Die auf den Aufzeichnungsträger übertragenen Tonerbilder werden anschließend in einer Fixierstation in den Aufzeichnungsträger eingeschmolzen. Der Umdruck der Tonerbilder vom Zwischenträger auf den Aufzeichnungsträger kann zeilenweise erfolgen. In einer weiteren Ausführungsform besteht die Einrichtung zur Bewegung des Balkens 12 aus mindestens zwei Elektromagnetanordnungen. Jede Elektromagnetanordnung setzt sich aus einem Andruckmagneten 16, einem Rückholmagneten 17 und einem an den Balken 12 angelenkten gemeinsamen Anker 18 zusammen (Fig.2). Im Ruhezustand werden die Rückholmagneten 17 von einem schwachen Strom I 17 durchflossen (Fig.3). Soll das Tonerbild vom Zwischenträger auf den Aufzeichnungsträger übertragen werden, so wird unter gleichzeitigem Abschalten des Stromes für die Rückholmagnete 17 ein Stomimpuls 16 von solcher Dauer auf die Andruckmagnete 16 gegeben, daß der Balken 12 sicher zum Anschlag an den Aufzeichnungsträger und die ortsfeste Leiste kommt. Nach Beendigung des Stromimpulses 1 16 für die Andruckmagneten 16 wird den Rückholmagneten 17 ein Stromimpuls zugeleitet; und die Rückholmagnete holen den Balken wieder in die Ruhelage zurück. Nach der für den Rückholvorgang erforderlichen Dauer wird der die Rückholmagnete 17 durchfließende Strom I 17 wieder auf einen kleineren Wert vermindert, der zum Festhalten des Balkens 12 in der Ruhelage ausreichend ist.

Claims (11)

1. Device for transferring toner characters applied to a constantly rotating strip-like intermediate carrier to a data carrier, in particular for printers and copiers, characterised in that the intermediate carrier (1) cosists of elastic material and mechanical means are provided which ensure that during the transfer printing process the side of the intermediate carrier (1) to which the toner is applied comes into contact with the data carrier (6), at which time the area of the intermediate carrier provided for the transfer printing temporarily comes to a halt.
2.Device as claimed in Claim 1, characterised by mechanicla means consists of a stationary strip (13) which is arranged on one side of the intermediate carrier (1) and of a bar (12) which can be moved at right angles to the direction of movement of the intermediate carrier (1) by means of a device and which is arranged on the other side of the intermediate carrier.
3. Device as claimed in Claim 2, characterised in that the bar is arranged on that side of the intermediate carrier (1) which does not bear the toner and that the data carrier (6) bears against the strip (13).
4. Device as claimed in Claim 2 or 3, characterised by a device for moving the bar composed of at least two electromagnets (14) whose armature (22) is attached to the bar (12), and of tension springs (15) which are secured to the bar and which return the bar to the rest position following its transfer printing motion.
5. Device as claimed in Claim 2 or 3, characterised in that the device which serves to move the bar (12) provides at least two electromagnet arrangements, that each electromagnet arrangement consists of a pressure magnet (16), a return magnet (17) and an armature (18) which is connected to the bar (12) and is common to one pressure magnet and one return magnet, that the movement of the bar towards the intermediate carrier (1) is produced in that a first current pulse (l 16) is supplied to the pressure magnet (16), that for the return process the return magnet (17) is supplied with a second current pulse (17), and that the bar is maintained in the rest position in that a current which is small in magnitude relative to the second current pulse flows through the return magnet.
6. Device as claimed in one of the preceding Claims, characterised in that a device is provided which brings that area of the intermediate carrier provided for the transfer printing process to a halt prior to the contact with the data carrier, and the stationary state is discontinued following the separation of the two carriers.
7. Device as claimed in Claim 6, characterised by a device in the form of braking body (19) which consists of elastic material, which is mounted at the edge of the strip (20) adjacent to the data carrier (6) and which in the rest state projects beyond the data carrier which bears against the strip.
8. Device as claimed in Claim 6, characterised by a device in the form of a braking body composed of a spring mounted metal block (21) which is arranged at the edge of the strip (22) adjacent to the data carrier (6) and which in the rest state projects beyond the data carrier which bears against the strip.
9. Device as claimed in one of the Claims 6 to 8, characterised in that the braking body (19, 21) is fork-shaped on the side facing towards the intermediate carrier only in those areas in which the intermediate carrier is not provided with toner.
10. Device as claimed in one of the preceding Claims, characterised in that an electric voltage is connectected between the bar (12) and the strip (13).
11. Device as claimed in one of the Claims 1 to 9, characterised in that a magnetic field is produced between the bar (12) and the strip (13).
