Description

The invention relates to an ink fountain for receiving printing inks, consisting of side parts and a knife-carrying knife which can be pretensioned by ink zone screws to an ink fountain roller, and which runs along an ink fountain roller and on which the ink knife is clamped at its upper end.

From DE-C-1 053 530 a paint box of the type described above is already known which, in addition to the usual ink zone adjusting screws, an adjusting device which extends over the entire width of the roller for simultaneous activation and deactivation of all ink zone adjusting screws for changing the color strength while maintaining the color profile and also one Override device for pressing the ink knife over the entire width of the roller to close the ink gap. The bearings for these adjusting means are held stationary on the ink fountain, so that an enlargement of the ink gap beyond the maximum size specified by the adjusting device is only possible by an individual additional rotation of all ink zone adjustment screws.

In this prior publication it is also mentioned that for cleaning the ink fountain, this, including ink fountain keys and ink knife, is adjustable relative to the ink fountain roller.

Tilting the u. U. completely filled with paint ink box, however, requires considerable effort and should also be seen from the risk of contamination, not without problems.

The object of the invention is to further develop an ink fountain of the type specified at the outset in order to enable the same to be emptied without having to pivot the ink fountain itself with all of its adjusting devices for the color knife or to have to twist the ink fountain key.

This object is achieved in accordance with the characterizing part of patent claim 1. Advantageous further developments result from the subclaims and from the description in conjunction with the drawings. A major advantage of the invention lies in the ability to completely pivot the bar attached to the ink fountain crossbar by simply loosening fasteners, so that the strongly pre-tensioned knife returns to its relaxed position and thereby releases a gap of the order of 1 to 2 cm, thereby releasing a rapid drain of the highly viscous printing ink located in the ink fountain is guaranteed, after which the ink fountain can be cleaned. This is particularly advantageous in printing press inking units, where frequent color changes are required. Another advantage is the possibility of cleaning only the edge of the ink knife, for which a partial swiveling of the bar is sufficient. Since the color zone screws guided in the bar to be swiveled out are not influenced in their individual setting by this swivel process, very good reproducibility is guaranteed after cleaning or re-setting the color knife. With a rake angle of the order of about 20 degrees between the color knife and the crossbeam carrying it, there is very good separation of the color zones due to the bending behavior of the knife. In addition, with such a large pre-tension, the dreaded "knife jumping" is prevented when adjusting. As is known, such a “knife jumping” occurs when adjusting only slightly pre-tensioned color knives, whereby when a certain color zone is adjusted, the deflection of the knife there can “jump” to another color zone. Another advantage is the possibility to use scale rings with stops and to remotely control the setting of the ink fountain keys using a servomotor on the swivel bar. Another advantage is the use of multi-part ink boxes, since middle or inner sections, z. B. with four-plate-wide paint boxes, the two inner sections can be pivoted individually.

In diesem zeigt

  • Fig. 1 einen Schnitt durch den erfindungsgemäßen Farbkasten,
  • Fig. 2 eine seitliche Teilansicht und
The invention is described in detail below using exemplary embodiments with reference to the drawings. In this shows
  • 1 shows a section through the ink fountain according to the invention,
  • Fig. 2 is a partial side view and
  • Fig. 3 shows a section through an ink fountain according to a second embodiment.

The ink fountain 1 shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 is arranged on an ink fountain roller 2 so that it forms the end of the ink fountain on the right-hand side (FIG. 1). The ink fountain 1 is closed on both sides with side parts 3, on each of which a paint wiper 4 is arranged to prevent the paint from escaping. An inclined ink fountain crossmember 5 virtually forms the back or the bottom part of the ink fountain. The with viscous z. B. offset printing ink-filled ink fountain 1 can be covered by a cover plate 6, so that no objects can fall into the ink fountain 1 and this is largely protected from contamination.

