Definitions

  • the invention relates to a closure cap for a container, which is provided with a guarantee band and is produced in one piece with the guarantee band from thermoplastic material by injection molding, the guarantee band being connected to the lower edge of the closure cap via a plurality of predetermined breaking connecting webs, and for this purpose is intended to at least partially surround the neck of the container and which, after the closure cap has been applied to the neck of the container, can be positively molded and brought into engagement with it by hot deformation.
  • Sealing caps for containers, in particular for bottles, produced in the injection molding process are known and customary in a wide variety of embodiments.
  • FR-A-2 395 909 by the applicant has already disclosed a closure cap of the type mentioned at the outset, in which the guarantee band can be deformed without mechanical aids.
  • the guarantee band has a constant, approximately wedge-shaped cross-section over its entire circumference.
  • the wedge tip of the guarantee band is designed as a predetermined breaking line. Irregularities in the guarantee band caused by the manufacturing process can possibly have an adverse effect on the shrinking process if no mechanical pressing tools are used.
  • the invention has for its object to avoid the disadvantages of the known, in particular to create a cap of the type mentioned, the guarantee tape is already plasticized when low heat output is applied, without tearing and that can be produced with forms that fill the Allow shape from the cap and over the predetermined breaking connecting webs in the guarantee tape.
  • the wall thickness of the guarantee band has a reinforcement in the area between two predetermined breaking connecting webs and that the individual reinforcements are interrupted by sections of smaller wall thickness, the lowest wall thickness in each case being in the area of a predetermined breaking connecting web.
  • this reinforcement i. H. So material thickening, various surprising effects are achieved.
  • it is ensured that during the injection molding process, when the liquefied thermoplastic is injected from the connecting webs into the guarantee band section, the two material flows which are moving towards each other come into contact with one another over a larger area and the guarantee band is thereby solidified in this area.
  • the invention thus creates both a guarantee band which can be plasticized faster and with less thermal energy in the area between the reinforcements, and a guarantee band which is more resistant to overheating in a wide range than known guarantee bands.
  • Sealing caps with a guarantee band have already become known, in which cross-sectional changes are provided on the guarantee band.
  • DE-A-2 338 069 shows a sealing cap with a guarantee band which has teeth on the inside. This toothing engages in an external toothing on the container mouth, so that when the screw cap is unscrewed, the guarantee band remains at the container mouth and the predetermined breaking webs tear.
  • This guarantee band therefore does not have to be formed on the neck of the container by hot forming, since it is fixed on the container mouth by the teeth.
  • the toothing also improves the manufacturing process by injection molding, since the individual teeth are not arranged in a specific relationship to the individual predetermined breaking connecting webs. As a result, problems can arise during the injection molding process if the liquefied thermoplastic meets at unfavorable points in the guarantee strip section.
  • the invention can be implemented particularly advantageously if the reinforcement is provided on the inside of the guarantee band and has an approximately tendon-like course. This allows particularly simple manufacture using the injection molding process.
  • Bottle closures which are placed in fast-running systems and hot-formed with large temperature tolerances, have shown that the best results can be achieved both functionally and optically if the reinforcement is around 10% to 15% of the wall thickness of the guarantee band.
  • a guarantee tape is used which has a wall thickness of approximately 0.35 to 0.45 mm and in which the reinforcement is approximately 0.03 to 0.07 mm.
  • a closure cap 1 is placed on a container neck 2 and is exposed to the flow of a hot air nozzle 3 arranged on the side.
  • the container neck 2 is rotated such that the entire circumference of the closure cap 1 is acted upon by the hot air nozzle 3 in the plane of the guarantee band 4.
  • the guarantee band 4 is plasticized and wraps around an annular bead 5 on the container neck 2.
  • the container neck 2 is closed in a theft-proof manner by the closure cap 1.
  • the guarantee band 4 lies in a form-fitting manner around the container neck 2 and the closure cap 1 can only be removed from the container neck 2 by tearing the predetermined breaking connecting webs 6.
  • Fig. 2 shows a torn guarantee tape 4, in which the connecting webs 6 are torn in the manner described when removing the container neck 2.
  • the multiplicity of connecting webs 6 allows, when the closure cap 1 is sprayed, a mold arrangement which, as shown by arrows in FIG. 3, is filled from the base of the cap.
  • the liquid thermoplastic material penetrates through the connecting webs 6 into the area of the guarantee band, the individual partial flows x and y, which arise behind the connecting webs 6, meet approximately in the middle between two connecting webs 6.
  • the plastic material In the area of the dividing line 7, in which two partial flows x and y meet, the plastic material requires a greater thickness in order to be mechanically firmly connected in the same way as in the remaining area of the guarantee tape 4, which has a homogeneous and laminar material structure.
  • a material reinforcement 8 is therefore provided in this area, as illustrated in FIGS. 4 to 6.
  • FIGS. 4 to 6 In the plan view (FIG. 4) it is clearly recognizable as a tendon-like interruption of the inner wall of the tamper-evident band 4, which is circular in itself. This thickening can be achieved particularly simply because the inner wall of the tamper-evident band 4 in the remaining area runs slightly conically outwards and the reinforcement means a simple transition of the inner wall to a cylindrical course.
  • the material reinforcement can also be achieved in a different way, but this type of training has been justified for manufacturing reasons and in view proven particularly easy to demold the cap 1 from an injection molding tool.
  • the wall thickness of the guarantee tape 4 is 0.4 mm at the widest point.
  • the reinforcement 8 is 0.05 mm at the thickest point, so that the total wall thickness in the area of the reinforcement 8 increases to 0.45 mm.
  • the guarantee strip 4 is softened particularly strongly in the sections between the connecting webs 6 and the material reinforcements 8, wherein a shrinking process of the entire guarantee strip 4 can be observed before shrinking occurs in the region of the reinforcement 8.
  • the shrinking i.e. H. So the reduction in diameter of the guarantee band is achieved by combined heat and pressure from hot air flowing out of the nozzle 3. Even a segment-like softening of the guarantee band 4 in the sections between the reinforcements 8 therefore ensures a secure and theft-proof seating of the closure cap 1 on the container neck 2.
