Abstract

The essence of the invention consists of the construction of a grid-shell without supports of intersecting layers of initially straight pre-stressed laths glued together from multilayer lamellae of different physical properties and cross-sections laid concentrically around the centre of the laths' cross-section. The coordinates needed for carpentry joints connecting the laths to each other are found out with the help of 3D-software projecting the grid of certain step and the same angle of axis intersecting to each other initially located on the plane to the shell of requested shape. Laths will be connected longitudinally to each other with graduated joggle formed during the producing by shifting the concentrically laid layers of lamellae where mortise is on one end and tenon at the other end of the lath. The layers of laths will be connected to each other with the help of partly half-lap and from one edge a dovetailed joint, cut previously into the initially straight lath that will self-lock because of bending and torsion inside stress during the montage. The construction of grid-shell will start along the perimeter from the lower edge with fixing the ends of intersecting laths to the base structure and by bending the laths until their inter-joint will be locked and after that with longitudinal connecting of next laths analogically upwards until the grid-shell is finally finished.
