set by the gap, the electromagnetic attraction of the blade 92 against the pole face 120 of the magnetic circuit 90. This results in a pivoting in the anticlockwise (fig. 2) of the main tripping bar 104 actuated to the released position by means of the control tab 116 of the mobile pallet 92. During the stroke of attraction, the pallet 92 causes the spacer rod 124 downwardly through the vertical displacement of the endpiece 128 in the orifice defined by the seat 130 of the adjustment rod 122. The latter remains substantially stationary when the tip 128 leaves the seat 130 in the attracted position of the pallet 92.
  • [0027]
La barre de déclenchement principal 104 et le barreau de réglage 122 du seuil de déclenchement électromagnétique sont situés de part et d'autre du plan vertical médian dans lequel s'étendent les bilames 100, ces derniers n'étant pas affectés par l'échauffement au niveau du raccordement des plages 50R à 50N ; The main trip bar 104 and the adjustment rod 122 of the electromagnetic trip threshold are located on either side of the median vertical plane in which extend the bimetals 100, these latter are not affected by heating at at the connection of the tracks 50R to 50N; 80R à 80N du bloc déclencheur 44. 80N 80R to the trip unit 44.
  • [0028]
The invention is of course in no way limited to embodiment more particularly described and shown in the drawing, but it extends on the contrary to any variant within the scope of the electro-technical equivalences, particularly one in which each pad 50R, 50S, 50T, 50N of the trip unit 44, instead of being fixed (as shown in FIGS. 1-8) is floatingly mounted in the housing 46 for cooperating with the bonding pad 52R, 52S, 52T, floating or fixed 52N of the corresponding pole of the breaking unit 10.
