Definitions
- the invention relates to an electric watch, in particular a quartz watch, with a movement housing which receives the time-giving and time-indicating means, on the back of which there are actuators for the time and for a wake-up device, and a holder into which the movement housing in various relative positions for holding can be used.
- the movement housing sits in a holder which consists of two parts which can be pivoted relative to one another about a common axis.
- the movement housing is held in the holder by the lens that can be snapped into the holder.
- the inclination of the dial to the installation surface can be changed and, on the other hand, after dismantling the lens in the holder, the watch can be rotated by 90 degrees in the dial plane, which can change the overall aesthetic impression of the watch.
- this clock allows a larger change of position of the dial in relation to the footprint, the possibilities of changing the position are still quite limited.
- parts of the clock must be disassembled and then these parts must be reassembled, which leads to rather cumbersome handling.
- a watch is also known (DE-GM 74 39 428), in which the rear part of the movement housing is spherical and rests in a holder with a dome-shaped receptacle.
- the bracket and the movement housing are connected to each other by means of a screw which passes through an elongated hole in the receptacle and ends in a corresponding threaded hole in the housing. After loosening the screw, the movement housing can be pivoted in the bracket in one plane by approximately 45 degrees and held in the respective position by tightening the screw.
- Such a watch has the disadvantage that a change in position of the movement housing in the holder is not possible without the aid of a tool.
- the change in position of the movement housing in the holder is limited to the course of the elongated hole and thus to a single plane of movement.
- Both known clocks also have the disadvantage that there are no means for attaching them to an object, such as a wall, a bookcase, a room divider or other furnishings, which greatly reduces the practical value of the known clocks on the holder.
- the measures required to implement this task should cause the lowest possible costs and lead to a simple, low-cost construction of the work housing and bracket.
- the movement case and the holder should also be designed so that watches can be produced with a special aesthetic overall impression.
- the work housing with the viewing window covering the time-indicating means forms a self-contained structural unit with a polygonal or circular circumference
- the holder in the form of a housing which at least surrounds the back of the work housing and has an inner circumference corresponding to the work housing circumference is formed, in which the Lerk housing can be inserted in a detachable manner, that the housing is designed on its outer periphery for connection to fastening means and that in the housing there are stored actuating means that are accessible from the outside and that, in the case of the work housing inserted in the housing, are in any relative position of the two with the actuators the alarm device is in operative connection.
- the placement of only two setting options - start setting button and setting wheel for the alarm device - which can even be reduced to just one setting option - start-stop setting button - if a wake-up time setting is not required without removing the movement housing, also allows the design to be able to make the housing within wide limits solely from an aesthetic point of view.
- Another particular advantage of the invention is that the clock can also be used without a housing, that is to say it can be removed from the stationary housing and taken to another room.
- the movement case with the clockwork can then be manufactured cheaply in large quantities, while the relatively cheap cases are produced in the corresponding smaller quantities, quite apart from the fact that the cost of warehousing can be considerably reduced by such a division of the movement case and housing.
- a pinion sits on the end of the actuating shaft protruding from the movement housing for setting the wake-up time, which meshes with an internal ring gear of a gear wheel mounted concentrically to the movement housing receptacle, the external toothing of which is in operative connection with an adjusting wheel protruding from the housing contour.
- a so-called sun wheel ensures that the drive in any angular position of the factory housing to the housing is fully functional.
- the housing To actuate the start-stop switch of the alarm device, it is most expedient in the housing to have an adjusting button which can be moved axially from a first position to a second position and which is connected via a wedge gear to the start-stop pin of the alarm device protruding from the movement housing.
- the gearwheel present in the housing for setting the wake-up time is mounted axially displaceably against the force of a spring and forms the part of the wedge gear which is connected to the start-stop pin of the wake-up device.
