Abstract

A pop-top lid with a pre-formed opening which serves for dispensing the contents, is located in the lid plane, and is provided with essentially parallel side edges. The lid also includes a closure part which is provided with a tab and is slidably guided along the side edges of the pre-formed opening. The closure part is provided with an uninterrupted peripheral groove which corresponds to the shape of the pre-formed opening; to limit the slide path of the closure part, an abutment or stop is provided.

Description

The invention relates to a tear-open lid with a prepared opening in the lid mirror and provided with essentially parallel side edges for releasing the filling material and with a closure part provided with a grip part which is slidably guided along the side edges of the prepared opening and which limits its sliding path with a Stop is provided.

From DE-A-2342423 a tear-open cover is known in which the cover plate on the side edges of an eccentrically arranged pouring opening is formed by bending and folding into a groove-shaped guide in which the slide part of an opening tab is guided, which is designed with a double lever and is formed with an indentation grip part. The cover plate of the known cover is lifted up slightly at one end of the pouring opening in order to limit the position of the opening tab in one direction. To open the pouring opening in the known lid, a separate auxiliary opening is initially pushed open by the pushing-in process of the handle part, on the edge of which is caused by the pushing open, the short lever end of the handle part can be supported when the opening tab is moved in the guide formed by the cover plate should.

In the known lid, the opening tab on the long sides of the pouring opening is framed by the groove-shaped guide, at the ends of the pouring opening, however, it is only in each case at the bottom or top of the cover plate, so that special measures are required after the mechanical processing of the cover seal the lid at these points - especially for products under pressure or packed in a vacuum. The known lid also has the disadvantage that the container cannot be closed again, so that the contents can get out through the separate auxiliary opening of the tear-open lid when a container tips over.

Furthermore, a tear-open cover is known from US Pat. No. 3,952,912, in which a substantially flat tongue provided with a pull tab can be slid in a U-shaped groove or groove arranged around the prepared opening of the cover plate. To limit its glide path, the tongue is provided with two bulge-shaped depressions which are formed at the bottom. With this tear-open cover there is also the problem of sealing at the open end of the groove. In addition, the lid is not resealable because of the flat design of the tongue and the associated lack of rigidity.

Finally, a tear-open cover is known from US-A-3,200,986, which has a prepared circular opening in the cover mirror and a corresponding closure part made of elastic material. The closure part has a circumferential groove which surrounds the edge of the prepared opening - when the can is closed. The closure part can be inserted into and removed from the lid.

This known lid has essentially the disadvantage that the closure part is a separate part when the can is opened, which - carelessly thrown away - increases the pollution and, if it is mistakenly installed, makes it impossible to re-close the can.

The present invention is based on the object of designing a tear-open cover of the type mentioned at the outset which seals reliably even in the event of pressure differences and in which the prepared opening for releasing the filling material can be opened without a separate auxiliary opening. In addition, the tear-open lid should be able to be closed again and the closure part should remain inseparably connected to the tear-open lid even in the open state.

This object is achieved in that the closure part is provided with an uninterrupted circumferential groove corresponding to the shape of the prepared opening and that the area of the prepared opening adjacent to the connection between the closure part and the handle part is provided with auxiliary scoring lines pointing away from the circumference, of which the the auxiliary scribe line closest to the parallel side edges takes a course arranged parallel to the side edge. With this design of the tear-open cover, a good seal between the cover plate and the closure part is achieved, which can be increased by a coating of a sealing material, as well as a slight lifting of the closure part at the initial opening and a good emergence of the closure part from the cover plate during the further Clear the prepared opening in the cover plate.

The design of the tear-open cover according to claim 2 is intended to make it easier to initially lift the region of the closure part connected to the handle part.

In the drawing, the cover plate 1 of the cover mirror is shown in sections in the drawing. The cover plate 1 has a punched-out opening 3 which is formed with two essentially parallel side edges 2 - in the case of a beverage can the pouring opening - the ends 4, 5 of which are semicircular. At one end (5) there are short auxiliary scribe lines 6 running from the edge. At the transition of the semicircular end 5 of the opening 3 into the side edges 2, an auxiliary scribe line 6a is connected to an auxiliary scribe line 7 running parallel to the side edges 2. A tongue 8 is defined by the auxiliary scribe lines 6a and 7 of the side edges 2.

