Definitions
- the invention relates to the structure and structure of indirectly controlled switching systems with time channel connection paths, as are provided in particular for telephone purposes. It is already known to create such switching systems for a more or less large number of subscriber stations. Accordingly, such switching systems have a more or less large number of time channel couplers, through which time channels are routed, which transmit the signals required for call connections, which can also occur in the form of PCM signals (see, for example, DAS 22 11 400, 22 25 702, 22 25 703; DPS 24 54 144).
- the object of the invention is to provide expansions and expansions in a suitable manner for such a system.
- existing systems can be supplemented so that a larger number of subscriber stations than previously indicated can be closed.
- the expansion levels are also expansion levels here, since systems supplemented with such levels can be supplied from the outset if a correspondingly large number of subscriber stations are to be connected.
- the subscriber line circuits each have individual BORSHT devices that are used for power supply, overvoltage protection, call activation, signaling and for test purposes (see 1978 International Zurich Seminar on Digital Communications, Proceedings, IEEE Catalog No. 78CH1325-0 ASST, pages B2 .1, A4.1). These devices can also be used for 2/4 wire conversion. If the subscriber connection circuits in front of the associated subscriber stations are not already supplied with PCM signals, the BORSHT devices must each be supplemented with filters and PCM codecs.
- the expansion and expansion stages provided in accordance with the invention have the advantage that a system can be expanded in each case without having to provide for preliminary work that is significant beforehand.
- the existing facilities are largely retained and supplemented by additional facilities. Accordingly, the same sub-devices can largely be used in the various expansion stages based on the modular principle.
- the distribution of the control processes among one or more decentralized control units and a central control unit results in the use of control units which have to handle clearly differentiated control sections and which can thus be brought to cooperation via clearly definable function interfaces.
- a first stage of expansion LTG1 is shown there, which has the time channel coupler TSU, which is equipped with the coupler control SESC and with the damping circuit ATU.
- the SESC coupler control receives setting commands from the decentralized control unit GP.
- the attenuation circuit ATU can compensate for attenuation differences in the subscriber lines connected to the time channel coupler TSU via subscriber connection circuits the subscriber stations, such as to the subscriber station T1.
- the subscriber line circuit t1 belongs to the subscriber station T1.
- the subscriber line circuits are grouped together here to form multiple line circuits.
- the subscriber line circuits t1 ... t32 are combined to form the multiple line circuit LTU1.
- the subscriber line circuits here each have the BORSHT devices already described and, if appropriate, also individual filters and PCM codecs.
- several multiple connection circuits are provided, which also include the multiple connection circuit LTU8.
- Corresponding multiple connection circuits can also be provided, in which a plurality of connection line connection circuits are combined, to which connection lines are connected, which lead, for example, to other switching systems. If signals with PCM code already arrive from there, no PCM codecs are required with these multiple connection circuits.
- the signal circuit ⁇ SEU is also connected to the time channel coupler TSU, in which the tone generator, call generator, code transmitter and receiver are combined. This signal circuit can accordingly provide the various audible tones as well as call signs and other required code signs. It can also receive such characters for its evaluation.
- the subscriber line circuits t1. ... t32 and the others as well as the signal circuit SEU are connected to the control unit GP and to the time channel coupler TSU. These devices can therefore be connected to each other occasionally via the time channel coupler TSU. In addition, they can also exchange control signals with the control unit GP via the associated character buffer SBU, with the help of which an annoying time constraint is avoided.
- the control unit SSP the processing unit PU, also belongs to this control unit
- the remote data transmission connection DF is also provided there, via which control data can optionally be exchanged with other exchanges.
- the first stage of expansion LTG1 is obviously already a complete and fully functional switching system.
- first stages of expansion can now also be combined to form a larger switching system. This is also evident from the figure.
- time channel couplers TSU of the first expansion stages LTG1, LTG2 and LTG3 are connected in all combinations via the intermediate lines z12, z13 and z23, via which time channels are routed.
- the associated control units GP are connected to the correspondingly constructed central control unit CP.
- This central control unit is involved in the establishment and dismantling of connection routes that lead over at least two of the expansion stages LTG1, LTG2 and LTG3.
- the central control unit CP also causes the other control units to be used for setting up and clearing connection paths.
- the central control unit CP includes the character buffer SBUz, the control unit SSPz, the processing unit PUz, the memory MUz and the input / output controller IOPz, to which the background memory FDz and the operating device SPz are connected.
