Abstract

В заявке описано решение для значительного снижения вызванных водородом потерь в оптических волокнах с легирующей добавкой германия за счет увеличения концентрации кислорода в области сердцевины волокна. Увеличение концентрации кислорода "излечивает" дефекты типа вакансий в германии, тем самым существенно уменьшая число мест структуры, в которые может внедриться водород. Преимущество изобретения заключается в том, что присутствие избыточного кислорода не снижает возможности образования решеток в области сердцевины волокон ультрафиолетовым излучением. Действительно было установлено, что устойчивость стекла даже возрастает при воздействии ультрафиолетового излучения. Таким образом, может быть сформирована внутриволоконная брэгговская решетка, пригодная для использования в суровых высокотемпературных окружающих условиях.
