Abstract

The restricted flow channels (30) increase the resistance to the flow of the medium in the first section of the branch pipe in order to limit the flow rate of the medium taken by the pump (12) below the threshold level. The valve (14) and the valve element (22) are also disclosed. The system (10) has a specific application in the extraction of minerals, and the methods of controlling the operation of the pump and the fitting of the pumping system are also disclosed.
