Abstract

The invention relates to an ionising electrode in the form of elongate bands, wires, tubes or the like with ionising tips for use in electric filters in which exhaust gases containing liquid components are cleaned. The function of ionising electrodes of this kind is often impaired by the fact that the liquid components of the exhaust gases are deposited on them and under the influence of inertia forces condensation and electrostatic forces, deposits are formed in particular on the ionising tips. As a result, the points of the highest charge concentration are made more or less inactive and the deposition effect of the electric filter is reduced. The invention is based on the object of avoiding depositions on the ionising tips or substantially reducing them. In order to achieve this object it is provided that in the working position of the ionising electrodes (4) every component of the ionising tip (1) is arranged lower than the point (2) of the ionising tip with the highest charge concentration, i.e. that even the highest connecting point (3) between ionising tip (1) and ionising electrode (4) is situated lower than the said point (2). <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a spray electrode in the form of elongated strips, wires, tubes or the like with spray tips for cleaning exhaust gases which contain liquid components.

In the case of electrostatic filters, the so-called spray electrodes are an essential part of the system. These electrodes have different designs, which are significantly influenced by the respective task that the filter has to fulfill. Among other things, a distinction is made between two main application features, namely the cleaning of dry exhaust gases containing dust and the cleaning of saturated exhaust gases carrying dust and / or liquid drops.

The spray electrodes themselves can be divided into variations without and with defined spray points, tips or lines. The spray tips are formed by elements of the spray electrode whose point with the highest charge concentration is arranged lower than parts of the spray tips (DE-AS 12 01 816, DE-AS 11 55 422, DE-AS 20 18 447). When these spray electrodes are used in electrostatic precipitators for cleaning exhaust gases containing dust and liquid drops, e.g. due to inertial forces, condensation and electrical forces, to deposits on the spray tips and, moreover, to sheathing the points with the highest charge concentration due to outflowing coating components. As a result, the separating effect of the electrostatic filter decreases, so that cleaning is necessary.

It has also been proposed to prevent the weakening of the emission due to deposits by designing the spray tips as projections which have at least one curve with a larger radius than 0.5 mm (DE-GM 73 14 730). The rounding is intended to work as an emission zone in such a way that when an attachment is formed on part of the rounding, the emission originates from an adjacent area of the rounding. Apart from the fact that the roundings have to be observed very precisely, these roundings in the case of gases containing liquid drops can only delay the deposition on the entire rounding for a short time.

The object of the invention is to avoid or substantially reduce the inactivation of the spray tips by deposits.

This object is achieved according to the invention in that each part of the spray tip is lower in the working position is arranged as the point of the spray tip with the highest charge concentration. The spray electrodes can be arranged vertically or horizontally in the electrostatic filters. The shape of the spray tips can be any. The spray tips can also be equipped with several points with the highest charge concentration if all of these points meet the requirements mentioned above.

A preferred embodiment consists in that the point of the spray tip with the highest charge concentration is arranged 3 to 100 mm above the upper connection of the spray tip with the band, rotating, tube or the like. This very effectively prevents build-up.

The invention is explained in more detail with reference to the figures and, for example, explained.

Figures 1 to 6 show vertically arranged spray electrodes in various embodiments, wherein in Figs. 1 and 2 the spray electrodes were punched out of strips, in FIG. 3 the spray tips were punched out of an strip and angled, in FIG. 4 the spray tips were wound around a tube in the form of spikes, and in FIG. 5 and 6 the spray tips were welded to a hollow tube. 7 shows horizontally arranged spray electrodes in various embodiments in a longitudinal view.

Each part of the spray tip 1 is lower than the point with the highest charge concentration 2. With 3 the upper connection of the spray tip 1 with the tape, wire, tube or the like L is designated.

The advantages of the invention are that the formation of lugs at the points of the spray tips with the highest Charge concentration and thereby the inactivation of the spray tips is avoided or significantly reduced. This avoids frequent cleaning of the spray electrodes with a connected shutdown of the electrostatic filter.
