Abstract

The invention is aimed at an arrangement for fastening a needle bar (8) in a groove (2) of a segment-like basic body (1) provided with a multiplicity of axis-parallel grooves (2) on machines carrying needle bars, for example combing machines, gill and heckle bars, open-end rings, fibrillating and perforating rollers and the like, the groove depth corresponding to at least the width of the carrier strip of the needle bar. According to the invention, the needle bar (8) is curved transversely relative to its longitudinal axis, specifically in such a way that the distance (17) between the chord (15) on the concavely curved carrier strip (10) of the needle bar (8) and the parallel tangent (16) on the convexly curved side of the needle bar (8) is greater than the width (6) of the groove (2), and that the curved needle bar (8) bears resiliently against the side walls (4,5) of the groove (2). Such an arrangement allows needle bars (8) to be fastened without any additional fastening elements. The needle bars (8) can be pressed firmly into the grooves (2) of the basic body (1) by means of an appropriate tool. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention is directed to an arrangement for fastening a pinstrip in a groove of a segment-like base body provided with a plurality of axially parallel grooves in machines carrying pinstripes, e.g. Combing machines, gill and pike rods, open-end rings, fibrillation and perforating rollers and the like, the groove depth corresponding at least to the width of the support strip of the pinstrip. Such pin strips, the fastening of which to the machine is the subject of the invention, consist of comparatively thin sheet metal strips on one or two opposite sides of the needle shafts, which are welded, soldered or glued to the sheet metal strips. These pinstripes are treated as a unit and are replaced as a whole if individual needles wear. They have long been state of the art.

Clamping devices consisting of clamping elements which are screwed relative to the base body are often used to fasten such pin strips. Various types of clamping wedges have also become known, which lock such pin strips on their contact surfaces. According to an older proposal (patent application P 29 16 438.3-26), the needles are also used in bores which penetrate a cylindrical or segment-shaped needle carrier. Here, the pinstripes rest at three alternately opposite points of the bore under spring tension. These Embodiment, however, requires special holes, so that it can not be used everywhere. Since the replacement of worn needles also requires a considerable amount of time and still requires considerable machine downtimes, efforts continue to be made in the direction of an even more simplified attachment of needle bars in textile preparation machines, in particular those which accommodate the pin strips in axially parallel grooves, which is a particularly simple construction conditionally. The object of the invention is to provide such simple locking of the pinstripes with the least possible design effort.

The basic idea of the invention is that the pinstripe is curved transversely to its longitudinal axis such that the distance between the tendon on the concavely curved support strip of the pinstrip and the tangent parallel thereto on the convexly curved side of the pinstrip is greater than the width of the groove and that the curved pinstripe resiliently abuts the side walls of the groove.

Such an arrangement for attaching pinstripes practically dispenses with all additional fastening elements, such as screws, clamps, wedges or the like, which not only mean additional effort, but are also extremely difficult to accommodate due to the limited space. The pin strips prepared in this way can, appropriately with the aid of an appropriate tool, be pressed into the grooves of the base body in such a way that they can withstand all the stresses that arise without difficulty. The invention uses the spring force inherent in the extremely hard needles. The curvature of the cross section of the pinstrip results in a three-point contact of the pinstrip within the groove. The support of the strip on the bottom of the groove ensures that the tips of the needles run on the desired circular arc.

In a further embodiment of the invention, the distance between the two collars on the curved pinstripe is 5 to 20% larger than the width of the groove. Based on the fact that the spring force of thin needles is greater than that of needles of greater shaft thickness, the radius of curvature can be selected differently.

In an alternative embodiment, the invention provides that the pinstripe is curved at an obtuse angle or that the pinstripe is designed in the shape of a circular arc. Which embodiment is preferred in individual cases depends on the given circumstances. The invention is also not dependent on the pinstripe having a support strip on both sides. Such a support strip on one side of the pinstrip is sufficient. The support bar can also be U-shaped, the needle shafts engaging in the U-opening.

Hierbei zeigen:

  • Fig. 1 die Seitenansicht eines segmentförmigen Grundkörpers zur Aufnahme der Nadeln;
Further features, details and advantages of the invention result from the following description of a preferred embodiment of the invention. Here show:
  • Figure 1 is a side view of a segment-shaped base body for receiving the needles.
  • Fig. 2 is an enlarged detail of Fig. 1, in perspective and cut as well
  • 3 and 4 two different embodiments of the curved pin strips in perspective or in section.

The segment-like base body 1 is provided with a plurality of grooves 2 which are parallel to one another and axially parallel. The grooves 2 end blind in the base body 1. The bottom of the grooves 2 is designated 3. The two groove walls 4 and 5 run parallel and at a distance 6 from each other. The pinstripe 8 is intended for inclusion in the groove 2. It consists of a multiplicity of needles 9 arranged at the same distance next to one another, which are connected on both sides to a support strip 10 and 11 made of thin sheet metal, for example welded, soldered or glued. As shown, this pinstripe 8 is slightly curved in cross-section and angled at an obtuse angle of approximately 170 °. This results in the concave side 12 of the needle bar 8 two support points, namely the support point 13 at the upper end of the support bar 10 and the support point 14 at the foot of this support bar 10. The connecting line 15 of these two points forms a chord. The parallel line 16 to this chord 15 lies on the outside of the support strip 11 of the pinstripe 8 as a tangent. Both parallels 15 and 16 are at a distance from one another which is designated by 17.

The width 18 of the support strips 10, 11 of the pinstrip 8 is at most as large as the depth of the groove 2 in the base body 1.

Unter der ihm innewohnenden Federkraft liegt der Nadelstreifen 8 mit seinen Anlagepunkten 13, 40 u. 20 fest an den Seitenwänden 4 und 5 der Nut an.If a pinstrip 8 formed in the manner shown in FIG. 3 is now inserted into the groove 2 of the base body 1, expediently with the aid of an appropriate tool, until the foot 19 comes to rest on the bottom 3 of the groove 2, the contact points 13 and 14 on the concave side of the curved pinstrip 8 on the side wall 4 of the groove. The contact point 20 on the convex side of the pinstrip 8, however, rests on the side wall 5. Since the distance 17 of the two parallels 16 and 15 is now 5 to 20% greater than the width 6 of the groove 2, the pinstripe 8 experiences a certain deformation in the groove in the sense of an extension of its predetermined curvature. Under the inherent spring force, the pinstrip 8 lies with its contact points 13, 40 u. 20 firmly on the side walls 4 and 5 of the groove.

Der Anlagepunkt 20 an der konvexen Seite des Nadelstreifens 21 liegt dabei, wie-ersichtlich, zwischen den beiden gegenüberliegenden Anlagepunkten 13 und 14.Fig. 4 shows a circular arcuate pinstripe 21, which in turn with its corresponding contact points 13 at the upper end and 14 at the foot of the support strip 10 arranged on the concave side of the pinstrip 21 and its opposite contact point 20 on the convex side of the pinstrip 21 the corresponding Walls 4 and 5 of the groove 2 abuts. The contact point 20 on the convex side of the pinstripe 21 lies, as can be seen, between the two opposite contact points 13 and 14.
