- the efficiency of the jet pump depends on the matching between the divergence ratio of the jet pump nozzle and the pressure into which the nozzle discharges.
- stability of the pressure at the point at which the jet discharges is afforded as follows: When the flow to the cyclone is restricted the induced flow through the jet pump will be low so that the pressure depression in the jet pump will be high as a consequence thereof. Should the flow to the cyclone be unencumbered the induced flow will be high as a result of which the pressure depression over the profile will be high.