- the sun gear takes over two functions, namely the function of a gear wheel between the adjusting wheel protruding from the housing contour and the pinion seated on the wake-up time setting shaft and the other part of the wedge gear via which the start-stop pin Wake-up device can be actuated. Since the entire sun gear is always axially moved against or away from the start-stop pin when the adjusting knob protruding from the housing is actuated, this embodiment also ensures that the start-stop is in every angular position of the movement housing relative to the housing -Pin can be operated using the control knob via the sun gear.
- the gear wheel has an end face which is at least partially conical in cross-section and which cooperates with the free end of the adjusting knob in a wedge gear manner. It is also possible in and of itself to design the free end of the adjusting knob in the form of a wedge and to let it act against the keyless gear, but the wedge then works with the toothed circumference of the Gear together, which leads to increased wear of both parts.
- the gear wheel In view of the simplest and most economical construction of the housing, it has proven to be expedient to mount the gear wheel on its outer circumference in the housing and not on a shaft, as is usually the case with gear wheels. Such a mounting of the sun gear on its outer circumference also permits particularly simple fastening of the work housing in the housing, as will be explained below.
- the storage can advantageously take place in that the gear wheel has a collar which projects radially beyond the external toothing and is rotatably mounted between two housing parts.
- the sun gear is mounted by means of three pinions which are offset by 120 degrees and are arranged in a fixed manner in the housing, such a bearing has considerable advantages in terms of production technology.
- the back of the movement housing has a central tubular extension, which is provided in an inner collar at the end and projects through a central recess in the gearwheel.
- a locking element which can be moved against the force of a return spring and which projects with a hook into the tubular extension and engages behind the inner collar.
- the locking element is particularly advantageously coaxial stored in the control knob and ends below the occupancy stroke of the control knob, such that the locking element remains unactuated when the control knob is actuated.
- pressing down the locking element for example by means of a ballpoint pen inserted into the guide channel for the locking element in the adjusting knob, the locking can be released and the movement housing can be removed from the housing for the purpose of changing the battery or setting the time.
- the locking element there is also the possibility of arranging the locking element elsewhere in the housing, but this has the disadvantage that the housing would have to be formed with a further opening for an actuating element, which has an adverse effect on the overall aesthetic impression of the watch would.
- the return spring can be designed as a spring strut that protrudes obliquely from the locking element and is supported on a housing projection.
- one side of the housing is designed as a foot with an opening into which a clamping device can be detachably detached and rotated relative to the housing.
- clamping devices can be used per se for the present purposes.
- clamping devices with two resilient clamping jaws running approximately axially parallel to one another, as well as clamping devices which have two spring-loaded clamping jaws which can be rotated about a common axis, each of which merges into a handle at one end.
- a clamping device which consists of a fixed clamping plate and a movable clamping body, which is mounted on a guide attached to the clamping plate so as to be longitudinally displaceable and secured against rotation, and which has a thread on its outer circumference that bears a corresponding thread of a rotating body cooperates, which is rotatably mounted on the guide.
- the guide advantageously consists of a tubular part which has a wall with two mutually parallel slots for guiding the movable clamping body and a rail which is axially parallel to the guideway and engages in a recess in the clamping body for securing the clamping body against rotation and means for supporting the rotating body.
- the tubular part will have a semicircular cross section, which with respect to its dimensions are adapted to those of the foot surface. This results in a special aesthetic effect of the clock provided with the clamping device.
- a sleeve for receiving a threaded bolt is provided on the inner wall of the tubular part, the head of which is designed for latching, releasable insertion into the opening in the housing foot and on the free end of which a shaft nut can be screwed into contact with the sleeve end, which can be rotated Storage of the rotating body is used.
- Such an embodiment has the advantage that it is constructed with few components and, as a result, can be produced at low cost.
- the watch contains a movement case 1, which the quartz movement takes and is closed on its side facing the viewer with a viewing window 2. Behind the lens 2 and in front of the dial 3, the second hand 4, the minute hand 5, the hour hand 6 and the wake-up pointer 7 move. On the side facing away from the viewer there is a compartment 8 for a battery, not shown. Furthermore, two contact lugs for the battery are provided on the movement housing 1, of which only the contact lug 9 is visible.