On the crossmember 5 is arranged a parallel to the axis of the ink fountain rollers 2 terminal block 7, which can be pressed by the hexagon socket 8 against the crossmember 5. As a result, a color knife 10 which can be suspended in cylindrical pins 9 can be fixed in a defined position between the ink fountain crossmember 5 and the terminal strip 7.

The ink fountain 1 designed according to the invention has a swiveling lower part which comprises a bar 11. In the bar 11 are a number of ink zone screws 12 out at a distance of about 40 mm. The bar 11 is held on both sides by pivot bolts 13 which, as will be described in detail later, allows the bar 11 and thus the zone screws 12 arranged therein to be pivoted away. The strip 12 is held on the ink fountain crossmember 5 by these knurled screws 14. By loosening the knurled screw 14, the bar 11 can be separated from the ink fountain cross member 5 and swivels downwards until it assumes the position 12 shown in broken lines and comes to rest at the point indicated by the arrow A.

For easier adjustment of the ink fountain key 12 in the engaged state, in which the bar 11 is connected to the ink fountain cross member 5, each ink fountain bolt 12 carries a scale ring 15. The advantage of this scale ring 15 is that in an extreme position or at a desired gap Ink fountain roller 2 of the ink fountain key 12 a definition of this position is possible by appropriate adjustment of the scale rings and fixation by means of a set screw 16.

In the above-described, adjusted state, an exact setting of the ink fountain keys 12, which is also reproducible, is possible in order to carry out a corresponding profiling of the ink film to be produced on the ink roller 2 during printing. It is understood that the setting range of the ink fountain keys 12 is dimensioned such that the gap between the ink knife 10 and the ink fountain roller 12 also in the outermost, i.e. H. in the retracted position does not allow the viscous ink to escape significantly. If a complete adjustment of the ink knife 10 while overriding the ink fountain key setting values is required or desired, this adjustment can be achieved in the usual way by turning a knurled screw 17, the amount of movement of which can be adjusted by means of an adjusting ring 18. The knurled screw 17 acts on a storage bar 19 which runs below the ink knife 10 in the vicinity of the ink fountain roller 2. By turning the knurled screw 17, the ink knife 10 is thus moved upward by a value limited by the adjusting ring 18, which is dimensioned such that damage to the ink fountain roller surface is avoided, as a result of which the ink delivery can be stopped.

If for cleaning purposes an emptying of the ink fountain 1, z. B. for a subsequent color change, is required, as already described, by loosening the knurled screw 14, the strip 11 from the ink fountain cross member 5, whereby it can be pivoted downwards. By pivoting the bar 11, the ends of the ink fountain keys 12, which press the ink knife 10 against the ink fountain roller 2, are simultaneously pivoted away from the ink knife 10, which was extremely pre-tensioned by them. As a result of this prestressing, the ink knife 10 with the ink box cross member 5 underneath formed an angle of approximately 20 degrees. After the ink fountain keys 12 are no longer in contact with the ink knife 10, the latter relaxes and swings down. This creates a gap with a width of at least 10 mm, preferably 20 mm, between the lower edge of the ink knife 10 and the ink fountain roller 2. This gap now enables the viscous printing ink to flow off via a drop guard 20 into a collecting trough 21 arranged below the ink fountain roller 2. After the ink in the ink fountain 1 has drained away, it can be cleaned and filled with another ink. If only the ink knife edge is to be cleaned, a slight swiveling of the bar 11 is also sufficient. The bar 11 is held on both sides by the pivot bolts 13, which can be arranged, for example, in bearings. The pivot bolts 13 or the bearings receiving them are held on one side in a tab 22 connected to the ink fountain crossmember 5 and on the other side in a tab 23 connected to the bar 11. For example, as shown at 24 and 25 for tab 22, the tabs can be secured by screws.

