Description

B. US-A-4113056).The invention relates to a fold-out trestle, consisting of a rectangular frame with two parallel foot elements, a support rod placed on the upper ends of the foot elements and a support strut connecting the foot elements at or near their lower ends, and folding scissors provided between the frames (see e.g. US-A-4113056).

Such trestles are known and are used, for example, as supports for table tops.

Such trestles are mass-produced goods which can only be offered to the consumer at an acceptable price if the transport costs to the place of manufacture to the point of sale can be kept as low as possible. For this reason, it has previously been customary to stack the trestles on top of one another in the collapsed state and to stow the thus formed stack of, for example, 10 or 15 trestles in a container made of wood or cardboard, which was then transported by truck or train. The protective covering has also been dispensed with and the stack of trestles has been given internal stability by wrapping the stack with strapping tapes.

Since the transport costs depend essentially on the volume used, less on the weight of the goods to be shipped, the trestle designs and palletizing processes used so far have not yet proven to be optimal. The object of the invention is to design a fold-out trestle of the type mentioned at the outset in such a way that it can be palletized much better and in a space-saving manner than the known trestle constructions.

The object is achieved in that the frame has an internal clearance between the support rod and support strut that is equal to or greater than the outer width between the foot elements.

Thanks to this special dimensioning, it is possible to almost double the trestles that can be accommodated per unit volume of the pallet and thus significantly reduce the transport costs.

Due to the special dimensioning, according to the invention a pallet can be formed from a larger number of trestles, for example from 26, 28 or even 30 trestles, which pallet is not or only insignificantly larger than a pallet of z. B. 18 conventional trestles. The pallet according to the invention obtains particularly high internal stability if, according to a further development of the trestle construction, the support rod has a length that is greater than the inner clear height, preferably protrudes at least by a dimension beyond the ends of the foot element that is equal to the (vertical) thickness of the support rods . In addition, if this dimension is at least the distance required to slide in a lifting or transporting device such as a forklift, it will be possible without difficulty to treat the pallet formed from the trestles as a normal European pallet, i.e. H. to be transported by forklift or the like and also to stack the pallets thus formed one above the other.

The pallet formed according to the invention from the blocks does not necessarily have to consist of blocks of the same dimensions. Rather, it is possible to combine trestles of two different dimensions with one another, only certain dimensions having to be observed.

By dimensioning the trestles according to the invention, a method for palletizing trestles can also be realized, in which several (N) trestles are arranged alternately with the support rod up and down in such a way that one (or more) support rods next to one (or more) ) Support struts come to rest and all foot elements are aligned with each other until a stack height or thickness is reached which corresponds essentially to the length of the foot elements of several (M) other trestles, that then these several (M) further trestles in the from the first Trestle formed cavity are inserted until it is filled, and then the trestles are fixed to each other by means of fixing devices such as straps.

U. gewisse Platzeinsparungen bringt. The method according to the invention can be carried out without aids, only appropriate devices may be favorable only for the attachment of fixing devices such as tensioning straps. By alternately stacking one group of trestles, a pallet is formed that can be stacked on several sides. On the other hand, both first and second trestles can each lie in one direction, which adversely affects the stackability, but u. U. brings certain space savings.

A protective strip can be nailed onto the lower foot ends of the palletized trestles, in particular if several pallets are to be stacked one above the other.

Straps can be used in a known manner to fix and bundle the individual pallets, for example two straps attached parallel to one another or two straps crossing one another or a combination of parallel straps and crossing straps. Wrapping with shrink film can also be inexpensive.

The invention is explained in more detail below on the basis of exemplary embodiments which are illustrated in the drawings.

In Fig. 1, a fold-out trestle 10 is shown in a perspective view, consisting of a rectangular frame 12 with two parallel foot elements 14, a support rod 16 placed on the upper ends of the foot elements 14 and one the foot elements 14 at or near their lower ends 18 connecting support strut 20. The frame 12 is present in duplicate and both frames 12 are connected to each other with the abutting support rod surface via hinges 22. To limit the unfolding, folding scissors 24 are also provided between the foot elements 14. The hinges 22 and the folding scissors 24 make it possible to fold the trestle so that the two frames 12 lie exactly on top of one another and the folding scissors 24 lie against the inner (alternatively outer) edge of the foot elements 14 for the purpose of shipping or stacking.