- the viewing pane 2 is held by means of some latching fingers 10, which are evenly distributed over the work housing circumference and which engage in corresponding recesses 11 in the viewing pane 2.
- the control shaft 13 for the wake-up time and the start-stop pin 14 of the wake-up device protrude from the rear wall of the work housing 1, which, in its pressed-in position, switches the wake-up device ineffective. In its position protruding from the housing 1, the alarm device is activated.
- a pinion 15 is seated, via which the actuating shaft 13 is in engagement with the clock wheel (not shown).
- a wrap spring 16 acting as a clamping lock is provided on the shaft 13.
- the bracket 21 is designed in the form of a housing, which comprises a housing hood 22 and a bottom part 23. Both parts 22 and 23 are injection molded plastic parts.
- the base part 23 carries two hollow pillars 25, which have a hole 24 at their ends, while the housing hood 22 has two corresponding support pillars, not shown, which come into contact with the support pillars 25 after the base part 23 has been inserted into the housing hood 2.
- these support pillars of the housing hood 22 there are in each case a threaded hole into which a screw projecting through the hole 24 can be screwed, as a result of which the housing hood 22 and the base part 23 are connected to one another.
- gear 26 which is mounted on the tubular extension 17.
- the gear 26 is provided with an internal toothing 27, in which a pinion 28 engages, which sits on the actuating shaft 13 of the alarm device.
- the gearwheel 26 On its outer circumference, the gearwheel 26 also has an external toothing 29 which meshes with a gearwheel 3D mounted in the housing.
- a setting wheel 31 is molded onto this gear wheel 30 and projects with part of its circumference through a slot 32 in the housing hood 22.
- slot 32 there are two further slots 33 which serve as sound outlet openings for the buzzer of the alarm device.
- the gearwheel 26 is mounted in the housing 21 via a collar 37 projecting radially over the toothing 29 and via the integrally formed connecting piece 35.
- This storage comes into play when the factory housing 1 is removed from the housing 21, the tubular extension 17, on oem the gear 26 normally ge is stored, is no longer available for storage.
- the storage takes place by means of two lower supports 35 and 36, both of which are molded onto the base part 23, and by means of an upper support 37, which is molded onto the housing hood 22.
- stops 38 or 39 or 40 or 41 or 42 which act on the collar 34 and which limit the axial movement of the gear 26.
- the gearwheel 26 On its end face facing the movement housing 1, the gearwheel 26 is provided with a working surface 53 which interacts with the start-stop pin of the alarm device.
- the gear wheel 26 For the axial displacement of the gear wheel 26 against the force of the spring 44 for the purpose of actuating the start-stop pin of the alarm device, the gear wheel 26 is provided with a conical end face 45 which interacts with an adjusting knob 46 which is axially displaceably mounted in the housing cover 22.
- the adjusting button 46 In the depressed position of the adjusting button 46 shown, its operating shoulder 47 is located on the upper edge of the conical part 45 of the gearwheel, as a result of which it is pushed in the direction of the movement housing and, via the working surface 43, the start-stop pin 14 of the alarm device in the sense of a Switching off the alarm device actuated.
- the active shoulder 47 is in a raised position outside the area of the conical part 45 of the gearwheel 26.
- the gearwheel 26 is located due to the restoring force of the spring 44 in a position removed from the movement housing, so that the start-stop pin 14 dcr alarm device can reach its effective switching position due to the switching spring acting on it, not shown.
- the adjusting knob 46 is provided with an insert 48 with a heart-shaped groove 49, in which a control spring 50 engages.
- This known heart curve control leads in conjunction with the compression spring 51 to the fact that the adjusting button 46 remains in its depressed position when depressed and is shifted when depressed again from the depressed position into a position protruding from the housing contour.
- the adjusting knob 46 there is a guide channel 52 for a bolt-shaped extension 53 of the locking element 20.
- the locking element 20 is further guided in a hole 54 in the base part 23.
- a spring strut 55 molded onto the plastic element serves to return the locking element 20 to its drawn rest position.
