Description

The invention relates to an output device of a copying machine for the stacking of PVC copying films in a storage container, with a fan, a transfer corona and a discharge brush in the interior of the copying machine.

It is known to use conventional copying machines which use coated or uncoated paper as image-receiving material to process foils as copying material. In general, these are coated polyester films that are provided as transparencies and are produced as individual copies that are not stacked. The quality of the respective foils is decisive for the copy quality that can be achieved, since there is a connection between the copy quality and the surface structure of the foils. The mechanism of transferring the toner images onto foils differs from that of transferring them onto paper in that the plastic foils provide good electrical insulation and do not absorb the toner liquid, while paper is less well insulated and especially absorbs the toner liquid. The toner images on plastic foils are made up of toner dots in a grid pattern.

Because of these different mechanisms of transferring toner images onto plastic films and onto paper, the former have difficulties when fixing the toner images and when stacking them after the copying process. A further difficulty still arises that the plastics sheets during the fusing generally must only be heated to a temperature between 110 ° C to 130 0 C in order to avoid a thermoplastic deformation of the films, while the fixing temperatures in paper to some can be set higher.

It can be seen that the toner images on plastic films, for example PVC copier films, cannot yet be dry-wiped dry when fixed within the temperature range specified above. Another disadvantage is the electrostatic charging of the plastic films, as a result of which, in contrast to paper copies, they cannot be stacked on top of one another in a storage container, but rather adhere to one another. This can lead to backlogs in the interior of the copying machine, since the subsequent copying foils are prevented from exiting by the foils adhering to one another in the storage container, or the copying foils are pushed out of the dispensing container. The object of the invention is to improve an output device of a copying machine of the type described in the introduction so that the plastic films are dry, smudge-proof before being put down and without being able to adhere to one another electrostatically adhering to one another in the storage container.

This object is achieved in that on the outside of the copier above the output is arranged a tangential fan, the air flow of which presses a PVC copy film emerging from the output gap with the back against a discharge element.

Die weitere Ausgestaltung der Erfindung ergibt sich aus den Merkmalen der Patentansprüche 1 bis 9.The further embodiment of the invention results from the features of claims 1 to 9.

With the discharge element at the output gap it is achieved that the electrostatic charging of the copying films is sufficiently reduced by the grounded discharge element, which grazes along the upper edge of the charged back of the copying film, in order to enable proper stacking of the copying films in the storage container. The air flow of the fan brings about both a complete drying of the toner image on the PVC copy film and an intimate contact between the back of the PVC copy film and the discharge element, which ensures that the electrostatic charges are dissipated from the back of the PVC copy film to ground is. A further advantage is that the air flow from the fan pushes the foils downwards, resulting in a kind of snap movement of the foil downwards into the storage container. This snap movement also ensures that a film that has jammed, for example, and has not gotten properly into the storage container, is released from this clamping position and properly deposited.

Of a copying machine 1, only the transport path of an image-receiving material, for example a plastic film, in the present case a PVC copying film 16, is shown in FIG. 1. It is obvious that the subject matter of the invention is not restricted to a PVC or a coated copier film, but is suitable for any plastic film. From a storage cassette (not shown) in the copying machine 1, a copying film 16 reaches a selenium drum 9, from the surface of which a toner image is transferred to the copying film 16 by means of a transfer corona 24. In the area of the deflecting roller 10, the copying film 16 is included means of a guide spring, not shown, or a deflection belt, which partially abuts the circumference of the deflection roller 10, detached from the selenium drum 9 and guided to transport rollers 5 and 6. These transport rollers 5 and 6 convey the copying film 16 through a fixing station, which is composed of a fixing pressure roller 11 and a heating plate 26 underneath. Below the heating plate 26 there is a fan 25, which contributes to drying the toner image on the copying film 16. The copying film passes through the fixing station to discharge rollers 12 and 13, which are arranged near the housing wall of the copying machine 1 in front of an output nip 17. Above the discharge gap 17, a discharge brush 2 is attached to the inside of the housing wall of the copying machine 1, which contributes to the electrostatic discharge of the front side of the copying film 16.

The deflection roller 10, the transport roller 6, the fixing pressure roller 11 and the discharge roller 12 are driven via a transport chain 27, which is an endless chain via the aforementioned rollers, a deflection roller pair 7, 8, a chain tensioner 3 and a chain tensioner deflection roller 14 between the deflection roller 10 and the transport roller 6 rotates. The deflecting roller 10 is driven in a manner not shown together with the selenium drum 9 via a gear.

In Fig. L, a copy film 16 is shown, which lies with its front edge against a discharge element 18 which is on the outside of the housing wall of the Copier 1 is attached. The discharge element 18 is connected to the ground point 19 and its upper edge lies higher than a transport plane 23, which is shown in broken lines in FIG. 1 and in which the copying film 16 is moved through the output gap 17. The discharge element 18 consists of an elastic material and serves as an additional guide element for the copying film 16 emerging from the output nip 17. The discharge rollers 12 and 13 advance the copying film 16, as a result of which the discharge element 18 is curved and with its upper edge under pressure on the back of the Copy film 16 abuts, as shown in dashed lines in Fig. 1.

Above the discharge gap 17, a fan 20, for example a tangential fan, is arranged on the outside of the copying machine 1, which is oriented such that its air flow strikes the front of the copying film 16 perpendicularly. This air flow presses the copying film 16 against the discharge element 18 and thereby ensures a corresponding contact between the back of the copying film 16 and the discharge element 18. The electrostatic charges located on the back of the copying film 16 are dissipated to ground via the discharge element 18. At the same time, the air flow of the tangential fan 20 causes the toner image on the copying film 16 to be wiped dry.

There is an output beneath the discharge element 18 container 15 arranged, the collecting surface is angled such that the smaller part of the surface is horizontal and the larger part is directed obliquely upwards. The electrostatically discharged copier films form a stack 16 'in the output container 15.

With the support of the air flow of the fan 20, an exact placement of the individual copier foils 16 in the output container 15 is also achieved, even if the top copier foil of the stack 16 'does not, for example, lie smoothly on the copy foils underneath, but is curved in the lower part and bears against the discharge element 18. As soon as the next copy film 16 emerges from the output gap 17 and thereby pushes the discharge element 18 with the plastic film lying against it forward, the air flow of the fan 20 presses it against the curved top copy film of the stack 16 ', which generally causes this film to snap executes downwards and is aligned with the other copying foils of the stack 16 '.

As shown schematically in FIG. 2a, the discharge element 18 has the shape of a comb, for example, which is formed from individual sections. The upper edges 21 of these sections run horizontally, so that there is a line contact with the back of the copy film 16. As material for the discharge element 18, for example, an aluminum vapor-coated polyester film is used, which is up to to 100 µm, with a thickness of 75 µm being preferred.

In a further embodiment of the invention, the discharge element consists of a brush which is formed from elastic metal wires 22, as shown in FIG. 2b.

Another embodiment of the invention is shown in FIG. 3 and differs from the embodiment according to FIG. 1 only in that the fan 20 is inclined relative to the transport plane 23 of the copying film 16. This inclination is adjustable so that the optimum flow direction of the air flow onto the copying film 16 can be set as required in order to obtain a deposit thereof in the output container without tilting the copying film.
