Abstract

The invention relates to an aluminum composite material reinforced with carbon fibers and method for manufacturing it. The method involves mixing the carbon fibers into motlen aluminium using a mixer, wherein atmospheric oxygen is depleted in the airtight manufacturing room by burning the mixture of fuel gas and oxygen prior to the addition of the carbon fibers to the aluminium melt. The produced fiber-aluminium composite contains 0.1% to 40% by weight of carbon fiber and 60% to 99.9% by weight of aluminum, the orientation and positioning of carbon fibers in the aluminium matrix are random.
