Abstract

L'invention concerne un boitier pour le stockage sous eau d'assemblages combustibles.
Il comporte une enveloppe métallique parallélépipé­ dique revêtue extèrieurement d'une matière absorbant les neutrons. L'épaisseur de l'enveloppe métallique est comprise entre 1,5 et 2,5 mm et l'épaisseur du revêtement est au plus égale à 2 mm. La masse de carbure de bore par cm2 de surface du boitier est supérieure à 0.146 g. Le revêtement peut être obtenu par projection au chalumeau­ plasma de grains de carbure de bore entièrement enrobés dans du nickel ou par dépôt gravitaire de carbure de bore fixé sur le boitier par dépôt électrolytique ou chimique de nickel.
L'invention s'applique au stockage d'assemblages combustibles en piscine du combustible.
