Description

The invention relates to a drawer made of plastic with at least one stiffening guide rail, in particular made of metal, which is inserted into a recess in a double wall region of the or each side wall of the drawer and is held essentially free of play in the direction of the side wall and the angled holding tabs for holding on has the opposite end walls of the drawer, especially for office furniture.

Due to the load and the resulting deformation forces, drawers for office furniture are subject to special requirements with regard to the strength and divisibility of the drawers.

This is particularly true for plastic drawers. For example, a value of 13 mm is prescribed for the maximum sag of the fully loaded 2xA4 extended drawer with 50 up - a requirement that is very difficult to meet with plastic constructions.

Drawers made of plastic are already known, but despite structural precautions such as double-wall constructions (DE-A-19 02 905) or the use of reinforcing rails made of metal (DE-U-71 13 565, DE-A-22 02 312, 2610288, CH -A-537 174) or a combination of these two measures (DE-A-24 02 554, Fig. 3, 4) do not meet the requirements.

In the case of a drawer of the type mentioned last and described at the outset, the retaining tabs are fastened to the end walls by means of screws (DE-A-24 02 554). The rail is supported in the double wall area only by spaced ribs which protrude from both wall parts and leave gaps between them, the entirety of which form the "recess" for receiving the rail.

The object of the invention is to provide a drawer made of plastic with a stiffening guide rail, which meets all strength requirements, is cheap to manufacture, allows easy mounting of the rail on the drawer without the aid of fasteners, such as screws, and various types (simple pull-out , Double extension) of guides can be adjusted.

To solve this problem, it is provided according to the invention in a drawer of the type mentioned at the outset that the retaining tabs have hooks at their free ends which engage behind ribs arranged on the drawer end walls, and that the rail in the inserted state on at least one or each side wall by means of at least one a resilient locking lug on one part cooperates with a recess on the other part to hold it vertically. Thus, the rail according to the invention by means of three-point fastening, namely by means of the two side hooks, the recess and the latching lug, is mounted on the drawer without any additional fastening means and is merely anchored and anchored in all directions.

The connection is inseparable unless access to the latching lugs from the outside is provided, via which these can be disengaged from the recesses by hand or by means of a tool, so that the rail can be pulled out of the recess.

The drawer meets all strength requirements in practice and is particularly characterized by excellent torsional rigidity. It is advantageously provided that the recess is provided in a vertical section of the rail, which is pushed from below over the laterally resilient locking lug when the rail is mounted on the drawer, the locking lug being sprung into the recess with an approximately horizontal extension Heel rests at the top of the recess.

For the mounting of the rail on the drawer in the vertical direction, it is advantageous if the or each side wall has two locking lugs at a distance from one another and each rail has two recesses for these locking lugs.

In order to enable the rail to be applied laterally to the side wall and thus to guide it when the rail is inserted before it penetrates into the recess, it is advantageously provided that the ribs on the drawer end walls extend downward from their upper edge only over part of their length extend and leave space below to place the rail on the side wall, and that the hooks are arranged in a lower region of the rail.

The rail can have a Z-shaped horizontal bend in the upper area, which bears against a crosspiece of the side wall below and absorbs the vertical load from the drawer.

In a further embodiment of the drawer, in which guide ribs are provided for the rail in the double wall area, it is advantageously provided that the guide ribs extend from one wall of the double wall area and form the recess for the rail between their apexes and the other wall. As a result, the rail in the double wall area is supported continuously over the entire length of the other wall. This other wall is expediently an outer wall part of the double wall area, with the guide ribs then from the inside wall part of the double wall area. The rail can also rest against a single-walled region of the side wall that continues downward on this inner wall part, so that the rail therefore not only has surface contact with the corresponding drawer walls or the crossbar, but also underneath and via said bend. This results in a favorable flow of force without local overloading between the rail and the drawer and a rattle-free mounting of the rail on the drawer, especially if the rail is still inserted into the recess when the plastic is being made during the manufacture of the drawer. This results in an intimate bond between the rail and drawer after cooling.

As is known per se, the wall parts of the double wall area can be held together by bridge webs which run parallel to the guide ribs and penetrate slots in the upper section of the rail in their assembled state. As is also known, plug-in slots can be provided between the guide webs or bridge webs for hanging in suspension parts in the drawer.

