Abstract

The invention relates to medicine and medical equipment, more specifically, to devices for tags implantation into a biological tissue and to methods for localization of such tags in the patient's body, e.g. during surgical, diagnostic and other medical procedures. The device comprises a needle (1) presented as a tube with n-tags (3) (n=2, 3, …, N) inside it, with a handle (6) attached to one of its ends, the other end being pointed, and a rod (2) for movement inside the needle (1), one of the rod ends carries a handle (12) and the other end is adapted to press out the tags (3) contained in the needle (1). The needle handle (6) has a prolonged hollow body (9) with its front and rear parts located on different ends of the body, and the needle handle body (9) has an n-stepped opening (11) extending longitudinally along the body (9) and having a step length corresponding to the tag (3) size. The rod handle (12) at its end has a radial projection (13) located in said opening (11) and occupying the upper operating position in the needle handle body (9) rear part, and the rod handle (12) is capable of successively imparting the linear motion along the needle handle body (9) axis to the rod when the rod handle projection (13) is rail-travelling along the n-step opening (11) of the needle handle from the first operating position to the second operating position, and imparting to the rod (2) the rotational motion relative to the needle handle body (9) axis when the rod handle projection (13) is rail-travelling along the n-step opening (11) of the needle handle from the second operating position to the third operating position. The needle (1) pointed end's edge is turned and fixed relative to the n-step opening (11) guideway. The foregoing device makes it possible to implement a method for biological tissue labelling that includes the following phases. After puncturing the biological tissue, the needle (1) with n-tags (3) is brought to a required labelling site, moved to the first insertion point, in which the needle (1) movement is stopped and the first tag is pressed out by way of pressing the rod (12) handle and imparting linear motion to it. Then the needle (1) is pulled on while not fully removed from the wound, and the needle (1) insertion angle is changed, the needle (1) is moved to the next insertion point, in which the needle (1) movement is stopped and the rod handle (12) is first rotated and then pressed for imparting the linear motion to the rod (2) and pressing out the next tag (3) into the next point. The second phase is repeated where necessary, and then the needle (1) is removed from the wound. The device and the method will allow to improve the efficiency of tag insertion into a biological tissue.