- the spring 54 overshadows two functions, namely that it serves to eject the work housing 1 from the housing 21 and, on the other hand, when the work housing 1 is inserted into the housing 21, to return the gearwheel 26 to its rest position, in which the alarm device is activated.
- the spring 44 can also perform a third function. She'll be named Lich formed as a wrap spring, the wrap spring 16 can be saved and the wrap action of the spring 44 then prevents the transmission chain consisting of the wheels 15, 2 8, 26 and 30 from being operated in a circumferential direction in which the clock wheel is damaged could.
- the looping effect can be achieved in a simple manner in that both the collar 57 on the movement housing 1 and the collar 58 on the gearwheel 26 are each provided in the circumferential direction with a shoulder on which the spring end can be supported.
- a recess 59 which merges into a slot 60 into which a clamping device 61 can be detachably inserted in a latching manner.
- the clamping device consists of a guide 62 with a semicircular cross-section, on the one straight wall 63 of which a sleeve 64 is formed over the entire length.
- the guide 62 merges into a fixed clamping plate 65, in such a way that the upper side of the clamping plate 65 is flush with an elevation 66 on the end face of the guide 62.
- the clamping plate 65 and the elevation 66 together form a circular surface behind the edge of which two catch springs 67 and 68 can engage, which are molded into the base part 23.
- a thin metal plate 69 is placed thereon, which is widened in the area of the clamping plate and to which and the clamping plate a rubber layer 70 is applied.
- the movable clamping body 71 has a thread 72 on its outer circumference, which interacts with a corresponding thread 73 of a rotating body 74. This rotating body is rotatably supported in the guide 62. Another bearing position forms a shaft nut 75 which can be screwed onto a threaded bolt 76. The other end of the threaded bolt 76 carries a bushing 77 with a collar 78 with which the clamping device 61 is held in the slot 60.
- the clamping body 71 is divided into two partial bodies 79 and 80, which are connected to one another via two spaced-apart webs 81, each web projecting through a slot 82 and 83 in the Uand 63 of the guide 62.

Description
The invention relates to an electric watch, in particular a quartz watch, with a movement housing which receives the time-giving and time-indicating means, on the back of which there are actuators for the time and for a wake-up device, and a holder into which the movement housing in various relative positions for holding can be used.
In a known watch of this type (DE-05 25 31 747), the movement housing sits in a holder which consists of two parts which can be pivoted relative to one another about a common axis. The movement housing is held in the holder by the lens that can be snapped into the holder. With such a watch, on the one hand the inclination of the dial to the installation surface can be changed and, on the other hand, after dismantling the lens in the holder, the watch can be rotated by 90 degrees in the dial plane, which can change the overall aesthetic impression of the watch. Although this clock allows a larger change of position of the dial in relation to the footprint, the possibilities of changing the position are still quite limited. Also, with certain changes in the position of the dial relative to the bracket, parts of the clock must be disassembled and then these parts must be reassembled, which leads to rather cumbersome handling.
A watch is also known (DE-GM 74 39 428), in which the rear part of the movement housing is spherical and rests in a holder with a dome-shaped receptacle. The bracket and the movement housing are connected to each other by means of a screw which passes through an elongated hole in the receptacle and ends in a corresponding threaded hole in the housing. After loosening the screw, the movement housing can be pivoted in the bracket in one plane by approximately 45 degrees and held in the respective position by tightening the screw. Such a watch has the disadvantage that a change in position of the movement housing in the holder is not possible without the aid of a tool. In addition, the change in position of the movement housing in the holder is limited to the course of the elongated hole and thus to a single plane of movement.
Both known clocks also have the disadvantage that there are no means for attaching them to an object, such as a wall, a bookcase, a room divider or other furnishings, which greatly reduces the practical value of the known clocks on the holder.