Fig. 2 shows schematically the trestle shown in Fig. 1 in a side view and makes the dimensions essential here according to the invention become clear. This is on the one hand to the inner vertical clearance C between Aufla g estange 16 and supporting strut 20 and the outer width B between the foot members 14. According to the invention, the inner vertical clearance C is greater than or at most equal to the outer width B between the foot members fourteenth These special dimensions make it possible, as shown in FIG. 3, to insert further trestles with their foot elements 14 into the hollow frame formed by the frame 12 such that the support struts 16 of the inserted trestles lie parallel to the foot elements 14 of the trestles into which they are inserted .

It is favorable if the support rod 16 has a length A which is greater than the inner clear height C, as is also the case according to FIG. 3. If this feature is met, the undersides 26 of the ends 28 of the support rods 16 of the inserted trestles projecting beyond the foot elements 14 rest against the support rod 16 of the trestle or the trestle stack which receives the other trestles. This results in a particularly stable cohesion of the pallet-like stack composed of the trestles according to the invention, as shown in FIG. 4 in a side view and in FIG. 5 in a perspective view recognizable from the other side. The possible formation of pallets with the trestles according to the invention is discussed in more detail below.

It is particularly favorable if the support rod not only has a greater length A than it corresponds to the clear height C, but if the support rod 16 protrudes at least by a measure beyond the foot element ends 14 (part 28 in FIG. 2), which is equal to the (vertical) thickness d corresponds to the support rod. It is even more favorable if this dimension constitutes at least the distance G that is required for pushing in a lifting or transport device such as forklift truck 30, see in particular FIGS. 5 and 7.

So that the insertion of, for example, the fork of a forklift truck is not hindered by support struts 20, if the trestles are alternately stacked up and down with the support rod 16 in one stacking direction, according to yet another embodiment of the fold-out trestle according to the invention, it is advantageous if this support strut 20 is attached to it at a distance f from the foot end 18 of the foot element 14 which corresponds at least to the distance G, preferably equal to this distance.

If the fold-out trestle is constructed in accordance with these features according to the invention, a pallet 40 can in turn be formed according to the invention, which consists of a first stack 44 of collapsed trestles 10 aligned with one another, the inner frame opening 32 (FIG. 2) of which forms a rectangular cavity into which a second Stack (44) of aligned, folded trestles is inserted, as can be seen in FIG. 4. The two stacks can consist of trestles of the same dimensions, but alternatively the one stack can be constructed from trestles with a first specific size and the second stack from trestles with a different specific size, although the dimensions of the two trestles must be coordinated with one another in this way that, for example, the width B of one type of trestle is again, as shown in FIG. 2, smaller or at most equal to the inner clear height C, but the height H can be very different for the two types of trestle. Alternatively, the width B of one type of trestle could be selected such that it essentially corresponds to the length of the support strut 20 (designated R in FIG. 2) or is slightly smaller, so that the trestles of the first group also fit into the trestles of the second Group can be inserted that the support rods 16 of both groups run parallel to each other. This last type of packaging is not the case cheaper than the former because the stacking properties of pallets constructed in this way are not so favorable.

  • A=75cm, H=75cm, B=57cm, R=47cm und C=58 cm.
How many trestles can be combined to form a pallet according to the invention naturally depends on the size of the frame opening 32 on the one hand and on the thickness e of the trestle folded, see FIG. 3. The following dimensions are mentioned as an example:
  • A = 75cm, H = 75cm, B = 57cm, R = 47cm and C = 58 cm.

The thickness of the folded trestle is slightly less than 4 cm. Then 18 blocks can be brought together to form a first stack 42, in the inner frame opening 32 of which a further 12 blocks can be inserted, so that a total of 30 blocks form a pallet 40 (in FIG. 4 the number of blocks shown is less because of the greater clarity of the drawing) held). Another example would be a trestle height H of 80 cm, a support rod length A of likewise 80 cm, an inner clear height C of 65 cm, a width B of 63 cm and an inner clear width R of 53 cm. Taking into account a somewhat larger trestle thickness E of a little more than 4 cm, there is again a total of 30 trestles which form a pallet 40. Of course, the numerical data given above are only examples; any other favorable number of trestles can be combined according to the invention into a pallet 40.