- the remote data transmission connection DFz is also provided there. It can be seen that in order for this switching system, which is also fully functional, to come about, substantial preliminary work is not necessary in the associated first expansion stages.
- the time channel couplers of the first expansion stage are not connected directly via intermediate lines but rather via intermediate lines currently with a single-stage central switching network SN with several time channel couplers TSU1 ... TSUm.
- This central switching matrix has its own switching matrix control SGC, which can receive setting commands from the central control unit CP.
- the first expansion stages LTG1 ... LTGn, to which the subscriber stations T1 ... Ty are connected, are connected to the switching network SN via the intermediate lines mentioned here.
- the central control unit CP is also connected to the time channel couplers TSU1 ...
- TSUm of the switching network SN with the central control unit CP It can therefore be omitted all dashed intermediate lines and connecting lines shown in the figure, which were used in the second stage of expansion. In the expansion or expansion to the third stage of expansion, therefore, there is apparently only hardly any significant previously provided facilities.
- the associated first expansion stages LTG1 ... ZTGn and the central switching network SN can be equipped with the same time channel couplers.
- the central switching network SN must be equipped with several switching stages. Two time channel coupling stages are expediently provided, between which one or more space channel coupling stages are inserted (see DAS 20 21 049; 1978 International Zurich Seminar ...., pages B6.1 to B6.6). It is then advisable to provide runtime compensation devices at the central switching network SN. There will then be disruptive restrictions on the spatial expansion of the facility avoided. Runtime differences due to considerable spatial expansion can then be compensated for by the runtime compensation devices.
- a control unit of the first stage of development such as the control unit GP, in any case handles such switching functions that arise for every connection request and that are subject to time constraints. These include the polling of subscriber circuits, the processing of switching signals, which are in particular supplied by subscriber circuits or via connecting lines, the charge registration, for example charge pulses being counted, and the delivery of setting commands for the coupler control.
- the possibly existing central control unit CP handles switching functions that have to take into account the connection of the partial devices of the installation and their connection with other installations. This includes the evaluation of dialed digits from telephone numbers, the search for switching network outlets to be used, the search and selection of connection routes and routing. This relieves the pressure on the control units of the first stage of expansion.
- the central control unit CP has no routine tasks that are particularly time-consuming. This facilitates cooperation with the decentralized control units.
- the processing of switching signals in the decentralized control units advantageously enables the exchange of messages between the decentralized control units and the central control unit CP to be handled via a standardized function interface.
- the type of signaling system used in each case therefore has no effect on the mode of operation and the switching structure of the central control unit CP.
- Various signaling systems can be provided, such as direct current signaling, alternating current signaling, multi-frequency sequence code character signaling or digital signaling.
- the central control unit CP and the multi-level central switching network SN twice. In the figure, this is indicated by the fact that these devices are double-framed. This avoids failure of the entire system if one of the duplicate devices fails. A failure of the non-duplicated facilities does not affect the functioning of the other parts of the system and can therefore usually be accepted.
- the duplicated devices can also monitor each other, which applies in particular to the central control unit (see e.g. DOS 15 24 239; DAS 19 65 314, 21 04 298). It is also possible to identify faulty locations within these facilities, which contributes significantly to quick troubleshooting.
- a decentralized control unit such as the control unit GP
- the time measurements are used to monitor whether the various switching processes take place in the normal time provided. An alarm is triggered if inadmissible timeouts occur.
- the decentralized control units also perform interconnection tests in the switching network, whereby test samples are sent, which can then be correctly received again. There may also be indications of faulty Positions result.
- Error messages can then be forwarded to the central control unit CP, if present, which can then deliver commands for blocking faulty sub-devices or for an equivalent circuit.
- These error messages can be sent via the connections between the decentralized control units and the central control unit CP.
- Special line systems for error messages or alarm signals are therefore not necessary. No special equivalent switching line systems are required either. The equivalent circuit is facilitated by the presence of the duplicate devices.
- the switching matrix of the first expansion stage such as the switching matrix SES, is also equipped with a multi-conference device MCU. Connections can therefore also be established in which more than two subscriber stations are involved. This device can also help to maintain the functionality of a first stage of expansion in the event of faults in the associated time channel coupler TSU, albeit to a limited extent.
- variable data are contained in a memory of a control unit of the first stage of expansion, such as data about existing connections, data about occupancy of time channels, data about connection impulses incurred individually.