The plastic drawer shown in the figures has side walls 1, 2, a front and a rear end wall 3, 4 and a bottom 5. Each side wall 1, 2 has a single-walled lower region 6 which merges into an inner wall part 7 of an upper double wall region. The inner wall part 7 and the single-walled side wall part 6 are separated by a cross bar 8 projecting outwards. Ribs 9, 10 protrude from this crosspiece 8 in a row at equal intervals. The ribs 9 form guide ribs which a lateral distance zueinem Außenwandteii 1-1 blank of D op p eiwand b er-eiches-, for about every fifth rib is formed as a bridge web 10 which establishes a connection between the inner wall part 7 and the outer wall portion 11 . Between the guide ribs 9 and the bridge webs 10, plug slots 12 are arranged in each case in the outer wall part 11 for receiving and holding hanging parts, not shown. The outer wall part 11 is bent outwards and downwards to form a collar 13 with a U-shaped cross section. This collar thus forms an outer rounding of the side walls for further stiffening and for aesthetic reasons.

Near the ends of the side wall 1, 2, a detent 14 protruding into the double wall area is formed on the inner wall part 7. This locking lug 14 tapers downwards and has a shoulder 15 at the top (FIGS. 1, 5). It is used to hold a metal rail 30 in the vertical direction, as will be described in more detail below.

There is also a single-walled lower region 16 on the end walls 3, 4, which continues into an inner wall part 17 of a double wall region. The outer wall part 18 of this double wall area is connected to the inner wall part 17 in the same way as the crest 13 via bridge webs (not shown). Furthermore, there are guide ribs 19 which protrude from a transverse web 20 separating the area 16 from the inner wall part 17 and leave a distance from the outer wall part 18. Together with plug-in slots 21, the guide ribs 19 enable hanging parts to be hooked in.

In the area near the corner 22 of the drawer, where the side wall 1 meets the end wall 4, a rib 23 projects inwards from the outer wall part 18. This rib 23 has a lower, stepped region 24, which leaves a distance from the region 16, and an upper region 25, which connects the outer wall part 18 to the inner wall part 17. The rib 23 only starts a little above the bottom 5 on the inside of the outer wall part 18.

The rail 30, which is shown in perspective in FIG. 1 and in different cross sections in FIGS. 3 to 6, has an upper section 31. This upper section is divided by slots 32. A rectangular recess 33 is provided at each of the two ends. Each rectangular recess has dimensions that allow the nose to snap into place with its shoulder 15 at the upper edge 34 of the recess 33.

At its free ends, the rail has an angled retaining tab 35, the free end of which is bent toward a hook 36 in the direction parallel to the main longitudinal extent of the rail. The distance between the lower region of the rib 23 and the region 16 is dimensioned such that the retaining tabs 35 fit through and can lie behind the rib 23 with the hooks 36. The holding tabs 35 are angled from a lower section 37 of the rail. This lower region 37 is connected to the upper region 31 via an angled portion 38, which serves to accommodate the drawer load and runs horizontally.

At the lower end of section 37, the rail 30 is again provided with a bend 39 for stiffening. The rail, which is preferably formed from sheet steel, is initially placed with its lower section 37 on the lower side wall part 6 for mounting on the drawer, so that the upper end of the holding tab 35 with hook 35 is still below the rib 23. At this height, the rail 30 can be placed against the side wall without hindrance. Then the rail is pushed vertically upwards as seen in the drawings. The hook 36 first comes into a position in which it engages behind the lower section 24 of the rib 23 (FIG. 4). Then the upper section 31 moves into the recess formed between the ribs 9 and the outer wall part 11, the width of which is designated by a in FIG. 6 and corresponds approximately to the rail width. The recess is thus delimited on the outside by the continuous wall 11, while on the inside it is delimited by the apexes of the guide ribs 9.

The upper section 31 of the rail travels with its end regions containing the recesses 34 over the locking lugs 14 and presses them back against the inner wall part 7 in FIG. 5 to the right until the locking lugs 14 with their shoulder 15 behind the upper edges 34 Snap recesses 33 into place. The rail 30 is then held by the locking lugs 14 in the vertical direction on the drawer. The rail is held against pulling off in the lateral direction (to the left in FIGS. 3 to 6) by the interaction of the hooks 36 and the ribs 23. 3 and 5 in particular that the rail rests with its upper section 31 on the outer wall part 11 and with its lower section 37 on the side wall part 6. In order to always ensure a tight fit in all surface areas, which is preferred with regard to the transmission of force between the drawer and the rail to form a unit in these two parts, the rail can be mounted as described while the plastic drawer is still warm.

The rail can be released if the locking lug 14 can be springed out of the recess 33. This can be accomplished by means of a tool, for example a screwdriver, which is inserted into the slot 27 visible in FIGS. 2 and 5 for pushing back the locking lug 14. The rail 30 can then be pulled out of the drawer.

Obviously, the bend 38 of the rail serves to transfer the load exerted by the drawer via the crosspiece 8 to the rail and from there to a guide part, not shown, in the piece of furniture in which the drawer is installed.