In contrast to the arrangement of the knurled screw 14 in FIG. 1 on the underside of the ink fountain 1, the knurled screw 114 is on the front side in the embodiment according to FIG. that is, located on the opposite side of the ink fountain roller 102 from the ink fountain 101 at an easily accessible location. The knurled screw 114 penetrates the ink fountain crossmember 105 and engages in a corresponding threaded hole in the strip 111, whereby the strip 111 can be fixed to the ink fountain crossmember 105. The pivoting process in the embodiment according to FIG. 3 is in principle similar to the process described in connection with the embodiment according to FIG. 1. In addition, the knurled screw 117 corresponding to the knurled screw 17 is also on the front of the ink fountain 101, i. H. also arranged at an easily accessible location and penetrates the ink fountain crossmember 105, so that the color storage bar 119, which is provided with a beveled edge, can be shifted to the left, so that the ink knife 110 is moved upwards, ie. H. can be pressed against the ink fountain roller 102.

In addition, in the embodiment according to FIG. 3, a remotely controllable servo motor 126 is shown, which is fixed to the pivotable bar 111. The servomotor 126 is able to move the ink zone screws 112 horizontally via gear wheels 127 and 128 in order to generate the desired ink profile on the ink fountain roller 102. After loosening the knurled screw 114, the bar tilts 111 pivoting downward about the pivot pin 113, whereby the ink knife 110 can free itself from its extreme position and forms a gap which is sufficiently large for the paint to flow off. The ink knife 110 is pressed by the terminal block 107 against the ink box cross member 105 when the hexagon socket screw 108 is tightened.

Claims (9)

1. Ink duct for receiving printing inks, consisting of side parts and a crosspiece running at an incline to and along an ink duct roller, carrying a knife that can be prestressed up to an ink duct roller by ink zone screws, on which crosspiece the ink knife is gripped at its upper end, characterized in that the ink zone screws (12, 112) are received in a strip (11, 111) separated from the crosspiece (5), which strip is mounted tiltably with respect to the crosspiece (5,105) and can be connected rigidly to this by releasable securing elements (14, 114) and positively in such a way that in the firmly connected state of the strip (11, 111), the ink zone screws (12, 112) over their entire adjustment region, hold the resilient ink knife (10, 110) at a correspondingly adjustable distance from the ink duct roller (2, 102), by which the flowing-out of the ink is prevented, whilst in the swung-out end position of the strip, the ink zone screws (12, 112) release the ink knife (10, 110) downwards away from the crosspiece (5), so that this relaxes and moves away from the ink duct roller (2,102) by an amount that makes possible the flowing-out of the ink from the ink duct (1).
2. Ink duct according to claim 1, characterized in that the strip (11, 111) is mounted in brackets (22,23) provided on the crosspiece (5,105).
3. Ink duct according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the ink knife (10, 110) in the adjusted stressed state forms an angle of approximately 20 degrees with the crosspiece (5, 105).
4. Ink duct according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that in the relaxed state of the ink knife (10, 110), the gap between this and the ink duct roller (2, 102) is at least 10 mm wide.
5. Ink duct according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that on the ink zone screws (12, 112) graduated rings (15) are secured which, in the adjusted state in an extreme position or with a desired gap to the ink duct roller (2, 102) of the ink zone adjusting screws (12, 112), can be adjusted to an original value difining this.
6. Ink duct according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the crosspiece (105) and the strip (111) are provided with threaded apertures through which the securing elements can be inserted in the form of securing screws (114) from the front side of the crosspiece (105).
7. Ink duct according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that each ink zone screw (112) can be adjusted by a remotely-controlled servo motor (126) that is secured on the strip (111).
8. Ink duct according to one of the preceding claims, with an overload device for the ink knife, characterized in that the overload device (17, 19, 117, 119) is also mounted on the strip (11, 111) by means of which, in the adjusted state, the ink knife (10) can be adjusted for the purpose of interrupting the inking on the ink duct roller (2, 102) and which, in the swung-out position of the strip, allows the ink knife (10) to move into its relaxed position.
9. Ink duct according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that below the ink duct roller (2) there is provided a catching tank (21).