- permanent data are contained in the memory MUz of a central control unit CP, the data for digit evaluation and for zoning, data about subscriber stations, data about the connection the switching network and other sub-facilities of the plant.
- variable data mentioned is also contained in the memories of decentralized control units, if a central control unit malfunctions, the switching operation can be continued by using this data. They can also be used to reconstruct the variable data contained in the faulty central control unit. It may be advisable to save the data about existing connection paths in the memory of the central control unit as variable data from the outset.
Abstract
Description
DAS 22 11 400, 22 25 702, 22 25 703; DPS 24 54 144).The invention relates to the structure and structure of indirectly controlled switching systems with time channel connection paths, as are provided in particular for telephone purposes.
The object of the invention is to provide expansions and expansions in a suitable manner for such a system. Depending on the expansion levels, existing systems can be supplemented so that a larger number of subscriber stations than previously indicated can be closed. The expansion levels are also expansion levels here, since systems supplemented with such levels can be supplied from the outset if a correspondingly large number of subscriber stations are to be connected.
- a) an den einstufigen blockierungsfreien Zeitkanalkoppler der ersten Ausbaustufe, der mit einer Kopplersteuerung und mit einer Dämpfungsschaltung ausgerüstet sind, sind Teilnehmeranschlußschaltungen angeschlossen, die jeweils individuell BORSHT-Einrichtungen sowie gegebenenfalls Filter und PCM-Codecs haben; an den Zeitkanalkoppler ist ferner eine Signalschaltung mit Tongenerator, Rufgenerator, Codesender- und -empfänger angeschlossen; die Teilnehmeranschlußschaltungen, die Signalschaltung und die Kopplersteuerung sind an ein Steuerwerk mit Leitwerk, Verarbeitungswerk und Speicher über einen zugehörigen Zeichenpuffer angeschlossen;
- b) für die zweite Austauschstufe sind die Zeitkanalkoppler einiger erster Ausbaustufen in allen Kombinationen über Zwischenleitungen.verbunden, über die Zeitkanäle geführt sind, außerdem sind die Steuerwerke mit einem entsprechend aufgebauten zentralen Steuerwerk verbunden, das beim Aufbau und Abbau von Verbindungswegen mitwirkt, die über mehrere erste Ausbaustufen führen;
- c) bei der dritten Ausbaustufe sind die Zeitkanalkoppler einer größeren Anzahl erster Ausbaustufen statt direkt.über Zwischenleitungen mit einem einstufigen zentralen Koppelfeld mit mehreren Zeitkanalkopplern verbunden, das eine eigene Koppelfeldsteuerung hat;
- a) to the single-stage, non-blocking time-channel coupler of the first stage, which is equipped with a coupler control and with a damping circuit, subscriber connection circuits are connected, each of which has individual BORSHT devices and, if appropriate, filters and PCM codecs; a signal circuit with tone generator, call generator, code transmitter and receiver is also connected to the time channel coupler; the subscriber line circuits, the signal circuit and the coupler control are connected to a control unit with a tail unit, processing unit and memory via an associated character buffer;
- b) for the second exchange stage, the time channel couplers of some first expansion stages are connected in all combinations via intermediate lines, through which time channels are routed, and the control units are also connected to a correspondingly constructed central control unit, which participates in the establishment and dismantling of connection paths over several lead first expansion stages;
- c) in the third expansion stage, the time channel couplers are a larger number of first expansion stages instead of di rect. connected via intermediate lines with a single-stage central switching matrix with several time channel couplers, which has its own switching matrix control;
- d) in further expansion stages, the central switching matrix has two time channel switching stages, between which one or more space channel switching stages are inserted.
The subscriber line circuits each have individual BORSHT devices that are used for power supply, overvoltage protection, call activation, signaling and for test purposes (see 1978 International Zurich Seminar on Digital Communications, Proceedings, IEEE Catalog No.
The expansion and expansion stages provided in accordance with the invention have the advantage that a system can be expanded in each case without having to provide for preliminary work that is significant beforehand. At the various expansion levels, the existing facilities are largely retained and supplemented by additional facilities. Accordingly, the same sub-devices can largely be used in the various expansion stages based on the modular principle. The distribution of the control processes among one or more decentralized control units and a central control unit results in the use of control units which have to handle clearly differentiated control sections and which can thus be brought to cooperation via clearly definable function interfaces.
