Description

The invention relates to a packaging for electrical components, which are held in rows, preformed receptacles of a band-shaped plastic film, which are covered with an adhesive film coated on the side facing the plastic film with an adhesive layer, in particular a paper tape, which on its adhesive layer in Partial areas carries a cover sheet.

A packaging of this type is known from US-A 3 630 346, in which the cover film does not have a continuous, i.e. tape-like cover film, but a cover film that is isolated in a plurality of films in accordance with the number of receptacles to be covered. With such a partial covering of the adhesive layer, as far as opening the packaging is concerned, no full automation can be achieved. This film with its isolated cover films is also considerably more expensive to produce than an adhesive film with a continuous cover film. In this known packaging, the cover film, which is limited only to the cup area, inevitably leads to an increase in the total length of the separating edge and, if the separating edge is inadequate, to a large extent only incomplete removal of the cover and adhesive film. The result is that malfunctions can occur, particularly in the case of fully automatic removal in automatic placement machines.

The packaging according to US Pat. No. 3,630,346 has tear tabs which are designed as separate elements, but which can only be pulled off transversely to the longitudinal direction of the packaging and consequently hinder fully automated opening of the packaging or at least require a correspondingly complex opening mechanism.

So far, electrical components, especially if they are sensitive, ceramic components such as ferrite shell cores, have been manually or individually paired or set in styrofoam pallets. These pallets are layered into packaging units, covered with a corrugated cardboard end plate and connected with adhesive tape.

There are a number of difficulties with this type of packaging. In addition to a low packaging density, which requires a lot of storage space for the empty and the filled packaging, the high insurance costs for the storage space must be mentioned, which are due to the risk of fire of the styrofoam. It should also be mentioned that with this type of packaging, it is only possible to divide the packaging for small quantities (packaged individual parts, sets or pairs) with a lot of repacking work and with reduced packaging quality.

Mechanized and automatic feeding and insertion of the parts into the styrofoam pallets is so expensive that it is not practical.

The object of the invention is therefore to provide packaging for isolated electrical components in which the difficulties outlined above do not occur. In particular, it is an object of the invention to provide packaging in and from which the electrical components can be packaged or removed fully automatically and without manual assistance.

According to the invention, this object is achieved in that the adhesive layer is exposed along the edge and, if appropriate, central strips which run in the longitudinal direction of the packaging on either side of or between the receiving cups, in that the regions of the adhesive film between these edge and central strips are completely covered by the cover film, and that the adhesive film has tear-grip tabs at its ends, by means of which it can be removed from the plastic film.

Appropriate configurations of the packaging according to the invention are specified in the subclaims.

  • Fig. 1 ein Schnittbild und
  • Fig. 2 eine Draufsicht auf die erfindungsgemässe Verpackung.
The advantages of the invention are shown with the aid of a performance example. The accompanying drawing shows:
  • Fig. 1 is a sectional view and
  • Fig. 2 is a plan view of the packaging according to the invention.

An den Aufnahmenäpfen 2, 3 sind Dämpfungsrippen 9, 10 angeordnet, durch welche Stoss- und Druckbelastungen von den elektrischen Bauelementen 4, 5 ferngehalten werden.1 shows a section through the packaging according to the invention, in which, according to the exemplary embodiment described, two rows of electrical components, for example paired ferrite shell cores, are packaged. The packaging consists of a preformed, one-piece plastic film 1 in which receptacles 2, 3 are arranged. The electrical components 4, 5 are located in the receiving cups 2, 3 (in the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 1, ferrite shell cores). The receptacles 2, 3 are closed with a one-piece adhesive film. The adhesive film consists of the paper tape 6 on which a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer 7 is arranged. The pressure-sensitive adhesive layer 7 bonds the paper tape 6 to the plastic film 1. In the area of the receiving cups 2, 3, the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer 7 is provided with a cover film 8, which is formed, for example, by a silicone paper. Damping ribs 9, 10 are arranged on the receiving cups 2, 3, by means of which shock and pressure loads are kept away from the electrical components 4, 5.

Ferner ist in der Fig. die Schnittebene I-I dargestellt, unter der die Fig. 1 betrachtet wird.2 shows a top view of the packaging according to the invention. Furthermore, the sectional plane I-I is shown in the figure, under which the figure 1 is considered.

In FIG. 2 it can be seen that the receiving cups 2, 3, in which the electrical components are located, are arranged in the plastic film 1. The damping ribs 9, 10 are arranged on the receiving cups 2, 3.

Within the dashed stripes 11, 12 Both edges and the central strip 13, the cover film is removed from the adhesive film which is not visible in the figure, so that the paper film is bonded to the plastic film 1 on these strips.

Handle bottles 14, 15 are arranged on the packaging, which enable the packaging to be torn open more easily.

The automatic packaging process takes place, for example, in such a way that the receiving cups 2, 3 with the damping ribs 9, 10 are drawn into the heated, band-shaped plastic film 1 (for example made of PVC or polystyrene) with compressed air. After the electrical components 4, 5 have been inserted, the receptacles 2, 3 are closed by the paper sealing film 6 laminated with the pressure-sensitive adhesive 7 by pressing rollers. For this purpose, for example, a one-piece paper sealing film 6 is selected, the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer 7 of which is covered by a covering film (for example made of silicone paper). 2 separating edges are then arranged in the cover film in the area of the surfaces to be bonded, that is to say the edge strips 11, 12 or the central strip 13 according to FIG. 2, and the cover film is pulled off at these points before the receiving cups 2, 3 are closed.

To open the packaging, the paper sealing film is gripped in the area of the tear-grip bottles 14, 15 and separated from the plastic film. The fact that the adhesive layer is arranged only in the area of the edge strips 11, 12 or the central strip 13 means that the packaging can be opened correctly and quickly without any annoying residues remaining. The cover film 8 serves as a tear film in this process.

By molding conically drawn receiving cups 2, there is the advantage that the electrical components 4, 5 can be easily removed from the receiving cups 2, 3 after opening.

In the embodiment shown in FIG. 2, the individual strips can, for example, be cut off in any quantity, the grip tabs 14, 15 being expediently produced when the strips are cut off, and further packed in a container, for example in a carton. However, it is also possible to endlessly wind the packaging onto a spool and store it in this manner.

With both types of packaging, there is the advantage that shock and pressure loads are absorbed in both the horizontal and vertical directions, so that high packaging quality is achieved. This is due to the fact that the bowl contours are separated from each other and damping ribs are provided in the bottom of the bowls.

The exclusive use of thin-walled film as packaging material also ensures a high packaging density. This means that a small storage space is required to store the finished packaging.

It should also be mentioned that the insurance costs for the storage of plastic film are lower than for polystyrene packaging.

A further advantage is that with the packaging according to the invention, the packaging can be divided into very small quantities without great repackaging effort, without the packaging quality being reduced thereby.

Of course, the invention is not limited to the exemplary embodiment shown in the figures, but rather electrical components can also be packed in a row, for which purpose two continuous notches are then made in the cover film only on the outer band edges, and thus two strips on the edge of the cover films let it peel off. The sealing film is then connected to the plastic film with the then exposed two adhesive webs.

On the other hand, three, four and more rows of components can of course also be packed next to one another, in which case corresponding notches must be arranged in the cover film.

Since the starting material for the packaging is in the form of thin, wound foils, only a particularly small amount of space is required for storage before processing.

By packaging the electrical components in a single, double or multiple row and the smooth surface structure of the film, the electrical components can be fed fully automatically and inserted into the receptacles. The receptacles are drawn into the plastic film according to the size of the electrical component to be packaged.