These disadvantages are to be eliminated by the invention. It is therefore an object of the invention to provide a watch in which the holder and the movement housing of the watch can be brought into a wide variety of relative positions to one another, such that the movement housing of the watch can be brought into an easily readable position of use in the most varied positions of the holder. In addition, the measures required to implement this task should cause the lowest possible costs and lead to a simple, low-cost construction of the work housing and bracket. The movement case and the holder should also be designed so that watches can be produced with a special aesthetic overall impression.
This object is achieved according to the invention that the work housing with the viewing window covering the time-indicating means forms a self-contained structural unit with a polygonal or circular circumference, that the holder in the form of a housing which at least surrounds the back of the work housing and has an inner circumference corresponding to the work housing circumference is formed, in which the Lerk housing can be inserted in a detachable manner, that the housing is designed on its outer periphery for connection to fastening means and that in the housing there are stored actuating means that are accessible from the outside and that, in the case of the work housing inserted in the housing, are in any relative position of the two with the actuators the alarm device is in operative connection.
These measures ensure that the dial is rotated through 360 degrees with respect to the housing, so that the dial can be brought into an easily readable position of use in every housing position. The complete covering of the back of the movement case with its various actuators by the case also allows the watch to be mounted in a wide variety of positions; an impairment of the overall aesthetic effect due to the usually unattractive rear of the work case with its Actuators do not occur in the clock according to the invention, in contrast to the known clocks. The placement of only two setting options - start setting button and setting wheel for the alarm device - which can even be reduced to just one setting option - start-stop setting button - if a wake-up time setting is not required without removing the movement housing, also allows the design to be able to make the housing within wide limits solely from an aesthetic point of view. This represents a particular advantage of the invention. Another particular advantage of the invention is that the clock can also be used without a housing, that is to say it can be removed from the stationary housing and taken to another room. There is also the option of producing different housing designs for a movement housing shape, which can be combined with the movement housing as required by the buyer. In this way, a large number of watch types can be realized with an extremely low capital investment. The movement case with the clockwork can then be manufactured cheaply in large quantities, while the relatively cheap cases are produced in the corresponding smaller quantities, quite apart from the fact that the cost of warehousing can be considerably reduced by such a division of the movement case and housing.
According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, a pinion sits on the end of the actuating shaft protruding from the movement housing for setting the wake-up time, which meshes with an internal ring gear of a gear wheel mounted concentrically to the movement housing receptacle, the external toothing of which is in operative connection with an adjusting wheel protruding from the housing contour. In such a drive with a so-called sun wheel ensures that the drive in any angular position of the factory housing to the housing is fully functional.
To actuate the start-stop switch of the alarm device, it is most expedient in the housing to have an adjusting button which can be moved axially from a first position to a second position and which is connected via a wedge gear to the start-stop pin of the alarm device protruding from the movement housing. According to a particularly advantageous embodiment, the gearwheel present in the housing for setting the wake-up time is mounted axially displaceably against the force of a spring and forms the part of the wedge gear which is connected to the start-stop pin of the wake-up device. In this embodiment, the sun gear takes over two functions, namely the function of a gear wheel between the adjusting wheel protruding from the housing contour and the pinion seated on the wake-up time setting shaft and the other part of the wedge gear via which the start-stop pin Wake-up device can be actuated. Since the entire sun gear is always axially moved against or away from the start-stop pin when the adjusting knob protruding from the housing is actuated, this embodiment also ensures that the start-stop is in every angular position of the movement housing relative to the housing -Pin can be operated using the control knob via the sun gear.
The realization of the wedge gear most conveniently takes place in that the gear wheel has an end face which is at least partially conical in cross-section and which cooperates with the free end of the adjusting knob in a wedge gear manner. It is also possible in and of itself to design the free end of the adjusting knob in the form of a wedge and to let it act against the keyless gear, but the wedge then works with the toothed circumference of the Gear together, which leads to increased wear of both parts.
In view of the simplest and most economical construction of the housing, it has proven to be expedient to mount the gear wheel on its outer circumference in the housing and not on a shaft, as is usually the case with gear wheels. Such a mounting of the sun gear on its outer circumference also permits particularly simple fastening of the work housing in the housing, as will be explained below. The storage can advantageously take place in that the gear wheel has a collar which projects radially beyond the external toothing and is rotatably mounted between two housing parts. Compared to an embodiment which is also possible, in which the sun gear is mounted by means of three pinions which are offset by 120 degrees and are arranged in a fixed manner in the housing, such a bearing has considerable advantages in terms of production technology.