It is already known (see 1978 International Zurich Seminar ..., pages B2.1 to B2.5) to equip a comparable system with BORSHT devices and filters and PCM 'codecs. There, however, the subscriber stations are initially connected to a space switching matrix which serves to concentrate the traffic and which is set up with the aid of highly resilient electronic switches. In addition, it is recommended that the BORSHT facilities mentioned be assigned to groups of participants. If, in contrast, these devices belong individually to the subscriber line circuits and if they are used on the subscriber side in front of the switching matrix of the system, they can also serve to reduce the signal level. The electronic switches to be used for the switching matrix can then advantageously be conveniently combined in integrated circuits. In such known comparable systems, the measures that lead to expedient expansions and expansion stages in the invention are also missing (see also DPS 24 54 144).
Zu diesem Steuerwerk gehört noch das Leitwerk SSP, das Verarbeitungswerk PU, derExamples of the arrangement of a switching system according to the invention in expansion and expansion stages are explained in more detail below with reference to the figure. The details of the system are shown here only to the extent that it is important for the invention, which primarily affects the division into different sub-devices. A first stage of expansion LTG1 is shown there, which has the time channel coupler TSU, which is equipped with the coupler control SESC and with the damping circuit ATU. The SESC coupler control receives setting commands from the decentralized control unit GP. The attenuation circuit ATU can compensate for attenuation differences in the subscriber lines connected to the time channel coupler TSU via subscriber connection circuits the subscriber stations, such as to the subscriber station T1. The subscriber line circuit t1 belongs to the subscriber station T1. The subscriber line circuits are grouped together here to form multiple line circuits. The subscriber line circuits t1 ... t32 are combined to form the multiple line circuit LTU1. However, the subscriber line circuits here each have the BORSHT devices already described and, if appropriate, also individual filters and PCM codecs. In the first stage of expansion LTG1, several multiple connection circuits are provided, which also include the multiple connection circuit LTU8. Corresponding multiple connection circuits can also be provided, in which a plurality of connection line connection circuits are combined, to which connection lines are connected, which lead, for example, to other switching systems. If signals with PCM code already arrive from there, no PCM codecs are required with these multiple connection circuits. The signal circuit · SEU is also connected to the time channel coupler TSU, in which the tone generator, call generator, code transmitter and receiver are combined. This signal circuit can accordingly provide the various audible tones as well as call signs and other required code signs. It can also receive such characters for its evaluation. The subscriber line circuits t1. ... t32 and the others as well as the signal circuit SEU are connected to the control unit GP and to the time channel coupler TSU. These devices can therefore be connected to each other occasionally via the time channel coupler TSU. In addition, they can also exchange control signals with the control unit GP via the associated character buffer SBU, with the help of which an annoying time constraint is avoided. The control unit SSP, the processing unit PU, also belongs to this control unit
Memory MU and the input / output control IOP, to which the background memory FD and the operating device SP are also connected. The remote data transmission connection DF is also provided there, via which control data can optionally be exchanged with other exchanges. The first stage of expansion LTG1 is obviously already a complete and fully functional switching system.
Several such first stages of expansion can now also be combined to form a larger switching system. This is also evident from the figure. There the time channel couplers TSU of the first expansion stages LTG1, LTG2 and LTG3 are connected in all combinations via the intermediate lines z12, z13 and z23, via which time channels are routed. In addition, the associated control units GP are connected to the correspondingly constructed central control unit CP. This central control unit is involved in the establishment and dismantling of connection routes that lead over at least two of the expansion stages LTG1, LTG2 and LTG3. The central control unit CP also causes the other control units to be used for setting up and clearing connection paths. The central control unit CP includes the character buffer SBUz, the control unit SSPz, the processing unit PUz, the memory MUz and the input / output controller IOPz, to which the background memory FDz and the operating device SPz are connected. In addition, the remote data transmission connection DFz is also provided there. It can be seen that in order for this switching system, which is also fully functional, to come about, substantial preliminary work is not necessary in the associated first expansion stages.
Are so many subscriber stations to the switching system to connect that a larger number of first expansion stages are required, e.g. a maximum of approx. 15, the time channel couplers of the first expansion stage are not connected directly via intermediate lines but rather via intermediate lines currently with a single-stage central switching network SN with several time channel couplers TSU1 ... TSUm. This central switching matrix has its own switching matrix control SGC, which can receive setting commands from the central control unit CP. The first expansion stages LTG1 ... LTGn, to which the subscriber stations T1 ... Ty are connected, are connected to the switching network SN via the intermediate lines mentioned here. The central control unit CP is also connected to the time channel couplers TSU1 ... TSUm of the switching network SN with the central control unit CP. It can therefore be omitted all dashed intermediate lines and connecting lines shown in the figure, which were used in the second stage of expansion. In the expansion or expansion to the third stage of expansion, therefore, there is apparently only hardly any significant previously provided facilities. The associated first expansion stages LTG1 ... ZTGn and the central switching network SN can be equipped with the same time channel couplers.
