Damit der Bedienungsperson die exakte Einstellung der Drucktypen an der Druckposition erleichtert wird, wird eine Hemmvorrichtung verwendet, die verhindert, _daß sich die Schaltsterne frei drehen können. Diese Hemmvorrichtung ist so ausgebildet, daß sie jeden Schaltstern in einer bestimmten Stellung festhält und ein Verdrehen der Schaltsterne nur nach Überwindung einer gewissen Kraft zuläßt. Bei den verwendeten viereckigen Schaltsternen wirkt die Hemmvorrichtung kraftschlüssig auf den Umfangsflächenteil der Schaltsterne ein, die dem Umfangsflächenteil gegenüberliegt, auf den die in der Druckposition befindlichen Drucktypen liegen. Für die Bedienungsperson, die durch Drehen des Drehknopfs 10 die Verstellung der Typenbänder vornimmt, sind die bei der Einwirkung einer Schaltsternecke auf eine Federzunge 26 auftretenden Kraftspitzen deutlich fühlbar, so daß sie weiß, daß jedesmal dann, wenn eine Kraftspitze überwunden worden ist, der gerade bewegte Schaltstern eine definierte Position einnimmt, in der sich eine Drucktype 5 genau in der Druckposition der Drucktypen 9 befindet.