According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the back of the movement housing has a central tubular extension, which is provided in an inner collar at the end and projects through a central recess in the gearwheel. In the housing there is a locking element which can be moved against the force of a return spring and which projects with a hook into the tubular extension and engages behind the inner collar. This definition of the movement housing in the housing by means of a central tubular extension on the movement housing has the advantage that the outer dimension of the housing, at least in the dial plane, only has to be slightly larger than the corresponding outer dimension of the movement housing.
The locking element is particularly advantageously coaxial stored in the control knob and ends below the occupancy stroke of the control knob, such that the locking element remains unactuated when the control knob is actuated. By pressing down the locking element, for example by means of a ballpoint pen inserted into the guide channel for the locking element in the adjusting knob, the locking can be released and the movement housing can be removed from the housing for the purpose of changing the battery or setting the time. In itself, there is also the possibility of arranging the locking element elsewhere in the housing, but this has the disadvantage that the housing would have to be formed with a further opening for an actuating element, which has an adverse effect on the overall aesthetic impression of the watch would.
For manufacturing reasons, it has proven to be advantageous to form the return spring on the locking element. The return spring can be designed as a spring strut that protrudes obliquely from the locking element and is supported on a housing projection.
In order to prevent unintentional rotation of the same in the case of a circular movement housing, it is advisable to provide notches or lugs on the outer circumference of the movement housing and on the inner circumference of the housing, which interlock when the movement housing is inserted in the housing and thus form an anti-rotation device.
According to a further idea of the invention, one side of the housing is designed as a foot with an opening into which a clamping device can be detachably detached and rotated relative to the housing. This allows the watch's utility value to be increased considerably, as there is one Such bracket, the ability to use the clock not only in connection with flat stands, but also in connection with any edges, frames, rods, posts and other objects to which the bracket and thus the clock can be clipped. This also improves the readability of the watch, since the housing can now be aligned even better with the viewer than is the case with only openings in the housing for fastening means, such as screws and hooks.
A wide variety of clamping devices can be used per se for the present purposes. Thus, there is the possibility of using clamping devices with two resilient clamping jaws running approximately axially parallel to one another, as well as clamping devices which have two spring-loaded clamping jaws which can be rotated about a common axis, each of which merges into a handle at one end. Particularly for aesthetic reasons, however, the use of a clamping device is recommended, which consists of a fixed clamping plate and a movable clamping body, which is mounted on a guide attached to the clamping plate so as to be longitudinally displaceable and secured against rotation, and which has a thread on its outer circumference that bears a corresponding thread of a rotating body cooperates, which is rotatably mounted on the guide. The guide advantageously consists of a tubular part which has a wall with two mutually parallel slots for guiding the movable clamping body and a rail which is axially parallel to the guideway and engages in a recess in the clamping body for securing the clamping body against rotation and means for supporting the rotating body. In the case of a housing with a semicircular or fully circular foot surface, the tubular part will have a semicircular cross section, which with respect to its dimensions are adapted to those of the foot surface. This results in a special aesthetic effect of the clock provided with the clamping device.
In a preferred embodiment, a sleeve for receiving a threaded bolt is provided on the inner wall of the tubular part, the head of which is designed for latching, releasable insertion into the opening in the housing foot and on the free end of which a shaft nut can be screwed into contact with the sleeve end, which can be rotated Storage of the rotating body is used. Such an embodiment has the advantage that it is constructed with few components and, as a result, can be produced at low cost.

On the back of the movement housing 1 there is an adjusting wheel 12 for setting the time of the clock. The
In the
The
On its end face facing the movement housing 1, the
The adjusting
In the adjusting
As can be seen, the
In the
The clamping device consists of a
The
The clamping