If the number of subscriber stations becomes very large and the number of the first stages of expansion also becomes quite large, the central switching network SN must be equipped with several switching stages.
A control unit of the first stage of development, such as the control unit GP, in any case handles such switching functions that arise for every connection request and that are subject to time constraints. These include the polling of subscriber circuits, the processing of switching signals, which are in particular supplied by subscriber circuits or via connecting lines, the charge registration, for example charge pulses being counted, and the delivery of setting commands for the coupler control. The possibly existing central control unit CP, on the other hand, handles switching functions that have to take into account the connection of the partial devices of the installation and their connection with other installations. This includes the evaluation of dialed digits from telephone numbers, the search for switching network outlets to be used, the search and selection of connection routes and routing. This relieves the pressure on the control units of the first stage of expansion. However, the central control unit CP has no routine tasks that are particularly time-consuming. This facilitates cooperation with the decentralized control units. The processing of switching signals in the decentralized control units advantageously enables the exchange of messages between the decentralized control units and the central control unit CP to be handled via a standardized function interface. The type of signaling system used in each case therefore has no effect on the mode of operation and the switching structure of the central control unit CP. Various signaling systems can be provided, such as direct current signaling, alternating current signaling, multi-frequency sequence code character signaling or digital signaling.
It is advisable to provide the central control unit CP and the multi-level central switching network SN twice. In the figure, this is indicated by the fact that these devices are double-framed. This avoids failure of the entire system if one of the duplicate devices fails. A failure of the non-duplicated facilities does not affect the functioning of the other parts of the system and can therefore usually be accepted. The duplicated devices can also monitor each other, which applies in particular to the central control unit (see e.g. DOS 15 24 239; DAS 19 65 314, 21 04 298). It is also possible to identify faulty locations within these facilities, which contributes significantly to quick troubleshooting.
Methods for error detection and detection of faulty locations can also be carried out in the non-duplicated facilities. For this purpose, a decentralized control unit, such as the control unit GP, can routinely check the associated sub-devices, such as the switching matrix SES, the signal circuit SEU, the subscriber connection circuits t ... t32 ... and monitor them with the aid of time measurements. The time measurements are used to monitor whether the various switching processes take place in the normal time provided. An alarm is triggered if inadmissible timeouts occur. In the course of tracking monitoring, the decentralized control units also perform interconnection tests in the switching network, whereby test samples are sent, which can then be correctly received again. There may also be indications of faulty Positions result. Error messages can then be forwarded to the central control unit CP, if present, which can then deliver commands for blocking faulty sub-devices or for an equivalent circuit. These error messages can be sent via the connections between the decentralized control units and the central control unit CP. Special line systems for error messages or alarm signals are therefore not necessary. No special equivalent switching line systems are required either. The equivalent circuit is facilitated by the presence of the duplicate devices.
The switching matrix of the first expansion stage, such as the switching matrix SES, is also equipped with a multi-conference device MCU. Connections can therefore also be established in which more than two subscriber stations are involved. This device can also help to maintain the functionality of a first stage of expansion in the event of faults in the associated time channel coupler TSU, albeit to a limited extent.
The decentralized and central control units of a plant each have a memory in which the data required for the operation of the plant must be stored. The operation of the system is facilitated and improved if this data is appropriately distributed there. For this purpose, variable data are contained in a memory of a control unit of the first stage of expansion, such as data about existing connections, data about occupancy of time channels, data about connection impulses incurred individually. In contrast, permanent data are contained in the memory MUz of a central control unit CP, the data for digit evaluation and for zoning, data about subscriber stations, data about the connection the switching network and other sub-facilities of the plant. In addition, there is also variable data about the occupancy status of subscriber stations, intermediate lines and connecting lines and about the operating status of other sub-devices. Because the variable data mentioned is also contained in the memories of decentralized control units, if a central control unit malfunctions, the switching operation can be continued by using this data. They can also be used to reconstruct the variable data contained in the faulty central control unit. It may be advisable to save the data about existing connection paths in the memory of the central control unit as variable data from the outset.
