Bei dieser Konstruktion treten Schwierigkeiten beim Abheben des obersten Stirndeckels eines Stapels und beim Transport des horizontalen Stirndeckels vom Stapel zur Packpresse auf. Insbesondere muß der Saugdruck möglichst gleichmäßig über die Fläche des Stirndeckels verteilt und verhältnismäßig groß sein. Dies hat umgekehrt zur Folge, daß bei kleinen Stirndeckeln zahlreiche Saugöffnungen nicht abgedeckt sind und einen Nebenschluß ergeben, der Verluste hervorruft und den wirksamen Saugdruck beeinträchtigt. Dies hat zur Folge, daß verhältnismäßig kleine Saugköpfe verwendet werden können, deren Durchmesser geringer ist als derjenige des kleinsten Stirndeckels. Entsprechend gering sind die Verluste. Der Transport der Stirndeckel-Stapel in die vertikale Arbeitsstellung bereitet keine Schwierigkeiten, da die Stapel in ihrer Schublade transportiert und gekippt werden. Bei der Verpackungseinrichtung nach Fig. 1 wird eine zu verpackende Papierrolle 1 in Richtung des Pfeiles 2 antransportiert. Aus Stirndekkelmagazinen 3 werden innere Stirndeckel entnommen und mit Hilfe einer Befestigungsvorrichtung'4 an den Stirnseiten der Rolle 1 angebracht. Diese Befestigungsvorrichtung 4 dient gleichzeitig als Zentrierstation, um die Rolle mit Bezug auf eine nachfolgende Wickelstation 5 auszurichten. Auf der Wickelstation wird die Rolle 1 mit Hilfe von Walzen 6 in Richtung des Pfeiles 1 a in Drehung versetzt und mit dem Abschnitt einer Packpapierbahn 7 umwickelt, die von einer von mehreren Packpapierrollen 8 unterschiedlicher Breite mit Hilfe von Vorzugswalzen 9 abgezogen worden ist. In einer anschließenden Faltstation 10 werden die überstehenden Ränder des Packpapiers mit Hilfe eines Faltrades 11 zur Außenseite des inneren Stirndeckels hin umgefaltet. Aus weiteren Stirndeckelmagazinen 12 werden äußere Stirndeckel entnommen und in einer Packpresse 13 außen auf die Papierrollen-Stirnflächen aufgeklebt. Alsdann wird die fertig verpackte Rolle 1 in Richtung des Pfeiles 14 abtransportiert. Eine Vielzahl von Stopfen 39 sind in einem Stopfenmagazin 40 angeordnet, mit welchem Stopfen in Richtung des Pfeils 41 zuführbar sind. Die Stopfen können mit Hilfe einer Stopfeneinschiebevorrichtung 42 in Richtung des Pfeiles 43 durch ein Loch 44 in dem Haltekopf 36 in Richtung auf die Mittelebene 18 geschoben werden. Nach dem der Haltekopf 36 bis in die Höhe der Achse der Rolle 1 abgesenkt und die beiden Zentrierblöcke 32 in Zentrierlage bis an die Stirnseiten der Rolle 1 herangefahren worden sind, wird die Einschiebevorrichtung 42 betätigt. Jede Schublade enthält einen Stapel 51 mit äußeren Stirndeckeln 52. Eine Schubladen-Transportvorrichtung 53 weist Querführungen 54 auf. Ferner sind durch einen Pfeil 55 angedeutete Querförderer vorhanden, welche eine Schublade aus demjenigen Fach 47, das den Querführungen gegenüberliegt, in die Stellung 50a zu verlagern vermag. Ein Kippantrieb 56 schwenkt die Schublade um eine Kippachse 57 in Richtung des Pfeiles 58 in die Stellung 50b, wobei die offene Seite der Schublade diesmal der Mittelebene 18 zugewandt ist. Eine Übertragungsvorrichtung bildet einen Längsförderer 59. Sie weist ein Haltelement 60 auf, das in ähnlicher Weise wie der Haltekopf 36 mit Saugöffnungen versehen ist. Das Halteelement sitzt an einem Schwenkarm 61, der um eine horizontale Achse 62 schwenkbar ist. Claims (13)

1. Device for the packaging of rolls, with an automatic feed of end covers (22, 52) to be applied to the end faces of the rolls, wherein an end cover magazine (3, 12) has a plurality of storage spaces (20, 50) for receiving end covers of different size and, when desired, one of the storage spaces can be broutht into a working position (20b, 50b) in which one end cover (22) is taken of by means of a suction force (38, 67), and the end cover (22) is then transferred to the holder head (36, 66) of a device for fixing an end cover to the roll (1), characterised in that the storage spaces are formed by drawers (20, 50) arranged one above the other in compartments (17, 47) of a shelf (16, 46), and that a drawer-transport device (23, 53) is provided which takes one drawer from its compartment each time, tilts it into the at least approximately vertically arranged working position (20b, 50b) and, after one end cover (32, 52) has been taken off, moves it back again into the compartment.
2. Device according to claim 1, characterised in that two shelves (16, 46) with mutually facing compartments (17, 47) are arranged on either side of the roll passage track and that the drawers (20, 50) can be tilted into the vertical working position (20b, 50b) located between the respective shelf and the roll passage track.
3. Device according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the drawer-transport device (23, 53) has horizontal transverse guides (24, 54) arranged at a fixed height and the height of the shelf (16, 46) is adjustable in such a way that always one compartment (17, 47) is located on a prolongation of the transverse guides.
4. Device according to one of claims 1 to 3, charaterised in that the shelf (16, 46) is arranged with an offset relativ to the holder head (36, 66) in the direction of the roll passage and that a longitudinal conveyor (23a; 59) transports the end covers (52, 22) in the vertical position from the shelf to the holder head.
5. Device according to claim 4, characterised in that the longitudinal conveyor ist formed by a transfer device (59) with an upright holder element (60) which transports one end cover (52) each time.
6. Device according to claim 5, characterised in that the holder element (60) is mounted on an arm (61) pivotable about a horizontal axis (62).
7. Device according to claim 4, characterised in that the longitudinal conveyor (23a) is a part of the drawertransport device (23) and has longitudinal guides (27), with the aid of which one drawer (20) can be transported into the vertical position each time.
8. Device according to one of claims 1 to 7, characterised in that the height of the holder head (36) is adjustable.
9. Device according to claim 5, characterised in that the height of the holder element (60) of the longitudinal conveyor is adjustable.
10. Device according to one of claims 1 to 9, characterised in that the drawer-transport device (23) tilts the drawer (20) downwards about an axis (29) on the side remote from the shelf (16), and the holder head (36) takes the end cover (22) out of the drawer.
11. Device according to one of claims 5, 6 and 9, characterised in that the drawer-transport device (53) tilts the drawer (50) downwards about an axis (57) on the side facing the shelf (46), and the transfer device (59) takes the end cover (52) out of the drawer and transfers it to the baling press plate (66) acting as the holder head.
12. Device according to one of claims 1 to 11, characterised in that a device for fixing inner end covers (22) with a central hole to a roll (1) provided with the tube (45) has a holder head (36) which comprises a channel (44) which is connected to a plug magazine (40) and throug which holder plugs (39) can be pushed into the hole and tube by means of a pushing device (42).
13. Device according to claim 12, characterised in that the holder heads (36) are formed by the thrust faces of a roll-centring station (4).
