Abstract
The invention relates to alloys based on aluminum, which can be used for products of the electrical industry, where high strength and corrosion resistance are required. The aim of the invention is to increase the resistance of the alloy to pitting corrosion. The goal is achieved through the introduction of one or more elements from the group of rare-earth metals (Y, Ga, Er, Ce, Nd, Pr) in an aluminum-iron (with a content of up to 3%) in the content from 0.005 to 0.5%. With a minimum iron content of 0.2% to aluminum, modifying with yttrium reduces the corrosion rate by 2 times, and the corrosion rate of Al-Fe (2.18%) of the alloy decreases by 2 times when modifying 0.005% (Ce + La) or (Ce + Nd). The most effective to the eutectic composition was the addition of gadolinium 0.05%, since the corrosion rate decreased 4 times. Doping of an aluminum alloy with a maximum Fe content (3%) with cerium or yttrium to 0.5% reduces the corrosion rate by more than 2 times. The essence of the invention is to develop the composition of the aluminum-iron alloy, modified by one or more metals from the group of rare-earth in order to achieve improved corrosion resistance against pitting corrosion.
