Abstract

Procede de propulsion d'un vehicule pourvu de roues possedant une ligne d'entrainement avec une machine motrice ou moteur (10), un dispositif de stockage d'energie ou volant (16), un embrayage (14) entre le moteur et le volant, ainsi qu'une unite (20) de transmission variable en continu, dans lequel l'operation de consommation de carburant du moteur est limitee de maniere a ne pas descendre au-dessous d'un niveau minimum predetermine de rendement thermique en cas de besoin pour developper de l'energie motrice pour le systeme. L'energie motrice developpee excedant le niveau necessaire pour propulser le vehicule est stockee sous forme d'energie cinetique par l'accroissement de la vitesse de rotation du volant resultant de l'excedent d'energie motrice. Le fonctionnement du moteur pour developper une quantite d'energie depassant le niveau minimum de rendement thermique peut suivre une ligne theorique de fonctionnement ou peut atteindre le niveau maximum d'energie selon la maniere conventionnelle.
