Abstract

The textile water keel (1) is filled with water for stabilising and weighting (ballast) the boat, in which arrangement the water keel (1) is firmly installed during building of the boats or can also be subsequently inserted in already existing boats, preferably inflatable boats. The water keel is divided in the longitudinal direction by a flexible, textile partition (6) into two tubular chambers which are independent of one another and are in turn split up in the transverse direction by two or more textile partitions (7) into three or more tubular-chamber sections which, depending on requirement, can be filled with air or water and also emptied again via inlet tubes (4, 5). The same principle can be applied in the case of so-called solid keels (e.g. of plastic, metal), in which case the separation of the tubular chambers or partitioning of the tubular-chamber sections can be of textile or flexible construction or even rigid construction.

Description

The safety of a boat essentially depends on its own weight in storms and high waves. Light sports boats in particular, as well as inflatable boats, which often have to be transported overland, are helplessly exposed to the force of the wind and waves and are at risk of downforce and capsizing because they are simply too light. In addition, these boats can no longer be kept on course after a certain wind force, because the lighter the boat, the stronger the downforce, wind and waves. This weight problem has hitherto been solved by artificially weighting the boats as additional ballast by taking in lead or other heavy metals, including concrete, etc. This ballast had to be installed at the lowest point of the fuselage. However, weight absorption in this way is not suitable for light sports boats and in particular rubber boats, the advantage of which is that they can be easily transported on land.

The invention relates to a textile water keel for light sports boats and in particular inflatable boats, which can be filled with water for stabilization and weighting (ballast) of the boat, the water keel being built in during construction or also being retrofitted into existing boats, preferably inflatable boats .

The invention has set itself the goal of solving the problem by using water as ballast material. The textile water keel consists of two hose chambers that are independent of one another in the longitudinal direction by means of a flexible, textile separation 6, which in turn are divided into three or more hose chamber sections by two or more separations in the transverse direction 7, which can optionally and also be filled differently with water or air and giving the respective boat a higher weight stabilization by filling the textile water keel with water.

The flexible, textile separation 6 in the longitudinal direction and the textile separations 7 in the transverse direction serve to achieve an optional loading and stabilization of the boat with water or air as required. The textile partition 7 in the transverse direction prevents the water from shifting in weight in the longitudinal direction of the water keel and thus in the longitudinal direction of the boat. Air is supplied to the upper hose chamber sections via three or more inlet hoses 4. Water is also supplied to the lower hose chamber sections via three or more inlet hoses 5. Water and air are removed again via these inlet hoses 4, 5, the water being pressed out again by generating an additional air pressure via the inlet hoses 5.

The principle described above is also applicable to water keels made of plastic, metal or the like on the outside. Material consist, where the partitions 7 can not consist of textile fabric, but also made of these materials.

The invention is described, for example, with reference to the drawings ben.