It has proven to be particularly favorable and also represents the method according to the invention if several (N, for example N = 18) trestles 10 alternately side by side with the support rod 16 upwards and downwards (see FIG. 5, stack 42) be arranged so that one (or more) support rods 16 come to rest next to one (or more) support struts 20 and all foot elements 14 are aligned with one another until a stack height or thickness 46 is reached which is essentially the length D of the foot elements 14 corresponds to further trestles, with a plurality (M, M, for example = 12) of further trestles, which form a stack 44 according to FIG. 5, being pushed into the cavity formed by the first trestle stack 42 until it is filled. The trestles of the two stacks 42, 44 are then fixed to one another by means of fixing devices such as tensioning straps 48, 50, which are shown in FIG. 6.

Arranging the trestles individually or in groups of two, three or more next to one another, as shown in FIG. 5, has the advantage that this results in a pallet which has a “cross-bracing” on both the underside and the top 52 forms, which is formed on the one hand by support rods 16, on the other hand by support struts 20. This cross strut 52 each has "baseboards" 54 which are formed by the projecting ends 28 of the support rods 16. If one waived the alternating arrangement of the trestles in the stack 42, there would only be a baseboard 28 at the bottom and a baseboard at the top, so that the pallet would be inclined. In certain circumstances, however, this need not be a disadvantage; on the contrary, the space freed up by the elimination of the one baseboard could still be used for further parts to be packaged.

The pallet shown in Fig. 5 and 6, each with two baseboards 54 thus forms a receiving space for inserting the fork of a forklift 30 in the direction of arrow 56. It can thus be seen that the pallet consisting only of trestles has the outer shape of a Europe palette and can be handled particularly easily.

B. 30 Böcken oder 4800 Böcke unterbringen, das sind etwa 30% bis 50% mehr als bei herkömmlicher Stapelungsweise.7, such a forklift 30 can lift this pallet 40 and place it on another pallet 40a in such a way that the individual ends 28, which form the baseboards 54 of the pallets 40, come to lie comb-like in one another or laterally offset, so that the total height of the two pallets 40, 40a standing one on the other is less than twice the length of the support rod 16, namely by essentially the length of an end 28 of the support rod which projects beyond the foot element 14. It can of course be favorable to protect the ends of the support rods 16 which point downward in the finished pallet 40 or 40a by means of a protective strip 5E, this protective strip 58 at the same time also preventing damage to palletized trestles which serve as a base for further pallets serve, as in Fig. 7, the protective strip 58a. If more than two pallets 40 are stacked on top of one another, the space savings increase accordingly. Thus, trestles with the dimensions 75 x 75 cm according to the example mentioned at the beginning in the form of three stacked pallets of 30 trestles each in height can be accommodated in a commercially available truck because the total height of these three pallets is not 3 x 75 = 2.25 m is, but only about 2.10 m. In a freight car of standardized dimensions, 160 pallets can be z. B. 30 bucks or 4800 bucks, that's about 30% to 50% more than with conventional stacking.

In order to give the pallets formed from trestles integral strength, these can be welded with shrink film or braced by means of straps, as it is for. B. Fig. 6 reveals. Retaining straps 48 can either span the trestles forming the stack 42 parallel to one another, or two crossing straps 50 are provided, which come to lie in the outer angle 60 formed by the support rod and foot element ends of the trestles of the stack 42. Of course, the two types of lacing can also be combined.

Vorsprünge 28,18 (Fig. 5) bilden außerdem einen Anschlagschutz: beim engen Zusammenpacken zahlreicher Paletten der dargestellten Art stoßen stets nur Stirnflächen von Holzlatten aneinander, die sehr robust sind, so daß Beschädigungen der Böcke auch bei rauher Verladung vermieden werden.5 and 6 can be tilted and "rolled" by hand around an axis that runs through the plane of the drawing, the tilting and supporting surfaces of the support rod ends 28 acting as feet 54 and of the foot element ends acting as feet 62 18 are formed. These feet 54, 62 (Fig. 6) or projections 28, 18 (Fig. 5) also form an impact protection: when numerous pallets of the type shown are packed tightly together, only end faces of wooden slats butt against each other, which are very robust, so that damage occurs the bucks can be avoided even with rough loading.

Another advantage is that the pallet can be set up directly in the sales room, the pallet with the rear surface in FIG. 5 being placed on the floor (simply tipping over onto this surface by hand is sufficient). The individual trestles of the stack 44 can then be pulled out of the “container” formed by the trestles of the stack 42 (possibly after removing tensioning straps and the like) and sold. When all the bucks of stack 44 have been sold, the bucks of the "container", stack 42, follow. No sales aids need to be cleared away.