The opening 3 is closed by a closure part 9 of a closure element 10. The closure part 9 lies with a flat annular surface part 11 on the edge 12 of the cover plate 1. The annular surface part 11 merges inwards and downwards into an annular part which is S-shaped in cross section, the upper section 13 of which forms an outwardly open circumferential groove 14 encompassing the edge 12 of the opening 3, and whose lower section is designed as a flange 15 and represents the transition from the circumferential groove 14 into the base surface 16 of the closure part 9. The cover plate 1 is advantageously clamped firmly between the flange 15 and the flat surface part 11. In order to further improve the seal between the closure part 9 and the cover plate 1, it is provided to cover the underside of the finished tear-open cover with a film (not shown) consisting of a sealing compound. However, the underside of the surface part 11 or the edge 12 of the opening 3 can also be provided with a rubber coating.

The flat annular surface part 11 merges into a further surface 17, which is provided at its edge with a flanged flange 18 and is connected in one direction to a handle part 19. In the present exemplary embodiment, the grip part 19 is designed as a ring.

Fig. 6). Fig. 7).On the side where the closure part 9 is connected to the handle part 19, the depth t 1 of the circumferential groove 14 is comparatively small and in any case less than the depth t or t a at the other locations of the circumferential groove. In the present exemplary embodiment, the depth t increases from the minimum value t 1 to the parallel side edges 2, from where the circumferential groove 14 formed by the flange 15 has a uniform depth t a (cf. FIG. 6). However, it is also possible for the depth to increase continuously from its minimum value t 1 to the value t a on the opposite side, so that the depth t at any point on the circumferential groove 14 of the closure part 9 is: t,>t> t, (See Fig. 7).

In the base surface 16 of the closure part 9 there is a recess 20 with a stop surface 21 pointing towards the connection point between the closure part 9 and the handle part 19. In deviation from the embodiment shown in FIG. 1, the recess can also be designed as a cylindrical recess.

Fig. 4). The opening of the opening 3 is initiated in that the closure part 9 with the flange 15 on the side connected to the handle part 19 is raised above the cover plate 1 (cf. FIG. 4). In order to facilitate this initial opening process, the circumferential groove 14 has the smallest depth t 1 at this point. In addition, the auxiliary scoring lines -6, 6a allow the surface parts 22 of the cover plate 1 located between them to spread and go up at the edge of the opening 3. After lifting, the closure part 9 is pulled in the longitudinal direction of the opening 3, the parallel sides of the circumferential groove 14 being longitudinal slide parallel side edges 2 of opening 3. The tongue 8 given by the auxiliary score lines 6a and 7 yields during the opening process and enables the flange 15 forming the circumferential groove 14 to get up from the underside of the cover plate 1. The stop surface 21 limits the path of the closure element 10 when it abuts against the edge of the end 5 of the opening 3 and thus prevents the closure element 9 from being separated from the cover.

Since the opening 3 is arcuate at its end 5 and the base surface 16 of the closure part 9 has a straight cross-section at the height of the stop surface 21, a ventilation opening is provided at the point designated by 23, which z. B. when pouring the filling material through the free cross section of the opening 3rd proves to be advantageous.

The arrangement of the flanged flange 18 on the entire edge of the closure element 10 ensures that injuries are avoided even on separately occurring closure elements.

The closure element 10 can be pushed back after opening. In this way an at least provisional reclosure can be achieved.

Fig. 10). In a modification of the embodiment according to 1 and 2, the connection between the closure part 9 and the grip part 19 can advantageously also be formed by a bendable region 24 of the surface part 11 or the further surface 17. According to the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 9 and 10, the bendable region 24 extends over the entire width of the closure element 10. The flange flange 18 is interrupted in the bendable region 24 for this purpose. The cover mirror has a raised, transversely arranged bead 25 in the cover plate 1 near the end 5. The grip part 19, which in its initial position lies essentially on the closure part 9, also has a bead 26 in its surface 17 '. When the handle part 19 is bent into the position indicated by dash-dotted lines in FIG. 9, the two beads 26, 25 come into contact with one another (cf. FIG. 10). The point of contact of the two beads represents a fulcrum for the handle part 19, which is designed as a double-armed lever with respect to the fulcrum.

According to the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 11 and 12, the articulated connection between the closure part 9 and the grip part 19 exists only over part of the width of the closure element 10 in the middle. At the edge, the grip part 19 is formed with an extension 27, which represents the shorter lever arm of the grip part 19 designed as a double-armed lever. When pivoting the handle part 19, the extension 27 is supported against the bead 25 arranged in the cover plate 1, so that not only the lifting of the closure part 10 from the opening 3 is ensured, but also the initial sliding of the closure part 9 along the edges 2 of the opening 3 is facilitated.

Fig. 8). The sliding of the closure part 10 can be further facilitated by the fact that the distance f between the parallel side edges 2 and the bottom of the circumferential groove 14 - as seen from the connection point between the closure part 9 and the grip part 19 - increases (see FIG. 8). The increase in the distance f can advantageously be of the order of magnitude of 1 mm to a side length of 100 mm.
