Abstract

Le corps de trépan (2) est fixé à l'extrémité inférieure d'un train de tiges engagées dans le trou de sondage (1). Le bossage (4) faisant saillie à l'intérieur de la cavité sphérique (3) supporte l'arbre (6) qui porte l'élément rotatif (11) de forme sphérique maintenu en place par l'écrou (7). La surface extérieure de l'élément (11) est garnie de particules dures, par exemple des grains de métal dur ou des éléments de diamant. Par suite de l'entraínement du corps de trépan (2) autour de son axe et du frottement de la surface (18), l'élément rotatif (11) tourne nécessairement sur l'arbre (6), de sorte que l'ensemble de la face inférieure du trou (1) est attaquée par abrasion.
